I have accumulated over 70 hours on Lufty Cargo's MD-11Fs flight deck jumpseats, what a great aircraft and experience, I am so looking forward to the release of this add-on!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Even in this development stage, it is an outstanding rendition and a lot of fun to fly. When I was reviewing the video clips during editing, I caught myself staring at the throttles too LOL.
Hello, I see that you stopped uploading recently, but I'd love it if you continued these tutorials series. I'm not a CE owner, so these tutorials are absolutely golden to get ready for this birds release. 👍
Hello, I haven't been uploading primarily due to a lack of time. However, I am in touch still with TFDi and we are planning precisely some of the videos you are referring to. Bear with me as I try and find the time to put these together. Thank you so much.
@ShipwreckedReal thank you. If you would ever like to discuss faith in Christ, feel free to go to the about section on my channel page; you will find my email address there where you may contact me. God bless
Really looking forward to the release of this plane, but we will likely be waiting awhile. With that, Im probably going to go ahead and pickup the sky simulations md11 in the meantime. I dont really want to, but have been wanting an md-11 for my fedex routes in the sim. Update….bought the pmdg 737-800 to use as my cargo-liner in the meantime. 😁
Bought myself some more waiting time for the release of this aircraft. Went ahead and got the PMDG 737-800 to use as my fedex cargo aircraft. Bad thing is that the TFDi wont be available for open purchase until MARCH 2024 at the absolute earliest. Likely wont be until a month or longer after that. Its going to be awhile.
I DO love the the cockpit on these older birds, wish they'd make this for XPlane 12! Thanks for the information on LSAS, always good to learn about how these things were/are engineered!
She is a beautiful airplane isn't she? The LSAS is an interesting system; capable of being a great help when properly understood. It also makes hand flying the airplane pretty easy and smooth.
I turned it off after you left this comment. I am posting another video today; let me know if the quality is better. I can't see much of a difference personally.
Really exciting stuff! On a side note, actually don’t mind if there was no engine audio, rather just hear your explanations and watch the systems work! Feel like the engine audio ends up being a bit jarring to the ears.
I appreciate the feedback on that. I was a little back and forth on having it in there, but in the end, I decided that most people would be more struck by no sound at all. In the future, if I need to use a background engine audio like that, I will reduce the sound a little further to make it less noticeable.
That's a great point! Thanks for the info. Interestingly, the fuel economy of the MD-11 never met the expectations despite the lower drag. It was however, more fuel efficient than the DC10 and of course, held more stuff.
@@CaptainMac, thanks for the video! Looking forward to the release and to try out all the quirks with this bird, should be a handful to land for example :)
I’m looking forward to this, two things tho, is LSAS like a forerunner of MCAS in the 737 max? Is the plane actually in alpha or beta now considering the close release date I feel concerned about the short testing time, or are tfdi doing early access for this like fss with the e170-75?
I am not familiar enough with the MCAS to comment on that. The plane is not in alpha or beta, it is still in development. However, testing has been ongoing for quite some time. TFDi can comment on release dates etc. That's not for me to say. I will say, in it's current state, this airplane is better than a lot of payware on the market.
Serious doubts about aircraft performance... If you watch @23:00... you have 10 degrees of pitch up, speed = stall speed -30 kts. You should be in a deeeeep stall here but the aircraft is still climbing at 2000ft/min... that's just impossible. On top of that... it's flying in the red stall speed since 22:30 without losing altitude, aircraft should be in a stall.
@CaptainMac doesn't matter... stall speed is indicated by top of the lower red bar so if you are 30 knots below top of the red bar you should be in a deep stall and not climbing at 2000ft/min. I'm not a hater and seriously considering to buy the MD-11 on release but we may be critical no?
Nothing wrong with being critical; we all anticipate an excellent and well developed aircraft. The point I was driving at is that this is still in development. The reason I asked about the speeds regards the speed tape itself. Perhaps the error was where the red bar began? I have no doubt that TFDi is working diligently to ensure that all aspects of the aircraft are up to par; this will of course include the flight dynamics. But, it is still being worked on and has not been released, so to criticize a product that has not been released to the public and is still in its development phase seems a tad hasty to me. Wouldn't you agree we should allow them to finish their work and then point out things we see as needing correction, if any?
What kind of texture is this? It's somewhat like X-Plane. This is quite disappointing. I was hoping it would be better than the current MD-11. The sound is lacking as well.
The textures are accurate to the real aircraft and the art team has been very meticulous in the texture layout to ensure high resolution across the aircraft. As far as sounds, as Captain Mac both said verbally AND wrote in the video: that is not our sound pack. The engine sound in the video was added for ambience.
I've got good news. The video is about the MD-11 that TFDi is releasing later this year. I start all of my videos by honoring the One who makes it possible for me to make them. I hope you enjoyed the video.
There are absolutely texturing details that will be improved before release. Some of the visual assets in this build are also a bit older, so some of these issues have likely already been fixed.

Thanks for the video. I was captivated by the throttles going back and forth while you were talking. Can't wait to get my CE MD-11 soon!

Can't wait to have this baby in my hanger come October 16.
As always great insightful video captain Mac.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is a beauty to fly and I have no doubt you will love it!

Great review of a complex system. Always great quality content!!
Thanks brother! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Super that TFDi is letting you do videos for us. I can't wait to get my hands on my Collectors edition next month :)
Looking forward to your next one.
Haha never trust developers time dates

So this is basically the MCAS from the max with better manual override 😂

Theres already a MD-11 in X-Plane 12 by Rotate.
I did a full flight tutorial on that one.

You need to turn off that DLSS, otherwise your instruments are very blurry

LSAS sounds a lot like a "FBW Lite". A lot of features you see in the Airbus aircraft FBW protections in there. Should be pretty fun to fly with.
I put over 1200 hours onto the PMDG MD. Impatiently waiting for this so I can get back into my bird
I really like the bible verse at the beginning of the video. Nice one!
Glad you liked it! Thanks 😊
Love this project! Thanks for the video!
My pleasure, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I remember when you did a tutorial a few years back with the PMDG MD-11 =)
Yessir. I will be doing a full flight tutorial on this one as well.
You sir are amazing!
Awww shucks. Thanks Mark 😊

*MD11 was designed to be "neutrally stable" with the pros of less drag and a smaller stabilizer (also less drag) but required stability augmentation

Will wait until I see reviews of the final product before I purchase. Look's promising but MSFS have taught me to be very cautious.

What is the stall speed for an MD-11 at FL200 with a TOW of 289,000 lbs after burning 30 minutes of fuel? What is it at 15,000ft?
@CaptainMac doesn't matter... stall speed is indicated by top of the lower red bar so if you are 30 knots below top of the red bar you should be in a deep stall and not climbing at 2000ft/min. I'm not a hater and seriously considering to buy the MD-11 on release but we may be critical no?
@@sandertje888 Damn, if only it was said in the video like 8 times that this is a work in progress aircraft.

1:54 Drop shadow around the hor. stab? Panel lines thicker than my moms ass and visible from that distance? That is some bad texturing.
Did I mention this is an in development version of the aircraft? Lol.

all sounds great.... but will it ever actually be real?
I mean, it's real right now, just not released to the public yet.
