Here is a dude who never wears his welcome out. He sticks to food, avoid controversial subjects ( politics, religion ) , gets along with everyone, and he is always and upbeat and cheerful mood. His enthusiasm is contagious.
Works the local contact network, certainly pays who gives him the entry into the good stuff, and his support crew .
He got the formula down. And his subscriber rate reflects it , as he is off the charts.

That's the sad thing tho, people now days are so sensitive with controversial subjects. People just think the other side is stupid and conversation heats up super quick to the point where we can't have conversation on these subjects but these are very important subjects that need to be talked about.

Great video! I can't wait for part 2! I've always love watching videos on China, especially Chinese cuisine. All the food looked absolutely delicious!
Chinese cuisine has always been so interesting to me because of a few things...It's long history going back thousands of years and just how extensive and varied it can be with thousands of recipes, ingredients, styles, and techniques used.
Plus, learning how much influence Chinese cuisine had on cuisines all around the world blows my mind. So many dishes either originated there or were based on something from there.

This is cool to feature Chinese street food that is wholesome and fresh. Everything looks so amazing. It's such a stark contrast to other places in China that have years of recurring food safety incidents and undercover documentaries that feature food being intentionally substituted with toxic powders or additives to enhance taste, save frying oil and to allow to use less meat in dishes.

VazO_ Sichuan province do not have tradition to eat dogs , because there are two many food to choose. The bio- diversity in Sichuan is abundant. Dog is only popular in some specific province like Guangxi. Also as a Chinese I’ve never heard any news or any people talking about eating cat in my 30 years life in China. I think people don’t eat cat or dog in most part of the world , simply because it isn’t economical. Cats and dogs produce much less meat than pig, and they eat meat as well.

That "sichuan" garlic is just summer garlic, if you take a clove of garlic and plant it, it will grow into a large bulb normally. It only splits into multiple cloves when overwintered / i.e. planted prior to a winter frost. The cold causes the clove to multiply.

Really captures the yumminess of this region, and we've lived in china for years. Sometimes your longer episodes (over 20 minutes) can feel a little too much, but this one really holds the attention and Works Great!

I was surprised at how oily the dish was but it was delicious. I can now see that it was indeed authentic.

    Hi Mark,
Really enjoy your channel & all the fantastic types of food you've been introducing from all over the world! :)
Always wanted to ask you the following 2 questions, hope you'll be able to take some time to answer them amidst all the delicious food :)
    (1) How do you manage to consume so much food whenever you visit these places, specially if it's something like a 14-hour food tour like the above?
    (2) Also, do you actually finish all of the food introduced in your videos, or do you just eat a bit of the food for each stop? Especially for some of the food where the portions are huge just for 1 person & you're introducing 3-4 different types of food within a span of just few hours (e.g. between lunch & dinner)?
Keep up the excellent work Mark! :)

Why on earth should we want to know about the bad ones? He’s doing us a favour by choosing the good ones he has experienced. So just leave him alone about never reviewing bad places. The world is a better place by focussing and advertising GOOD things. Life is too short to complain about the bad. Well done Mark-you are a wonderful positive person and deserve the success you have achieved.
