My mother was ready to go, she was tired of her life, and I knew I had to let her go on her own terms. This song spoke to me about giving your loved one the space to go on her own terms. 5 years ago I heard this song for the first time at a Marco Borsato concert. During that time my uncle was terminally ill. It's one of the hardest things and at the same time one of the most beautiful things to experience. I was able to witness both my parents letting go as also one of my best friends when she was only 24. The love I felt at that moment was overwelming. When my dad died in 2019 it broke me, and stangely not the moment he died, but the road to it. He was sick for a long long time, and every time his breath stopped for a moment, mine did as well. You love that somebody so u don’t want him/her to leave for yourself. But it’s such a selfish thing to do/think. Life is hard.😭 First I lost my dad and then Lyme disease took my health away and left me with pain everyday for 10 years . Then my mom suddenly died . Friends left me because they didn't believe my illness. My son had a bad fall from the stairs in my house and I saved his life . Brain damage changed him and it feels like losing him to. This hits so hard when you just "took someone to the water". 3 weeks ago my best friend mom passed away and 3 months before that his dad. He is now an orphan at 31 year old. Life is so damn tough. Friends left me because they didn't believe my illness. My son had a bad fall from the stairs in my house and I saved his life . Brain damage changed him and it feels like losing him to. This hits so hard when you just "took someone to the water". 3 weeks ago my best friend mom passed away and 3 months before that his dad. He is now an orphan at 31 year old. Life is so damn tough. No one should have to say goodbye to his parents that soon.
