Have Marines deployed to Washington DC? I found a few, but probably not what you expected.

- I got a number of requests about a deployment of Marines to Washington and even additional National Guard troops, so I decided I'd head up to the Marine Barracks at 8th and I Street SE to see if anything looked out of the ordinary. I also rode over to the National Guard armory to see what was up over there as people were asking about more soldiers and buses. In both cases, didn't really find much, but I'll show you and you can judge for yourself.

Went to the Marine Barrick event as a 13 year old and 74 now. I can still recall the chills of watching the President's Own.

Yes, there were 400 Marines that showed up there at the armory a few days ago. They didn't have their weapons but was told they would receive them after they arrived.

Hey guys! There will be a nationwide test of the EBS on August 11 at 2:20pm EST, with a backup date of August 25 at the same time.
The EBS was replaced in 1997 with the Emergency Alert System, but it is entertaining to watch all if you repeat chatroom trash as if you actually know something. I'll set a notification for August 12 just to see your new prediction.
The Emergency Alert System has a 30 minute test alert set for August 11, 2021. It’s public knowledge on their website! Check for yourself that’s what I did.
I guess the county I live in tests the tornado sirens the first Saturday of the month unless there's already inclement weather forecast.

There are a couple of companies of Marines at the Barracks as well as the Marine Band and other smaller units
We had a shooting spree here in NW Phoenix Arizona. Approximately 90 minutes, 6 locations, 1200pm to 130pm, 4 shot, 13 wounded. I think aligns with the time DC shooting took place. Unusual for Phoenix, praying for those hurt and involved.

Guard someplace this week. 300, thousand of our troops are all over the world. Our Army jets are in Taiwan. Our Navy is at the Gaza Strip. Some are in Switzerland.

This is so sad! I used to live in Bethesda and then Arlington, just 2 blocks up from the Pentagon, and it looks like a ghost town. No traffic to speak of, no tourists or people generally.
