For about twelve years we made over thirty trips to DC. I did what you do, I toured the city while my wife was in meetings making good things happen for Alabama Libraries. $$$ from our conservative Senators & Congresspeople to ease their guilt. I rode a lot of miles on the Metro. 12.21 as you leave Pennsylvania Ave, The Old Ebbitt Grill was our dinner spot. We usually sat at the Corner Bar & had Trout Parmesan. We go back every few years just for the trout. Thanks for the tour past our old stomping grounds.

Yea it lights up. I think it goes dark late late at night in the early morning but I'm usually not around then. Not sure why they changed the angle. Maybe a better view of people going in and out?

Your camera has impressive dynamic range. You can see details in the shadows under the trees and also the clouds and blue skies.
On really clear days it's really good. In low light indoors I'm not as impressed, but with blue skies--wow.
