Ever since this song came out, I've been telling my family I wanted "My body lies, but still I roam" as my epitaph. Love this song!
I had that pit in my will that epitaph under an 18 wheeler.
This isn't just their most underrated songs... this is their best damned song! None of their other songs even come close for me!
Metalhead "elites" don't think of the Black Album as a true MetallicA album. Probably because it's not as fast or hard as their past albums. Or because it was so commercially successful. But, that album was so good. Not my favorite of theirs but still a great album. They spent 3 years touring for that record! That's how successful it was.
It’s hard to fathom how people don’t like the album with 2 of their heaviest songs
They also held a historical concert in Moscow with this album. Over 1 million in attendance
Agreed, the black album took a lot of shit
Die hard long time Metallica fan here- since about 1985 and I love this album! That made metal mainstream with this album for sure. The only albums I’m not a fan of are load and reload. Some songs on those I like but I don’t ever listen to them but I listen to Metallica EVERY morning on my work ride! I just put all the Metallica albums on my iPod and plug it in on shuffle.
Saw this tour and it was incredible. Great album
I've listened to this album since it came out in 91' and that solo still hits me so hard! Great reaction you guys!
Y'all are my new favorite RUclips couple.
No matter where you go you always bring yourself with you.
One of my favorites of Metallica. One is another.
He's a ghost, a spirit. The last line gives it away
This was a theme song for me in the early 2000s when I was moving around so much and always said Where I lay my head is home
My favourite part of this was definitely watching Half desperately trying to un-dig his grave while explaining to his beautiful significant other in great detail and with great authority the history of prostitution, and how it has evolved through the years. LMFAO.
Hahaha right!!!!
This is actually probably one of my favorites this and of course From Whom the Bell Tolls
You haven't lived until you've been in the pit at a Metallica concert 👍 🎸
for real...hearing this brings me back to be a teenager when harm& possible death never entered my mind
FINALLY!!! I've been begging all the reactors I follow to do this song! Metallica is my favorite band and this is my favorite song, since it came out in '91 when I was 14. Low and behold 7 years later I became a long haul trucker and this song became even more special to me because this song is the closest thing I can think of to describe my life.
Hell Yes!!!! One of their best and one of my favs! One just as awesome is I disappear, check out that one guys!
when I was on the road, selling land out of state, this song was my anthem
Most of all I'm happy to see you guys together
“St.Anger” from Metallica filmed at a San Quintin prison. Hard rock!!
I can’t give you a favorite song or even a favorite album for that matter. Too many great ones to pick from! I’m just waiting for the next one!!!
This was one of Metallica's biggest singles from their 1991 self-titled "black" album... 5 singles from that record made MTV including this one... 'Enter Sandman' ... 'The Unforgiven' ... 'Sad but true' ... 'Nothing else matters'... the album has sold 17 million copies in the US & is Metallica's biggest selling album.
"Wherever I may roam" was Metallica's unending tour schedule til that point... they had been on the move since 1983... their first US tour was in a U-Haul truck w/ the band Raven... they went to Europe in 1984, traveling in a rented van.
1985 saw Metallica's first major tour w/ W.A.S.P. and finally having a tour bus! And 1986 saw them open for Ozzy Osbourne... That year, their bassist Cliff Burton was killed on tour.
They got bassist Jason Newsted and kept going into 1987. They had to grieve their loss on the road... then they toured w/ Van Halen in 1988... Headlined an arena tour in 1989 w/ Queensryche. So it was their perception of life on tour...always on the move. Recording, touring w/ few breaks in between.
This 5th Metallica album took a year to record and cost 1 million $$ and 3 marriages ending for the band members. The album hit #1 in 1991 and stayed on the charts until 1996... Metallica toured relentlessly from 1991 all the way to 1994 for this 1 album. They would not return w/ a new album until 1996.
I heard that in the case of Jason Newstead, his wife actually disappeared off the radar, thus the divorce being granted under desertion.
Half and Jain. You have no idea how much I’d love to hang out with you guys. You’re beyond cool and I love watching your videos. Thank you for being you. God Bless! 👍🏻🤘🏻☺️
*Jai
Hey I loved your reaction, I can tell when your feeling it! This is a real stadium banger!!
I wish you'd guys would come to Nashville! I would love to have cocktails! Y'all are awesome!
Takes me back to Long Beach Sports Arena. 2 Metallica concerts sold out in 15 minutes. Got the 3rd add on concert though titled An even with Metallica. 3 and a half hours of nothing but Metallica. Great Show!
Loving your reactions.
Love this song... seeing them on Sunday at aftershock in Sacramento!
Jammed to them alot back in the day and occasionally still do. My faves is one, unforgiven, and sad but true
@Eddi Szilard definitely it makes me hype
I love watching you two jam out I was with you on the head banging
Hey y'all.... Watching from Northern Michigan... Hair looks great jai.... Underated but a fav of many.
One big happy Metallica family baby! \m/
Half and Jai ❤ enjoyed the reaction 🔥 love Metallica, its really the only heavy metal I do love. Always will love them. Enter Sandman, Nothing else matters..pretty much all their stuff is fire 🔥 I finally have been able to listen to them again more. They was my brothers most favorite of all bands and music. He passed away in 2012. It was hard to hear Metallica since. But yeah I like the feeling it gives me now. Memories of us at their concert, banging our heads so hard and fast. Good times ❤💔
The Unforgiven is probably my favorite of theirs. Great videos y'all. Thank you and keep em coming.
Mine too but this is a close 2nd of the Black album
I'm just so proud of you both for embracing the metal headbang! it just happens when its right
I remember from a video a while ago that Jai's birthday is October 14th, so is mine. You know us sexy Libras have to stick together. This one and Fade to Black are my 2 favorites. Happy birthday young lady and Half, treat that lady right brother. Great reaction!
I’ve always loved this song!
That's why with rock 'n roll, they say "sex, drugs, & rock 'n roll"! Back in the 80's, there was a LOT of that!
Dude look at her go throwin up the devil horns you guys make me proud
Great reaction, love the head banging....rock on🤘🤘🤘🤘
Half and Jai I freaking love yall! Sending good fibes from Maine
You guys are awesome!
My understanding of this song was that it was about life on the road as a big time rock band. But I think James is singing about a few other things too.
You be my FAM right now Brotha and Sista....Much Love 2 U. LOL
Such an honest reaction to this classic Metallica song! 🤣 👏
I truly have love for you two!!!! Much Love
Formed in LA but a Bay Area band for many years till Hetfield moved to Colorado, still kept his ranch in Marin down from the Skywalker Ranch but he'd had it with Marin County snobs. I followed these guys for years and even worked on Lars house at one point. Some favorites are...Master of Puppets, Blackened, One...too many to list when I think about it. They're still going strong, saw them at AT&T Park before Super Bowl 50, better than the half time show during the game.
This, Sad but True and One were the energy toons years ago when I drove 18 wheels across the US. Simple, lots of drums and guitars to keep you awake and ready till that next stop came.
BEST ROAD TRIP SONG!!!
You two are so freakin awesome! ❤️👍🏻🤘🏼
I love this song!!! Nobody ever references this one, weirdly.
You got it righg Half! dont tell the judge, but if jail is where i lay my head its home. They can take freedom but not feeling.
'turn the page" Metallica original song is Bob seger
BACK THEN, THE WOMEN WERE MORE LIKE “GROUPIES”. Not really prostitutes.🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
HALF, your a mess! 🤣🤣🤣 You crack me up!
Deep song, but it is hard to listen to heavy metal... I could handle some of it in the 80’s (high school) 😳 but it’s out of my system for sure! Lol
Glad you are giving all
genre’s a chance!
❤️Have you heard BETH by KISS ? It is rock but it is slow and sweet...
My dad sang Beth to my mom once after an argument (except he substituted her name Vickie) so that song always reminds me of that!
Jaz here,,,woooo!!! You guys rock
Off this album, "Sad but True" is my fave...love this reaction, love both your reaction channels too!
Check out all of the lyrics. You'll love it more. Metallica is one of a rare kind.
Y'all oughta check out "Sad But True" by Metallica. It's my absolute favorite of their's.
Roamer, wanderer, nomad, vagabond
Call me what you will
Yeah, you will................
Fanfreakingtastic
I forgot about this song, thanks for the reminder, skol! Respect from England!
Great song dope reaction enjoying rocking out with y'all🔥🎶🔥
It's so good to see ya'll back over here! Been enjoying your solo rides, but this is good to ya'll here shootin' good vibes ❤ To answer your question, my fave Metallica is "One" but really they are all my faves. They are a top 5 artist for me.
My favorite Metallica song? may be the hardest question ever asked of me. Can I just say the whole damn Kill Em All Album?
One of the greatest bands of all time!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Half you funny! Your reaction made me laugh 🤣.
This is my ringtone on my phone. Just saw them 2 weeks ago at Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville on Friday and Sunday, they did the entire Black album on Sunday from The Struggle Within to Enter Sandman plus 4 others, F-ing amazing. Favorite song= All of them
Knew as soon as I saw the title, that Jai’s head would start banging! Y’all should check out/react to the Unforgiven. Y’all put such a smile on my face.
LOVE YOU FOLKS! YOU MAKE A BEAUTIFUL COUPLE AND I ENJOY YER VIDEOS!
Yes!!
This actually IS 1 of my favorite Metallica songs!
Amazing song!! Always one of my favorites by them.
Amazing reaction as always!! Keep doin your thing.
Song had plenty of guitar for Jai.
Gotta give our man Half some credit. He picks up beats of the song quick every time. He knows where the music is going.
Metallica for sure responsible for some tendon damage in my neck. 🤣😂🤣 My favorite from Metallica son is Enter Sandman.
SEX, DRUG'S, & ROCK & ROLL!!!! grew up on that phrase! Great Job! Happy to see you both!
Breh they were really vibin this metal that's wasup guitar 🎸
I live by this song. It is my walk in everyday life.🤟🤟🤟🤟
Wherever I May Roam
Welcome Home Sanitarium
Eye Of The Beholder
Blackened
Ride The Lightning
All of my favorite songs from the GMBOAT
Greatest metal band of all time
Side note on Metallica
They were all about the booze not the drugs like blow and weed
This is actually *not at all* underrated. Underrated would be a song like Eye of the Beholder. Or when we talk about The Black Album then Holier Than Thou is probably an underrated one. Great reaction.
Through the Never off the black album is my jam.
The entire album was underrated by fans who couldn't understand a musical growth.
@Susan Corr Ok and? Real Musicians grow. Thats what they did. They could've written as much Thrash songs as they want but the same shits getting boring, the question after finishing AJFA with a big bang dyers eve was, whats left there to do, grow up or being stuck in the same shit forever. No matter if The Black Album didn't have a Thrash song, The tour for the Album was amazing because they still Thrashed and James had not lost his voice at that point. Stop crying and get real. It's an amazing album and if you don't like it its your problem. The Black Album is musically genius. Simple but effective.
The Frayed ends of Sanity
Also kathulu
6:58…. That actually made me laugh bro, thanks….
loved this reaction......I dare u.. no. but it dont hurt to sing it hahahha
this is 1 of Metallicas best songs🔥🔥🔥 great reaction 🔥🔥
Y'all are great!
Awesome reaction to an awesome song
Rock on🤟
A single favorite Metallica song? Depends on my mood, right now got to go with 'No Leaf Clover'!
Yall are great. I can always expect to laugh.
Just stumbled upon yall! PANTERA - Cemetary Gates!
I wouldn't call it underrated, us fans absolutely loved this song, but it didn't get much radio play time except late at night here.
Bleeding me is a great song by this band
I love this song
I had a drink of one of those beers. He would chug about a quarter of it then pass it down to the crowd. Who passed it around. Years later you think back how gross that actually was. Not a chance in hell today. Lol
Check out the song "One" From the And Justice for all" album
I thought I was gonna speak my mind to the judge once... Until the guy chained to me pissed her off!
Underrated is every song besides One on the And Justice For All album (IMO their best album).
It’s kinda funny and ironic that this song is on this album, because they spent the most time on the road touring for this album.
A little over 3 years! That's insane
You guys have to check out: heart stairway to heaven (plant cried in reaction), I’d do anything for love by meatloaf, the voice Russia still loving you with the guy I think he tuxedo. I promise none will disappoint
The heart tribute to stairway was unbelievably great!
Great song. This one always used to fire me up.
Actualy this music vídeo is from the 1992 tour if want to try this song live too...it was better live!
Y'all got a sub for this one!
In the 90's the were King's 💯 "prostitutes then and prostitutes now are completely different!" Statement of the century 💯 😆🤣 y'all are too funny great React Fam
First, I am VERY happy to see you guys doing reactions together as well as your own thing. Second I think Through the Never is the most underrated Metallica song. Third for me favorite is a tossup between Whiplash, Seek and Destroy, and Sanitarium (Welcome Home).
I can't find a link to Jai's channel. Can you share or tell me where to find it pls.
@@Uninvited72 simply jai
@@dalefleming6427 thx
@@Uninvited72 your VERY welcome
Seek & destroy by them is a badass tune also
Saw them on this tour. Great show but the last of their great albums was Justice. Just my humble opinion.
Love the reactions
Treat people like you want to be treated but wake up everyday with this attitude.
That beard tho......Epic!!
Hey Guys, Was hoping you could check out 311 Beautiful Disaster, Truly Awesome Track
