Truly jaw dropping. Unbelievable. I’ve worked in auto parts for 40+ years. I couldn’t imagine going through all those parts identifying and tagging them. Trying to match the serial numbers of the major components to the existing cars that were there. What an undertaking.
Being a 69 Camaro SS enthusiast myself, and owning the first car I ever owned till present day ,makes this barn find unbelievable!!! Thanks for the video, and look forward to your restoration videos. My jaw is still wide open seeing all them 302 blocks. How does one collect all them vehicles and parts it is mind boggling. My favorite car in the whole world 69 Z28 just don’t make them like that anymore. What a treasure trove!
These kinds of circumstances are always bittersweet I think. On one hand it's awesome to see so many cool cars and parts waiting for someone to restore them to former glory. On the other hand, it's frankly hoarding by someone that probably never really had time for any of them. I respect that anyone should be allowed to spend money as they please, but I've seen stuff like this first-hand and they very rarely do anything with any of the stuff. Regardless, this really is a solid find and will make LOTS of new owners happy to build their dream cars.
If the guy that had this collection didn't. Half of them probably would of been crushed or sitting in yards somewhere. So he did them justice as he had the means and facilities to store them inside and preserved them. Now if he was the typical clown where they were rotting in yards, then I'd agree with ya.
I think a lot of these folks use these cars as almost retirement funds. They can sell bit by bit when they need more money, but they can enjoy the IDEA of fixing them all up.
What we have here is someone who knew how to take advantage of the tax code. He probably wrote off a bunch of parts. The government doesn't know what a block is, wink wink.
