The whole thing with Isabella (flower girl) singing in majors instead of minors and overly enunciating is a really excellent piece of character work by Miranda. She's the 'perfect' character, so it makes sense that she would sing her parts 'perfectly.'

If you listen to "What Else Can I Do?" you notice her voice changes as other changes occur which is great story telling through vocals. She has the traditional Disney princess voice in this song.

There's a lot of things Miranda did well with this song. Dolores singing softly, and the fact that they're all singing together in such a way, being that their family name is Madrigal - which is having multiple parts being sung at the same time. I think it's quite a beautiful message for the overarching theme of the movie. They all have their own separate powers/strengths/stories, but they come together as one family - and they're better when they are finally together as one. 😊

5:17 After taking tours of Disney's music department, they quite literally only hire the best of the best musicians when recording music. Even their live performers at Disneyland have to go through a cut throat audition process. When I was in highschool, my drumline coach at the time was also performing at Disneyland and he told me that he had to go through a few auditions just to get the job and 100's of other drummers didn't make the cut, but were still highly skilled/talented. Did no one notice Isabela sings “I’m fine” at the end of the song (at the end of her verses when they all sing)? It’s so creative cause the other singers hide it, and especially with Isabella’s proposal coming up I think she was starting to freak out and of course her song being next where we learn the truth

Lol would make sense that Isabelle would have a whole different chord progression.
She’s the one who is deemed the most perfect one out of her whole family, the one who gets everything she wants, I feel like her chords are major and happier sounding to reflect that.

I absolutely adored the characters. The animation was great, and the music was insanely catchy. WAY better than anything in Frozen.
The only flaw the film has is it kind of wraps up the story too quickly (so they set up these emotionally heavy plot points, but don't give characters enough time to be fleshed out with their emotions).

This song is definetly better because of the animation and the musicians I'v watched that had watched the movie explained how each part of the song is very representative of the character that sings it musically. Like the girl that almost whispers, her gift is super hearing so she always talks in whispers. I like the song Surface Pressure even more than this one because its super smart, different and the voice actress singing it is giving it so much emotions! And the animation is sick and there are so many details that just wont register the first time you watch it.

Please do Surface Pressure! The character has such a unique voice!!! It’s even better than We Don’t Talk About Bruno!

Love this, it’s an ear-worm but ‘surface pressure’ makes me wanna sob everytime I hear, just the emotion in it!

Of course we all know about Lin-Manuel's "Hamilton", and the part where all the characters' parts melt together at the end of this, immediately reminded me of the end of "Non-Stop" in Hamilton, but ALSO reminded me of a song in Lin's other musical "In The Heights" called "Blackout". Almost the entirety of the song is all the characters singing each their part on top of each other, to really emphasize the chaos around them, and it's just SO GOOD!
If you're a fan of Hamilton, Moana and Encanto I can highly recommend giving the "In The Heights" soundtrack a listen!
OH! Also, fun fact: at 1:02 you can actually see Bruno sneak around in the background.

Disney didn't have to make literally every song in Encanto bangers, but they did it anyway

The magic of this song and the whole movie comes Lin Manuel Miranda and his dedication to writting music and going out of his way to find actual Colombian people to help him write andnunderstand not just the music but the culture behind the music he is a musical Genius.

The whole thing with Isabella (flower girl) singing in majors instead of minors and overly enunciating is a really excellent piece of character work by Miranda. She's the 'perfect' character, so it makes sense that she would sing her parts 'perfectly.

When Joel said “there’s so much happening” when Isabela was doing her lil solo he really didn’t know what was coming cause when they were setting the table so many layers!

It's always interesting seeing Joel finding the chords on the piano just by listening to a song!! 🎵🎶

What I like about this reaction is it's not over the top or forced. A lot of creators reacting to Encanto songs stop them every 10 seconds, say "whoa that was so good, let me play that again" and repeat that 10 times and that's like 90% of their video xD

Fun fact: at 5:12 when camilo (the shape shifter) sings "yeah he sees your dream and feasts on your screams) his voice goes higher 👍🏽

THIS IS THE VIDEO I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR AND JOEL, IT WAS BETTER THAN I EXPECTED! Thank you for this, (and maybe we can have a series? with the rest of the songs from Encanto? 👀)
