It's always a huge honour to sit down with Gervais and one that I would not have if it wasn't for this platform. I want to take this moment to say a huge thank you to anybody that has ever supported this channel, you're fucking great. Please do drop a like on the video if you enjoyed it, let me know your thoughts on the interview, and also suggest who you'd like to see next! All the love, and a little hate. x
JaackMaate not a big lover of Ricky Gervais if I’m honest but I’m really chuffed that this happened for you Jack! Loving the content recently and glad the podcasts are back! Louis Theroux next!!
Ricky and Jack both have that utterly Brittish, sarcastic prick, no BS humour that I can't get enough of. They make a good team. Although sometimes I feel Jack is doing every he can to hold back his inner fan boy. 😂
Love how Ricky was treating jack like someone the same level as him , some celebrities are really cocky and they think their better but he talked like they were friends

I absolutely love Ricky Gervais. His don’t give a fuck attitude is soo refreshing. Everyone is too obsessed about being pc nowadays, he really hits the nail on the head at 16:54 - 18:59 . Billy connolly and Ricky Gervais are my two favourite comedians they really are geniuses.
"Why'd the chicken cross the road?" "HEY MY CHICKEN DIED LAST NIGHT MATE" idk why i laughed a lot at this cause its painfully true how comedy is taken now adays
I don’t know how this isn’t trending. What a general interesting & informative video. I think this is the most humble & genuine I’ve ever seen Ricky Gervais! Amazing stuff.
Jack and Ricky Gervais are so similar it’s crazy! When you listen to Ricky speak you can hear the mannerisms and tones that jack has adopted! Absolutely love it!!
Having watched pretty much everything Gervais has done recently, interviews, radio, podcasts etc, it was fantastic and a huge relief to see you get some new, funny, natural things out of him. Gervais has an 'interview mode' where he says the same sort of things answering the same questions, but you were able to change that up. I think that is partly due to your obvious rapport with him. Interviewers always ask him the same sort of questions and so we always get the same 'open wound', 'subject not the target of a joke', 'might be anti the bad thing' in every interview. And whilst he did spend about 10 mins talking about those things that he has tired out now, you got loads of funny things out of him including a few new anecdotes, and you added a few funny things yourself. Really impressed, Jack, keep it up. Edit: Special mention to Nozzer who also had a couple of funny lines. You certainly aren't redundant, as one commenter said, ha ha.
Yeah, Nozzer has always been good at little comments that often go unnoticed. I think he's far more integral that some realise. But I'm glad most do. Also, cheers for your positive feedback.
JaackMaate Takes the pressure off you as well. I'm sure we can all relate to the fact a conversation between 3 people is much less intense than between 2 people. & No probs at all. I really do see you making it as a stand up. Get some gigs booked!
C Tyesixteen Robbie Williams is a great guest, but Jaack has somehow managed to get the biggest worldwide comedian on his podcast. Forget True Geordie, this is a True Madness he's pulled
+Jacob Anderson yeah ignore the fact Geordie had the most successful uk musician ever, the top scoring player in premier league history, the worlds strongest man, ex ufc champion, an actor in the most successful tv series in recent years and many more. Not saying this isn’t amazing but you can’t say this beats true geordie
Your Mother I'm not knocking Geordie at all, I think his podcast is awesome and you're right, he's had some incredible guests. I'm just saying that this booking alone, on paper, is the biggest name we've seen on a 1hr+ podcast so far. Hence why it's a great effort. What's good about Geordie is that he is able to consistently get interesting guests
Jacob Anderson Robbie Williams is more of a household name than Ricky Gervais not only in UK but worldwide. Both are amazing guests and great at their field of work however Robbie Williams is without a doubt the more impressive guest
It never ceases to amaze me how much knowledge and words of wisdom comes from Ricky Gervais inbetween all of his amazing jokes. Can't help but think that Jacks focus into stand up next year was massively inspired by him and Why not! You'll smash it mate !!
These were the days man. Watching some classics on the channel and it’s like revisiting an earlier part of my life. Thanks for all the content you brought us!
Love Ricky and all of his work, nice to see he’s still so down to earth and naturally funny. Would have loved to hear him talk about Steve and Karl though
TheCalcurAmungUs Probably I’ve heard him mention Karl more recently but he hasn’t even acknowledged Steve for years, a shame cause they’re hilarious together
Last year in an interview Steve got asked about the Brent film ‘Life On The Road’ and Steve quickly brushed over the topic saying “It’s one of Ricky’s own projects” and that’s all that has been said in years... Hopefully they’ll join again in the future, in the mean time I’ll just keep listening and watching everything they made over and over again, it never gets boring anyway!!
Great interview. Ricky Gervais is absolutely down to earth ordinary. A real decent human being with a brilliant sense of humour and no snobbery, very likeable guy. Highly intellectual. Well done. Well worth watching.
I’m 13 and I absolutely love the office It’s hilarious and the special has such a conclusion and I know it’s a cliche but it’s an emotional rollercoaster
I have never heard of JaackMaate or this channel, I was looking for more Ricky Gervais online and he is as thoughtful and funny as usual. The interviewer will re-think those trousers in a few years.
Ricky is bloody right about complaining. I worked in a call centre and after customers ranted and shouted, they were totally fine. Twitter is now just that but on mass. We need to stop listening to the vocal sh!t stirrers and let edgy comedy breathe, like it once did.
As an American who love Gervais, it's really great to hear his dialect change when he's speaking with like countrymen. One of the best interview, ever.
My audience is friends and acquaintances and, to avoid hurt and rejection, I’ve worked on and considered alot to make good humour. To hear the works and kindness of one of the greatest was SUCH a treat! God i enjoyed this! Cheers you lot
Wow. You had Ricky! I just stumbled across this. I love a long interview and still wanting more at the end. I’m hitting subscribe. You are a great interviewer!
Guys ~ hats off to a terrific interview. I laughed until I cried... you were fantastic in how you allowed this to unfold organically. Your ease and appreciation of Gervais upped the energy and made for wonderful entertainment. What an incredible soul and human being he is. Thank you👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽⚡️✨💫
Longtime watcher, first time comment - from Australia! You're actually hilarious, witty, clever and after watching your 'opinions on 25 topics' video I've realised are a genuinely good dude. I love that your content is polarising but you 99% of the time have a point haha!! Keep making great content + love Ricky Gervais what an opportunity!
Megladon Mike. We know but someone didn’t and they commented saying something like “wow social distancing” and what we’re saying is that we are trying to find that comment
That was such an amazing video! Ricky is so natural around you two and it doesn't feel like he has to talk to an interviewer. It all just seems like a few mates having a great time! Really hope to see him again on your channel :) And thanks for your first video with him - you were the one that introduced Ricky Gervais into my life. I probably would never have heard of him until this podcast :)
Gervais a genuies. .....Slightly off the point ...I've got a really really small willy. Plus and this is embarrassing I've got a tiny flap of skin on my bumhole. Not fair mun!?
Unfucking believable. First TG with shearer and now Jaackmaate with Ricky Gervais.awesome podcast. Gervais was hilarious as always and jack and nozzer were quality as usual. So pleased and happy to see the success jack is having on yt and this podcast with his personal comedy hero is testament to that. Well fucking done jack so made up for you. It's mental. Unreal.
“How people pander to people have changed...” this one of the most poignant things he said for me, it’s what I’m always thinking these days, it’s exactly like he said, writing a letter by hand and sending it by post actually took some effort, so you really did have to care enough to be mad more than 30 seconds to “make a complaint”... people “tweeting” really means nothing, and should mean next to nothing in the real world.
Can't believe they got Gervais, never heard of these interviewers before but this guy Jaack is a talented and honest interviewer, I'm a fan now and gonna subscribe for sure. Keep it up, best of luck!
I'm a bit late in the game but I've been watching a lot of Ricky Gervais' interviews and this one is by far the most relaxed and flowing one, the banter is great and you are all funny!
Just finished watching the entire thing, complete glued to the screen. Gervais is so interesting to listen to. And you were the perfect interviewer, Jack. Thank you so much for uploading this!
Good shit. One of the best interviews he's given for ages, not coming out with the same stuff because he's been asked the same questions again. Props to you guys!
This is my first time seeing this as a long time Ricky fan, his pod casts all his shows and movies and his stand up and obviously his golden globe moments and this made me very happy, and its my first time on your page jack and it for sure wont be the last
Ricky: "there was a guy who was interviewed and then the documentary was titled Life Losers, and he wasn't aware that was the title" Also Ricky: *doesn't tell Karl Pilkington about the title "An Idiot Abroad"*

Gervais dropped a WHOLE lot of gold advice in the hour. I hope you go back through with a note pad and open mind and cash in on what he's said. Outright and between the lines. Great interview, fellas, this was fun to watch!
Fantastic interview, funny, serious, informative and interesting. Just come from listening to the old XFM shows to this, what a transformation we see in Gervais. Gives me hope for myself
whys ricky still not got karl or steve on HIS podcast.. Ik him and steve are not mates rn but that would then surely make it all the more interesting, the tension and snappiness, and us lot would get an explenation

Just come from listening to the old XFM shows to this, what a transformation we see in Gervais.
Gives me hope for myself
