I have a 1979 penny no mint mark, and when you reflect the shine from the penny, there are multiple dark lines that goes through Lincoln. Does the dark line indicate error in the material or anything like that because it’s very noticeable.
Hey Blue Ridge. So I'm pretty knew to the Coin Collecting Community. My mom has always been into it and has a pretty nice collection. I collect mainly Pennies, anything under 1999, considering on the condition, I keep it. What really got me into it was my mom telling me about the 1983 transitional pennies. Especially, the 1983 penny error struck on copper weighing 3.1 that sold for i think $23,000!!!! I was so astonished by that and intrigued I started watching ytube videos n researching everything on coin collecting n I've been hooked every since, that was about 2yrs. Ago now. But anyways long story short, I think I have a pretty nice collection so far. I may even have some pretty valuable coins, double dies, large and small dates in 82's, wide and close A M's but I just can't really tell, especially when it comes to double dies I just can't see it. So my question is where can I take my whole collection and have it looked at and have my coins graded??? I really rather not send them through the mail anywhere, I would really like to just take my collection to somebody in person. Is that possible? Do people do that? Any information will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Just watched your unplated cent video. We found a 1977 penny that looks like a steel cent. We're thinking of submitting it to NGC for metallurgical analysis. Any ideas?
The past few months l've gotten several Coins that are like new. Today, l got a 1979p penny in great condition, so l checked your video. It's free of any marks and right off the mintage like red.
i just found 79' -P and the entire word "Liberty" and the date "1979" are completely doubled. Is it valuable, should i try to have it graded ?

Hi blueridge..your videos are amazing and informative .in the next month or so will be sending off one dime and 3 pennies to be graded....I just haven't narrowed it down to which ones yet..cross my fingers they come back with a good grade...in my most recent 25 dollar penny box..I got some beautiful examples from 60s 70s and 80s and 90s

I've gotta beg to differ on this one. i love the 70s. there are tons of varieties and errors. in 2018, i sold on ebay, the 1970 JFK D half dollar rpm, the 1971S proof rpm cent, the 1973 D DDO JFK, 1976S silver proof DDO JFK and also 1976S silver proof DDO Ike, 1970S proof 5 cent DDO and a few others. i inspect my pocket change but all of these were pulled from mint unc or proof sets, i do pretty well with the early 1970s.

Whats the cost of getting coined graded or can you walk into a special place and get it graded ,??
Elliott J check to see when a major coin show close to you at a big city. PCGS and GNC most of the time send representatives to the show and set up a table and can grade them there on location. Call the show director and they should be able to tell you if a grading company is going to have a table there.
Thats actually lot better then sending them in less its costly to set up a table for a lay out of about 3 bucks total in my coin colection but if its of any value well worth it my girlfriends coins are alot older then mine

Extremely high grade...you said that the 70's coins we're largely disappointing...what about the search for the 1970 Doubled Die...or the 71's coming out now...I think the 70's are just cranking up as far as discoveries are concerned... opinion?
