IS-3 was not finished in time to see service in WW2, but appeared right afterwards in September of 1945. Had it been finished in time then it would have been a game changer in many ways, almost impervious from the long 88mm from the front.

I understand the thrill for some people to have these massive beasts like the IS3 or the jagtiger but the real question is : does it bring anything good to the gameplay or does it bring just more meta elements. The biggest issue is that all tier 5 tanks will be useless unless they create a tier 6 (but can they do that properly at the moment? they still didn't fix tier 3). Also a side note towards the jagtiger, it won't be that good in enlisted vs the IS3. First the lack of turret (duh), weak armor on the side which will be easily pierced by any tanks or infantry, slow and sluggish(apart from the weak reload, the IS3 has none of these issues). I believe most people will play this tank far away from the battlefield, basically camping (and yes being obliterated by bombs) so I really don't think it brings anything interesting to the gameplay.
I suspect if they bring in a BR6 that's when they are going to do the Korean War as other than the early jets and some interesting tanks most of the guns are more or less the same

@michaelkeha if they really do so, there would need to be a major rework of all weapons out there. Because tier 5 weapons are already irrealist laser beams and I don't really see how modern stuff would be better. The way I see it is that they should separate the ww2 chapter and create a new kind of campaign with new factions in the cold War era. (And not necessarily take real scenarios, but nato vs Warsaw pact so that there's a lot of freedom)
@@afrenchdude5331 Well for the Korean War the guns literally don't change from what's in the game other than getting a bunch of post war French stuff and maybe the Ak 47 that's why that war isn't much of an issue it's purely a tank and plane upgrade
also i feel like enlisted is focusing too much on vehicles, yeah its a combined arms game and both planes and tanks should be included but both are meant to support infantry and must support infantry to win, lets keep it that way and not turn the game into tank battles with infantry support, rather the other way round

I think a larger focus on more maps that are larger, with more unique objectives, etc. should be focused on more than both vehicle and Infantry weapons. A new jadgtiger is cool don't get me wrong, but new maps has much more potential to change the game for the better as well as just add more fun.

I'd rather later year light tanks/scout vehicles be more used. There's not enough vehicles used for direct infantry support or a IFV role. like the Luchs ausf. L or the M22 Locust.

If they start adding vehicle that never saw action in WW2 such as the IS3 we will eventually be playing the Vietnam war instead of WW2. It should not happen if we want the game to be a WW2 game.
enlisted already add a lot of ww2 era contents, which i feel like about 1,2 years of ww2 contents before devs finish the ww2 era and if they do the same as war thunder then i can see they expand the game to vietnam war era to cold war era and of course modern war era.
After reading the comments and all their excitement and concerns. Super heavy tanks needs to be slow and not have the engine power to climb hills and mountains. All for the sake of balance. I should know how to balance it as I am a proud grey zone tank player who have gotten the nickname ”mountain goat” I also want China faction in Enlisted and I’m deeply devoted towards getting it.
There are lots of gaps in the tech tree I would like to see more low to mid tier goodies. It can’t be too much work to add weapons and vehicles though we need more maps.
I’m happy for the IS3 because I’ve always said as long as the weapons & equipment are from the time period I’m happy. Yes Ik the Cold War isn’t WWII but it’s not like they are adding leopards or futuristic tanks they are only adding one or two Cold War vehicles which obviously the Cold War started right after WWII ended so it’s not crazy to see them there in WWII. In my opinion it’s just a what if scenario at that point where it’s a what if Russia produced the IS3 during WWII which is kinda cool if you ask me.
They did produce one, but troops didn't get it until July. And it would be a completely overpowering monster. No German or Japanese tank is even close to equal to it. Should not be added.

It’s gonna be the same thing with the IS3 get a 75mm gun or if that doesn’t work point blank it on the side with a bigger calibres it’s not that hard. People think it’s impossible to knock out a tank the second they see it’s got good armour but fail to realize the side & rear are usually always weaker.

Anyway, AT weapons would be just about useless against it, and even most BR V tanks couldn't penetrate it without a flank, which would rarely be possible. IS-3 would have best armor in game, an incredibly good gun, with every other stat being at least average. And there's no vehicle that can be added that rivals it. They're already stretching the ropes to make Japan capable of competing against tanks like Jumbos. IS-3 makes Manchuria impossible, and puts Germany at an unfair disadvantage in armor. This also disrupts game balance, because Germanys strength is their tanks. Though every country has good infantry, the Soviets simply have the best. German AT weapons with Soviet assault rifles and SMGs and likely the 3 best event squads in enlisted as well as having competitive aircraft and also having armor that far outmatches every other nation? It can't happen. It would completely ruin high tier for Germany.

If you have a powerful enough gun your gonna be able to penetrate the side of an IS3 sorry but I don’t think you know how to properly hit flanks & take out high BR tanks.
I think Korea, which is basically an epilogue of WW2 equipment would be great to match USA vs “USSR”, since China used a lot of Soviet equipment. Also, it gives Soviet players a break from constantly playing against German players

Note: the SU and ISU were designed as infantry support, but when the Sovs figured out how good they were at killing tigers they changed their minds
