    100%...Back in the day when I was building my book on down time I never stopped.I remember clients asking my boss"who is that girl ? She never stop doing things." {like everything from dusting product shelfs to organizing what ever needed it to cutting manikins and wigs. Believe me in time everyone knew my name and want to sit in my chair .} Funny I still do all of that. But Sam I come from the same cloth as you its called Passion. I would die if I didnt touch do hair. Love you Sam !!

      This is glorious, I've been looking for "what attracts a man to a woman long term" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Weyrayden Qiyvelyn Framework - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother in law got amazing success with it.

    Thanks for sharing Sam. I felt the exact way as you describe once when I walked pass one particular salon. It made me feel like my hair will be safe in that hair stylist's hands.

    I love taking my manikin head out and working at my station when I don't have anybody. And it's really no mistake why I chose to have a station close to my boss. I practice 2 stations over from her. One time recently I was practicing, and I heard one of her guests asking about what I was doing. My boss goes; "oh he's practicing his technique." BAM!! DO. IT!

      Hey! A lot of times older stylists tend to be resistant to change. Sometimes for good reason. They have been doing what is comfortable for a long time, and what they are doing is working so why change? You know you need to grow but it is much more difficult to try and grow when you are comfortable than when you start from nothing and have nothing to lose. My best advice is to look at the clientele that you have. Are they your ideal clientele? If half are and half are not, and really drain you, it is time to make a change! Here are some strategies I used to build my dream clientele after leaving the comfort of having a full paying clientele a few different times! ❤️ ruclips.net/video/TMjqVOBTEtI/видео.html

    I love your attitude! I was an in-house advanced educator in a salon and discovered a passion for sharing what I've learned in almost 30 years behind the chair. A few years ago I went to a hair show in Chicago with the salon owner I was working for at the time and after walking around to see what other companies were offering on the first day, I spent most of the 2nd day and all of the 3rd planted in front of your stage watching you and Andrew. Luckily, I actually had the chance to meet you and have a drink. I'm a quiet person in general and honestly, was a little star struck so I didn't say much. I was so impressed with how down to earth you were and how easy it was to be around you. Thank you!
    I'm looking for some advice on a subject that doesn't seem to get talked about too much. I've just moved to a new area. I have no clientele and I don't really know anyone here. I lined up a job in a salon with the same product line as the company I was an educator for before I moved and started there almost immediately. I've been there almost a month and I'm thinking this salon may not be the right fit for me for various reasons. I don't want to hop around from salon to salon. I could interview with multiple salons but I've found they'll tell you what they want you to hear. Not to toot my own horn but I'm experienced, I'm not about drama, I love what I do and I'd love to get back into some form of in-house education. I don't need to be on a stage, I just want to learn and share. I thought that was what I was getting into with my current salon but it seems as though that isn't the case. Any thoughts or insight from anyone would be greattly appreciated! Than you.

    • @samvillahair
      @samvillahair  6 лет назад

      Hi Becca!
      We would definitely agree that "hopping around' is bad for biz! It may be worth your time to discuss some of your concerns with the owner at the current salon to see if you can find more happiness there. If you can't seem to make things work there... be honest, make a clean break, and then start interviewing at other salons. That can be hard because there is downtime, but your reputation will stay clean and thats important in a new town.

    • @beccahurley5989

      @@samvillahair Thank you so much for responding! This is my least favorite task but, it seems as though the interviews need to begin. I hope you have an amazing day!

      Hi Melissa,
      The great thing about our current world is that social media is available to everyone! Nothing beats the good old fashioned technique of personal connection though. Really push your friends and family to help promote and develop a good habit of asking each and every client for referrals... reward them with a referral program so they have added motivation.

  • @lisapatino1616

    See that is the kind of negative remarks that will hurt you! Is that stealing a client? No , it isn't . You own no one! People can spend their money any way they choose. They can make an appointment with anyone they want! That's your job to keep up on your career and do what you love and do it well. If you are passionate about what you are doing , you should have people dying to get in your chair and that one client should not make an impact on you at all! Buck up buttercup !!

    People should learn professionalism and Take managerial skills before hiring anyone in their salons. It's very uncomfortable to work alongside someone who speaks negative of their staff behind their back or show a negative attitude towards them. Opening a door with negative personality is a line down destruction road
