he has a bias and mostly he interpret the study incorrectly.. high protein diet more heart disease/vascular disease. low protein other disease. you have to die from something.
Hey Mike! Love your content! I'm from Toronto, but I spend my life traveling now and am currently in Argentina. It's difficult to follow an animal based diet and completely avoid seed oils while traveling, but I do my best. Argentina is a dream for carnivores or someone looking to follow an ABD. I'm 60 and have never been on any meds, and I'm lovin life. Take care
Agree with this video totally, at 62, I’m trying my best to consume as much protein as possible and less carbs. IMO, Kale is bad, like Swiss chard, spinach, sweet potatoes because of oxalates.
Are you tracking your morning blood sugar? You can definitely overeat protein which turns to glucose, just like carbs. Track to see how you’re really doing with metabolic health. Most people under eat fat, try to find an animal fat that’s palatable and work up to a few ounces a day
@@carriesingI haven’t monitored my morning glucose level for a while now but the last time I did it was super low as I was doing very strict clean KETO and OMAD. 😘
I just ate 4 eggs. 24 grams of protein. Unless I push lots of grains into my mouth, 100 grams of protein is just a pipe dream most days for me as a vegetarian. If you're a meat eater, eat up. Protein is the longevity wonder
Why not eat meat? It doesn’t take much; a few ounces a day plus a few ounces of animal fat is all you need. Grains as well as other carbs are only going to give you problems over time and you don’t get to choose which ones will develop.
The study didn't state how many vegetables and fruits were also included in the diets. A balanced diet of protein, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, and beans and legumes is the way to go. Just drop the refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, white flour, vegetable/seed oils, and ultra processed stuff.
Remember that preventing cancer and treating cancer may be completely different things. Something might be beneficial for one, but detrimental to the other. In this case amino acids or more specifically: specific amino acids.
Wow..i never considered that human studies can be comparing unhealthy individuals to less healthy individuals. i guess i forgot how uncommon it is to prioritize health in our nation Thank you for pointing that out
I’m 53 and I noticed when I turned 50 that the men around my age have started to pass away, only 1 of my female friends has died. I feel like a lot of epidemiology is tainted by this large amount of middle age men who have heart attacks. They were all smokers and drinkers the ones I knew.
Frailty is to me the Groucho Marx secret word. Low or very low protein may lead to other poor choices of diet (sugar) and lifestyle habits. Mike Wallace Falls, WA
Actually, the *Golestan study discussed in this video said high protein diets were harmful to middle aged people* under age 65. Why did you just glance over that? The exact words from the study, which you quoted. "While *high amino acid diets were detrimental in middle-aged adults (
Yeah... epidemiology with hazard ratio of less than 2 can be dismissed outright without looking into it further, and even with 2-4 you still need a good underlying explanation and experimental/controlled studies. I certainly subscribe to the idea of a decent amount of protein, but I try to be consistent with my approach to epidemiology
Any suggestions for people with kidney disease, or preventions thereof? So many folk in my world who have had diabetes lead to kidney disease claiming they need to go low protein. Hoping to avoid this trajectory myself. Thanks in advance. Not a smoker.
From the data I've seen, even people with kidney disease are better of with a decent amount of protein than lower amounts, especially animal proteins. Protein and cholesterol are how we build cells and regenerate after all.
Maybe check out Low Carb to begin with? Dr Benjamin Bikman explains key elements really thoroughly. An addition would be learning about Intermittant Fasting (&/or) time restricted eating. Dr Jason Fung is a nephrologist who started recommending fasting to prevent kidney disease in type 2 diabetics. Just some ideas of places to start. All the best! ❤
Look at this video from Dr. Shawn Baker. There are several patient stories of kidney disease improvement on the Carnivore diet. ruclips.net/user/shortsSWgg3Etrkqk?si=tXVQq1iDFLSr4Oyp
Protein (animal based) and fat (saturated) go well together. Carbs(like from Fruits) are there to fatten ourselfs for winter. Plants are substitute when nothing else is there.
There's a recent Cell-Metabolism paper "Amino acid is a major carbon source for hepatic lipogenesis" showing that "high-protein intake doubled the risk of developing MASH, similar to that observed with medium/high-fat intake".. However the paper also mentioned "The effect of dietary protein on metabolic health appears biphasic, as a high-protein diet (≥35% kcal) could reduce fat deposition in the whole body and liver." So the definition of "high" protein and macronutrients composition background (fat vs. carb) decides the outcome.
I am trying to find the book about the heavy metals en amazon, i do not see it, i think i am not spelling the right way. I did find the book by Velasquez-Manoff. Thank you so much for all your videos.

Doctor Jason Fung most recetly uploaded a video(I recommend people to watch it)that contradicts the traditional belief that someone engaged in weight training needs 1.6 to 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, as this is considered the optimal amount to repair micro-damage through protein synthesis. In contrast, a sedentary person typically requires just 0.8 g per kilogram of body weight. He explains that 0.8 g upto 1 g per kilogram of body weight is sufficient to build muscle and anything extra ingested protein turns to glucose and stored in the cells so body utilises even even little amount of protein most effectively without having to take so much protein It is the only video uploaded on his channel on RUclips that recommends the most little amount of protein needs to be taken while here on youtube vast majority of muscle building videos explain that those who train need to consume even upto 2.5 g/kg of body justifying it referencing to various studies
It's just one study and in Golestan of all places. I had to google that place, it's apparently a province in Iran. I eat a protein rich diet, but I doubt this is going to convince the nay-sayers.
FYI almost all diets are low in complete amino acids. Your only getting as much protein per day as the weakest amount of any specific amino acid. Basic biochemistry! Eggs and steak for the win again!
Protein contains Glycogen, excess Glycogen is processed through the kidneys, dehydration visa vi supplements is the probable focal point of organ stress. . .
I raised 75k and Kate Elizabeth Becherer is to be thanked. I got my self my dream car just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York City
I know that woman (Kate Elizabeth Becherer) If you were born and raised in new York you'd know too, she's my family's Broker for 3yrs till now and a very good one if you asked me. No doubt she is a good woman.
I say this all the time.... the only study that is a true study would be if you locked up at least 200 people in a complex and monitored absolutely everything they ever did. To say too much protein when we're young is unhealthy but not when we're older is just stupid! Nature doesn't support that. Just because a pointless study reaches that conclusion doesn't make it fact.....
Mike you deserve commendation for your enthusiastic delivery of a consistent message.
he has a bias and mostly he interpret the study incorrectly.. high protein diet more heart disease/vascular disease. low protein other disease. you have to die from something.
Another great podcast Mike!! I’m keeping to 1 gram per lb of ideal weight. I just feel better. (66 yrs old)

This was probably one of the most informative videos for me from you yet! Thank you for spreading the good word 😌
Great stuff thow observationstudy, big hugs from Sweden ❤
Agree with this video totally, at 62, I’m trying my best to consume as much protein as possible and less carbs. IMO, Kale is bad, like Swiss chard, spinach, sweet potatoes because of oxalates.
All these are healthy foods
Kale isn't high in Oxalates like the others you mention. Oxalate tolerance is also very personal, we all have different gut microbiomes
Cooking vegetables like spinach can significantly reduce oxalates

What about cheese?
Greek yogurt?
Why not eat meat? It doesn’t take much; a few ounces a day plus a few ounces of animal fat is all you need. Grains as well as other carbs are only going to give you problems over time and you don’t get to choose which ones will develop.
So have 4 eggs a couple times a day? Plus, add the dairy if you eat that.
Cheese and yogurt is also miniscule if you're trying to get to 100. Grains are not worth the tradeoff
The study didn't state how many vegetables and fruits were also included in the diets.

Versions, fruits, nuts, seeds and grains are not needed and are the problem.

Dr Gabriel Lyon got me eating a 50 g minimum per meal. I honestly feel best I eat 1 lb or more of beef per meal, which is over 84 g of protein
I'm 62 and I feel better when I eat more protein less carbs.

I'm with Dr. Paul. We don't need kale. We don't need any veggies. If you like them, by all means. Do we need them? No.
You don't need to slow down your speaking, we can make the video slower from this videos settings on the right upper corner

Is it possible to complement with consuming EAA ?
But are the low protein diets also high carb?
Great question!
To eat more eggs I make a raw egg shake. Gotta get the leucine in the morning for protein synthesis after a night of catabolism.

I USED KALE 1 YEAR, EVERY DAY IN SHAKE WITH BANANA AND WATER. I STARTED TO BECOME TIRED AFTER DRINKING IT, UNABLE TO TRAIN, I HAD TO STOP
Study link?

Got it on 2x speed sounds clear
$75k biweekly changed my mindset and behavior, my goals, my family and I've to say this video has inspired me a lot!!!!
God bless you more abundantly for your generosity
But then, what do you do? How do you come about that in that period?
Thanks to Mrs Kate Elizabeth

Red meat is a superfood. Eat it every day!
Kale blocks iodine whole family does then theres the oxalates 😂
Everything in moderation? Not for me. I want the most health, not moderate health.
Yes!!!!
Finally!!
I hate that stupid phrase to justify stupid choices
Love this ❤
New study today newer study tomorrow take all that with a grain of salt
had a steak last night and eggs this morning
Eggs are the best fast food. You can make an omelette in 3 minutes.
Oh, but make sure you get that “protein “ from those beans and lentils…🤨
Plus type of protein matters
Animal protein I stay full.
Vegan protein I will snack
You don't read too fast, people can put the speed down if they can't follow your organic speed of talk.
Plant protein 💚💚💚
Kale can cause gorders.
Have your genetics tested before you listen to this guys simplistic podcast

You can't put anyone on whatever diet for a month and determine whether the diet worked or didn't work. Our bodies will always seek homeostasis and that takes at least a month to resolve.
To say too much protein when we're young is unhealthy but not when we're older is just stupid! Nature doesn't support that. Just because a pointless study reaches that conclusion doesn't make it fact.....
Even if you did all that you can’t control for different responses in individuals. Nothing will ever apply to everyone.
Kale isn't good for anyone's guts.
Why aren't you carnivore?
Stupid study
Nutritional facts org real science, completely the opposite of this study
Yeah. Greger with a protein deficiency...
Yes , Actual Evidence !
I too LOVE kale, especially in the form of crispy kale chips baked in olive oil. Unfortunately, kale does not like ME! 🥬 😢😮
