My goal was getting my 2nd Category licence last year. Had been through allot of personal troubles outside of cycling but kept chasing those precious points 😆 Had just one point left to get at the end of the season, and just clinched it at my last race, phew! Naturally its going to be the same again for 1st cat this year- bring it on 🦁
Everesting La Luz! The hill once defeated me (couldn't make it up once the first time rode it), then it broke me (first attempt to Everest failed), but dedication and obsession paid off. Although most would consider me too big to be a true climber, I was the first to Everest in my home state of New Mexico.
Glad you’re feeling better. What a great facility in Manchester. I’ve watched a video of a UCI World Cup bmx race from there. I raced on the velodrome when I was younger. I find track racing as fun to watch as it is to do
My goal last year was to complete the hardest Granfondo in the world, the little known Alpenbrevet in Switserland, 173km and 5100m of climbing! I suffered alot but wasn't completely after it. The next goal was a week later, my first Cyclosportive: La Charly Gaul in Luxembourg, I wanted to finish in the first 250 and at least 30km/u. I came back from Switserland with great legs, finished it at 184th place at 33,7km/u!
My first century ride in 50 years. Last time I rode 100 miles on a bike was when I was 15. This year riding a 100 mile ride in Crete for charity, 3000m of climbing to boot as well. Had a break from cycling for about 10 years plus then found my mojo again about 4 years ago, has been a hard ride back so to speak.
Got to 100 miles in 2016 (RideLondon) which was a great achievement for me at the time. I am now training/riding with my brother so he can achieve the same this year, having bought his first road bike in January.
Quality vlog as always my cycling goal is to smash Ride London. Since mid January I've gone from 117kg to 111kg. I'm hoping to go sub 100kg before my 50th in March.
an ftp of 4 watts per kilo. it completely changed how i feel about my cycling abilities and how confident i am on my bike or when i am in a race. i did two 10-week training plans before finally achieving it. now i feel good enough to compete in the maratona, the velothon berlin or the roubaix amateur race ...
Hello Cycling Weekly, I am a passionate cyclist from India. I think I am the youngest subscriber to your channel, I am 15 years old. Previous year I participated in a local cycling race and bagged the first position (I HAD A NON GEAR CYCLE), which I thought was a big achievement for me, so I started cycling daily for an hour & pushing hard. All that hate which I got, made me stronger and by this time I realized that yes, if I work hard I can make it to the top and if not top surely a better version of myself and i became, that year I covered 705 km in 4 months. Now there was no stepping back for me, I started preparing for 2018, I made a whole 15 page file which includes everything that will help me in becoming a better version of myself and to complete more than 1000 km on my bike. ( I CAN MAIL YOU THE FILE) Not only this much I have also joined a local cycling group with which I will go cycling for long distances on weekends. I am really working hard and I am serious. Everyone at school considers me as mad also I am an introvert, so it sometimes gets really hard for me to express myself, but then IF YOUR GOALS SET YOU APART FROM THE CROWD, STAND ALONE! I hope Cycling Weekly reads my comment. Looking for a positive reply from @CyclingWeekly ;)
I have risen my local track league on an off for a few year. In 2017 I wanted to get a few points I didn't expect much. Ended up winning 20k league for my group! Working hard for this year's league!
Biggest goal and achievement was doing the 2016 La Marmotte. Managed to finish just inside the gold medal limit. Current goal is to recover from second clavicle fracture in 3 years. Currently awaiting surgery. Hope to be back on the bike soon and doing some crit races in the summer!
On for the Dunwich Dynamo later this year. Haven't completed it but seemingly on target for doing it. You should come, Ollie; though it involves starting in That London. In terms of stuff I HAVE done, it may be controversial as its dirty dirty Mountain Biking - probably an MBR Killer Loop in the Lake District? I didn't set out with that in mind, though - aim was "complete this bike ride sorted by my brother" and it turned out he'd picked a Killer Loop and not told me, fearing I'd say no. He told me afterwards in the pub. Good psychological trick, that.
In 2011 I retired from 41 years working as. a lineman. I set a goal to win the Michigan State ( 🇺🇸) Masters 60-64 Championship. After training really hard that spring I did win it and it felt brilliant ! Hope I win the contest :-) D. Ide
Most proud of completing the Everest Challenge with my collegiate team November of 2016. 14 hours in the saddle with a wonky knee wasn't my smartest moment, but definitely one of my favorites!
I started riding in 2017. Mountain Biking, my goal was to do a olympic distance triathlon... ( the bike part is always the most fun )... and now to a half ironman in 8 months.
In 2015, when I was doing 34min up a 5km 10% climb I wanted to ride up it in 28min in an event 3 months from that time. I did a lot of work to try to achieve that. My official event time was 28min 9sec, but my unofficial Strava time was 27min 52sec. I was very chuffed about that.
Biggest goal would have to be doing my first 100. It had been there for a while and to finally do it with relative ease from some some good training was pretty sweet
I used to have an horrible fear of dogs which was stopping me doing long rides on country roads. My goal was to beat that fear to ride my bike on those beautiful lanes which i managed to do exactly that this summer. I even screamed first few times but i got used to it somehow and now i have no fear whatsoever.
My goal last year, in my first year of competitive cycling, having come from rowing, was a sub 22 min and sub 60 min 10 mi and 25 mi BUCS TT. Put in a 21:55 and a 59:55, the latter without a TT lid. Not the fastest times but i was happy to have broken into the sport at a decent level.
My proudest goal(s) was to complete a 3 day charity bike ride and raise $3,500 for cancer research. I was proud to have completed the ride but even prouder that those affected by cancer will benefit from the money I have raised as a result!
My goal was to get to Cat 2 a year after I started cycling, Just about managed it! This year the goals to get ye ol' ftp up to 5.3 W/kg btw That is super interesting stuff from Dan! finding watts everywhere!
Goal for me was to go from never riding a road bike to touring with a mate across the Pyrenees, with only three months of training to get fit enough... Stupid goals count too right?
My goal was to get to a level we’re I could race A4 last year I achieved that goal finishing in several top 10s, also being awarded by my local club novice of the year 👌🏻 let’s do this 2018 season
Little bit late but my goal for this year was to take a title at Canadian U17 National Championships, unfortunately i didnt get one i got 3 second places. I was on track in the points race to till i got crashed out coming around to get the final sprint 😔.
My goal for this year (1st week o June) is to become a member of the 'The Club des Cinglés du Mont-Ventoux' and complete the three ascents of Ventoux in 24h. #cantwaitforthesunandwind
Oliver Bridgewood you can get a restart for pursuit events but they're generally for the more 'serious' mechanicals than a pulled wheel, it's quite discretionary though
My goal was to do this race www.nordsjorittet.no/en in under 3 hours. The first time I did this race was 7 years ago and it took me 4 hours and 17 mins. Last year i beat my goal and set a time of 2 hours and 47 mins. Hopefully i'll be able to be this time again and win my age Group.

I like that bike review - quick, into the details, you should hire that guy!

Although most would consider me too big to be a true climber, I was the first to Everest in my home state of New Mexico.
My goal was and still is to help develop a friendly cycling community in my local area 👌🏼
First class piece of journalism Ollie.

Team KGF are an inspiration for me, saw them when I raced in Suisse and they just looked really cool and crazy fast!

Really interesting video, great to see something different with the track coverage 👍

Another Wierd Guy
Keep up the good work. See ya in the olympics.

My goal last year was to do a century ride. I did it in August
Despite me dying I achieved it and I felt great afterwards

Good psychological trick, that.
I'm 13, and my goal was to make it to the top 3 in a Velodrome London youth Track League race, and I did it!
When I was 13 in 2016, I set myself the challenge of cycling 100 miles for charity and I completed it and was very happy 👍
In 2011 I retired from 41 years working as. a lineman. I set a goal to win the Michigan State ( 🇺🇸) Masters 60-64 Championship.

Nice work, which climb did you do it on?
Cheaha, the highest point in Alabama, USA.
you know brian toone ? think he diid cheaha climb aswell
I have ridden with him on several occasions. Great guy!
Getting on the all time fastest lists for 10 and 25 TTs has to be mine, started the year with a 22min pb for 10 and having never done a proper 25 TT.
My goal is to fully recover from my double knee injury and to work my way closer and closer to going pro
I started riding in 2017. Mountain Biking, my goal was to do a olympic distance triathlon... ( the bike part is always the most fun )... and now to a half ironman in 8 months.

Manchester awesome city. Love it

Set a goal in 2014 to cycle across France, which myself and two friends managed in 6 days and raised over £3k for Prostate Cancer UK
I think Ollie's goal was to try and find the exit of that park!
My goal was to make it in this vlog: 9:36 you can see me wave 😂😂
haha! top work.
My proudest goal(s) was to complete a 3 day charity bike ride and raise $3,500 for cancer research. I was proud to have completed the ride but even prouder that those affected by cancer will benefit from the money I have raised as a result!
First! Wanted to comment first and did it, quite a cycling goal I guess. Mission completed!
2017's goal was to go sub 12 in the flying 200, so now I'm searching for another .4 of a second to break 11.5 and 2018's marker
I apologise Ollie, I was floating around in the background of some of your vids, I should have come and said Hi when you had a minute
come say hi next time!
My goal was to get to Cat 2 a year after I started cycling, Just about managed it!
This year the goals to get ye ol' ftp up to 5.3 W/kg
btw That is super interesting stuff from Dan! finding watts everywhere!

Climbing to the top of Mt Hotham Victoria Australia 2000 meters high. I have never climbed that high in my life.
Not like the good old days when you just rode the bike you had n saw who was best. So much has changed since I competed there just 15 years ago.
My goal was to get to a level we’re I could race A4 last year I achieved that goal finishing in several top 10s, also being awarded by my local club novice of the year 👌🏻 let’s do this 2018 season

Last. It was hard work, but I knew I could pull it off. #Believe
Hire that guy, now!
3rd. but also 2nd 2 ppl are calming 1st haha
Be seeing you
My cycling goal is to get under 3hours for the cycling leg of a team half ironman event! Last year 3hours 11 minutes!🤓
I am going to do the Philippe Gilbert Classic this spring (141 km and 2393 height meters)
Ssooo when did Ollie move from gcn to cycling weekly
Moses Cortes it was the other way round
how many times have track races been restarted for a mechanical ? I see it happen loads of times, why not here ?
Good question. Mechanicals can cause a restart in Sprint events, but not in the pursuit i am told.
Oliver Bridgewood you can get a restart for pursuit events but they're generally for the more 'serious' mechanicals than a pulled wheel, it's quite discretionary though
thanks for the clarification
86th... boom !!!
hahaha
I think the 100% Me team should have another sponsor. 4iiii
I just want to win something... i dont care what it is, or how it happens but it will happen
560w for 4 min and a bit
Who's your favourite KGF rider?
Sneezy
Why does ollie always look like he’s doing something naughty?
Wow is the first bloack on something? Don't get be wrong he seems cool but man the words are just poring out of his mouth
Quarqs don't need a magnet... just sayin.
They also don't sample at a high enough rate... but the issue was actually a magnet for the speed sensor which was impossed on the rider...
