Yeah, I love it. It has great lyrics and a powerful emotion to it. I’m always happy when Rotting Christ offer up something awesome. The guest vocals from Borknagar are phenomenal.
Triarchy is probably one of the greatest ever. Those melodies on that one are just the best! I have not heard it in a while, I need to dig that out. Thanks for reminding me of such a great album!
Thanks for watching and commenting. The guitar is a Solar Pyro from the first run. It was the 6th one made. It has a 3 piece roasted maple neck; bolt on with a burned ash body. It's honestly one of the nicest guitars I have.
Yeah , I was a huge fan of "Thy Mighty Contract" as well. To be honest I thought some of the songs on "Thy Mighty Contract" sounded better on the "Ades Wings" demo that came out before it but either way I loved the album as well. I think my only issue with Thy Mighty Contract was I was so use to hearing the demo versions of "Fgementh, Thy Gift," and "The Fourth Knight of Revelation (1 & 2)," those 2 songs never sounded right to me because I thought the demo sounded better and I had the demo before the album came out. As for the rest of their discography I liked everything up until A Dead Poem. I didn't come back to the band until "Theogonia,' which I thought was a great return to form. Everything they have done since has been pretty good. I will say that I saw them live a few years ago and was extremely disappointed that they didn't play any old material. They didn't even play Non-serviam. My personal favorites of theirs is The Ades Wing demo, The Might Contract, Non-Serviam, Triarchy of Lovers and then from the never stuff Theogonia and Aeola. But this Holy Mountain track has some serious power to it. I would love to hear a Rotting Christ / Lars Nedland album that would be bad ass.
@@Yourguitarchannelsucks agree completely bro, and when thy mighty contract came out it was a great contrast (the Greek scene with necromantia's debut also) from the dominant Norwegian scene at the time. I haven't listened to their demos in 20 years but from memory they were more death metal?
@@mikerauter1859 Yeah, Rotting Christs early demos were more thrash and death metal but the "Ade's Wing" demo was different. It was in the style of "Thy Mighty Contract" but I think the performance of those 2 songs were better on the demo. The old days were certainly the best. I saw a new Rotting Christ video a few days ago and it was super wicked. You should check it out and see what you think. I have no clue how to pronounce it or much less spell it but it was pretty damn wicked.
I’m playing a Solar Pyro, it has an Ash body with a 3 piece roasted maple neck, bolt on.. The guitar was burned with fire. The pickup is a Solar version of a Seymour Duncan SH-14 Custom 5. I’m plugged directly into the HX Stomp using the Angl Meteor amp based on the fireball. I’m also using the stupor OD which is inside HX stomp as well and it a copy of a boss SD-1. The impulse response is a chop tone down tuning ir. That is running into my Tascam recorder and I’m mixed slightly above and to the left of the original recording. It is one of my best sounding guitars.
Underrated band
I agree 100%.
Such a great song

Kick ass, now some triarchy of lost lovers

That was sick af ! Love the 🎸 too! Solar ?

@@Yourguitarchannelsucks it is cool as all get out
@@phillippitts6294 Thanks man. They did a great job on it.
For me nothing beats Thy Mighty Contract, a great band that became too melodic and creative diluting their brand of black metal. Well played though

How did you get that tone?
