When you trim them back that come back shorter. I had a beautiful one that my ex-husband kept hitting with the lawn mower by 'accident". Joke was on him though, the more he ran it over the wider it got. When it outlasted him I turned it into the focal point of an Autumn flower bed 🤣
The coolest fact of that Mum? One of my favorite residents have it to me after Thanksgiving. Our assisted living facility had a policy of throwing out all dead plants. One day I came in to help her get dressed and she told me to take that home to my little one. I told her it was dead & we had to throw it out. Plus my little one was too little for it anyway.. she said 'Trust me, if they have a little bit of green still in them even Walmart mums like that are perennials." She was right on both counts. It came back year after year & my little one loved it so much she called it her little baby sun flowers.
