Please do this, the current ones are boring.
Dudes, Ben Stiller is always awkward it's part of his comedy.
but not very funny
Infamous Yash Show I thought it was John Travolta or Jared Leto for a sec lol
@@TheSavageBountyHunter You do realise comedy is a matter of taste. I personally love Ben Stiller, no matter what he does.
Infamous Yash Show true. Not funny at all
@@likeicare1234 i totally agree its a matter of taste, some people love shit too..
James Cameron being like : "oh shit, I could have used make-up."
That would be actually better than Cgi I think!
@@crazypopcorn7801 no
PIPOLADOIDA it absolutely would. CGI should only be used when 100% necessary. I can’t stand when people are too lazy to put work into practical effects. CGI used to be a way to do stuff that we could never possibly do, but Hollywood uses it now to cut corners, save time, and to save money. I just despise CGI, it’s partially why I don’t like the MCU, it’s filled with useless CGI that would’ve been doable practically and most of the CGI in those movies suck, like when Bruce is sticking out of the hulk buster or Black Panther from start to finish, it’s all just absolute rubbish, lord of the rings has better CGI than the MCU. LOTR actually remains solid and still beats so many movies today with its CGI and it was all with stuff that was necessary.
IDK, I just despise lazy filmmakers with no heart or soul, simply wanting to push a halfass written film down peoples throats, not caring if it looks too shitty or cartoony at points. They just don’t care and it shows. I could rant for hours about the major misuse of CGI in Hollywood, like how the remake of the thing was fully shot with practical prosthetics but in the end the creators thought it looked too much like the originals 80s style work, which prompted them to go full CGI, in fears the practical cut wouldn’t be well received. Well they fucked up because nobody was impressed with a CGI thing, we wanted a movie with effects like the original but they were too scared and blinded by money to care about what we wanted and they didn’t even save a cut of the practical version. The only hope we have is through the view remaining filmmakers that only use CGI when necessary, I hope that one day I can be one of them.
Oh! and don’t get me wrong, avatar is a great movie and 70% of it was necessary for CGI but they could have used so many practical effects. Sorry for the rant, I just love all things movies and I’ve actually written two original screenplays in the past four years. I just fucking hate CGI.
Someguy uhh yes, fuck face
Kai McCook I did say I love all things movies, but there is also plenty of nonsensical bullshit that happens in Hollywood that makes me hate a bunch of things with movies, you know you can like something for one reason but hate it for another right?? That’s me with cgi and Hollywood in general . Armies in movies and fucking hot lava are prime examples of necessary cgi, especially the armies and lava situations in those films.... you might as well be saying they could’ve done the dragons in GoT practically or the rocket flying in interstellar, which a lot of interstellar was done practically actually which is the beauty of Christopher Nolan, a director that hates unnecessary cgi but loves to use when it is necessary.
you saying hatred towards cgi is unfounded is absolutely insane, plenty of people despise it the exact same way I do... but Hollywood cutting corners using practical effects, I’ve never heard of but if people are cutting corners using practical effects that look goofy/bad, that’s very shitty and just as bad. I legit don’t know how one can defend useless cgi use, but hey! Stick to your opinion, go ahead. And no, you can’t apply all my criticism on cgi to practical effects, you just can’t.
I will always have my stance towards cgi and I will always like movies that use cgi because some people know how to use it correctly but other movies like the Great Wall will always remain at the bottom of the barrel which is labeled useless films. I believe deep down you can agree that all cgi should be well done and absolutely necessary, that’s my entire argument, I don’t know how anyone can argue with it. And as far as fuck face goes, I don’t give a fuck about feelings on the internet. You being salty about an insult in a comment thread stands to reason why you are arguing against my solid argument.
This was genuinely funny. Usually Oscar skits don't work, especially when presenters come on in pairs, but Stiller pulled it off all by himself.
Avatar couldn't be nominated because this is for best makeup not best CGI
They did put makeup on but they did some cgi to make it more real I'm pretty here because I watched a video on them behind the scenes
He even says that
@jhon doe When compared to Star Trek,Avatar had minimal amount of makeup.
Galactic Jewels look real? Look's like cartoon 😂
@jhon doe 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
_The sequel of _*_Avatar 2_*_ looks decent..._
How do you know...
The sequel of Avatar 2? You mean Avatar 3?
@@pepeinc. because hebis wearing clothes
In 2040? Maybe
Did you just said sequel of Avatar 2?
For those wondering, here's a bit of Backstory:
In late 2009, Sacha Baron Cohen was announced to be the Host for that Year's Oscars. But according to sources, he was planning to host with his usual bag of tricks and gags, one of which was a planned skit of him dressed as a Na'Vi and Ben Stiller acting as his translator. When the Academy heard about this, they shut down his plans and threatened to fire him, so he quit. Ben liked the idea, so he went with it himself in the end.
OddOneOut665 how do you know this? It’s interesting!
OddOneOut665 TELL US HOW YOU KNOW
You deserve the "I just pulled that straight out of my ass award".
Maybe it's bullshit but that does sound like something Ben Stiller would do for the sake of comedy. He's the guy that brought us heroined out Jack Black and a Black RDJ.
@@n1k32h Congrats on turning 12.
he should have said the winner in avatar language
*Na'vi.

Does nobody in the comment section get that he is going for a socially awkward type of humour? I personally think this was rather hilarious.
Too many kiddos watching cringe youtubers that every 5 seconds say cringe so yeah...
That doesnt mean it wasnt awkward.
2:53 dafuq was he doing in the bottom right corner of my screen?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! thank you for comment this, I've never laughed that much!
I laughed so fucking hard I can't stop jesus christ oh my god
...
Liza Borghesani try 2:51 ;)
ahahahahahaah damnit, thank you so much for the hint :'D
still dont see it +lionxx
Ben's probably one of my favorite comic actors around today, and in a lot of ways he seems to be getting better and better. It's fun to continue to do things that are completely ridiculous once in a while, as they're a nice contrast to some of his more understated (but arguably best) film performances.
Am I the only one who thought that this was hilarious? This is exactly the kind of humour I like, haha!!
Gen X humor
me too lol
Please make him appear at the Oscars 2023! It perfectly presents technical aspects.
I love that he just went for it. Super awkward, but that’s the point! The Oscars is just such a depressing atmosphere that they might not have been the best crowd for it.
Man, I was dying when I saw this on TV.
James Cameron's next movie will be called "Lawsuit" - starring Ben Stiller.
Imagine waking up in the middle of the night and there's Ben Stiller right at your bedside all Na'vied up and wide-eyed, staring deep into your soul and he's just like, "Hey what's up?"
Ben is one of the few people who are actually funny
Frank the Crusader there’s only a few funny people??
@@fuhq6731 Yeah, right? Guy must not have a sense of humor
For those of you who keep saying it's awkward. That's the entire point. Ben has always been funny through awkwardness. Go watch some of his movies... lol, me personally, I thought it was pretty funny.
EDIT: Remember Milking the cat from Meet the Parents... AKWARD. Meet the Parents (2/10) Movie CLIP - Milking Cats (2000) HD
Thanks That clip was funy
Why is "The Definition"s post marked as spam ? All he said is that Ben Stiller creates comedy through awkwardness. I think this video is funny too.
Bert Jete hard drugs
He wasn’t awkward, he was just being Ben Stiller. The audience was a little bit awkward, as it seemed they didn’t understand his humor (and to be honest, it’s not the best Ben Stiller has done).
The genius peak of his craft I think Tropic Thunder...
What is wrong with the energy at the oscars?
i know! everyone is so much more serious. like people lighten up
It's because it was lame, it was embarrassing no one laughed
I know when I entered my film into a small, local film festival one time, I tried hard to stay lighthearted and happy but it's heart pounding sitting the whole time waiting for your category. I can't imagine at the biggest ceremony on the planet for this it's much better.
hollywood people arent mentally stable folks
Oscars are filled by old people without a sense of humor
Ben Stiller is hilarious!! One of the greatest comedians and actors of our time! :D
James Cameron's unimpressed face is priceless.
He's so funny, because he can make fun of himself.
I wish hekept making nonsense noises until the room got super quite and uncomfortable lol
Actually he was speaking in Hebrew
why hasn't he hosted the Oscars yet. He always does a great job as a presenter
172 people thought it would be better in rehearsal.
Did you die
This was brilliant.
Ben you legend.
He looks a bit like Steve Carell.
Lol yes
Jouwl this is the comment I was looking for
More like Freddie Mercury
I thought so
I remember watching this for the first time and thinking it was awkwardly funny. But now looking back, it actually was purely funny!
i think i'm the only one who noticed now that the woman who played (rose's granddaughter) in titanic is actually James's wife
OH MY GOD!
And James cheated Linda Hamilton for that woman
Ben Stiller is one of my favorite comedians.
2009 Star trek by JJ abrams was absolutely incredible. still my favorite movie to this day.
💙 still love it all this time later.
Wow, what a great Oscar® to receive at the Academy Awards®. I hope to see more great Oscar® awards like this one.
Bro got the gigachad face and the Navi face 💀
Well I know Ben Stiller used to voice 🦁Alex from the DreamWorks franchise Madagascar and Bernard in Megamind
I found this hilarious. I've found that by just enjoying the oscar for what they are , you can actuallay have a couple of laughs.
I was into the humor...then I saw Chris Pine and lost focus for a min.
Imagine Jim carey doing this
People might’ve actually laughed
Kai McCook bruh what?
Dan nah he isn’t even funny. Ben stillers a lot funnier
Star Trek has always had the best makeup.😄😊
The one and only victory a Star Trek film has ever claimed at the Oscars. And it shouldn't have been the only one, as Star Trek: Beyond should've won its Oscar for Makeup instead of Suicide Squad.
Exactly! The makeup job for Idris Elba's character was amazing!
I actually enjoyed the two successors more. But i absolutely agree
Some of what he said was actually Hebrew!
*****"Pasach" is Hebrew for "Passover," "Boray perri ha gofen" is part of a Hebrew prayer.
steven franklin : That's cool.
See you all in another 3 years when this gets recommended to me again.
Now I actually wish Ben stiller was in avatar
God, I love how you can hear Meryl's laugh throughout (almost) the whole video.LMAO!I love her!
Ben is great. This was thoroughly hilarious.
Great work Ben thanks for your support
No one:
NASA: creates an avatar to Ben Stiller just for the Oscars.
Ben Stiller, pure comedy genius
I just cracked up when he took away the fishing rod from whoever that was operating it. Ben Stiller's HILARIOUS! XD
That is just brilliant. I would love to do that!
why is the camera quality so good
It’s 2009 not 1985. Too many people downloaded bad copies of show that you think 2009 had bad quality when it was just bad downloaded shows
For the people who were wondering what he was saying at the beginning - he was actually saying “Pessah. boreh pri hagafen” which is actually Hebrew for “Passover” & “Who creates the fruit of the vine” which is from the Bible.
1:27 I nearly choked to my tea when I finally noticed the tail
*Thanks for recommending me this video RUclips*
Amazing makeup:)
First Star Trek film to win an Oscar, not one word about Gene Roddenberry. Thanks very much J.J. Abrams.
People were still enjoying the whole Na’vi act from Ben. Even till the end. It was great 😂
Ben Stiller is always funny!
you guys deserve an oscar
God, I love how you can hear Meryl's laugh throughout the whole video.LMAO!I love her!
Ben Stiller is one of the best of this century, miss the guy
Is that the Star of Night at the Museum?!
Ben Stiller is actually a huge Trekkie and has a lot of Star Trek memorabilia.
I almost forgot 2009 was the year of Avatar...
By far the best part of this year's Oscars.
At long last, an Oscar win for Star Trek.
If Avatar wasn’t CGI
I know.... such a chilly reception for Ben Stiller, even he seems a bit depressed, & he's usually so upbeat.
He is nominated for the best Gum-chewing in cinema history, this man is a f*cking legend !
Ben Stiller is fucking hilarious.
He looks like he from the future if I didn’t look at the year of this video.
I still recognized it was Ben Stiller from the makeup
One of my favorite Oscar moments ever. I really admire Ben's commitment here.
And how is this still the ONLY Star Trek film to have an Oscar? Oh, Star Trek Beyond could have had one, but no. Suicide Squad was FAR more deserving. 🙄
No reaction to the best part: "I brought a hairnet, it's OK."
lol oh Stiller's awkwardness is so funny!! His tail is sooo long, haha
One of my favorite videos...
Ben Stiller never fails to be funny,,
I found this rather funny, Ben Stiller is awesome😅
When he yanked the fishing rod tho 🤣😂🤣😂
Isn’t the music at the very beginning part of the avatar soundtrack? If so, what part of the soundtrack is it?
Sascha baron cohen was supposed to be dressed up it with Ben Stiller. The joke would be that david cameron got sascha baron cohen pregnant or something. This was too offensive to David Cameron and he wouldnt let him film then so Sascha got kicked out presenting the oscars because of it. True story.
sascha baron cohen is a man
Lizbeth Minaya It's spelled "Sacha", fuck!
David Cameron? The Prime Minister of the UK?
TheMoskas100 yeah..he made titanic
Trust Sacha to do some extra weird shit that gets banned. One of the reasons he is so funny..
Best makeup indeed
One of my Favorite Comedians of all time!
I love Ben Stiller ❤He is so down to the earth.
James cameron didnt think that was funny at all
Govinda 😂😂
💀
The fishing line is my favorite part😂
Ben Stiller is a proper Trekkie as well.
dang i thought it was Avatar
Lol I love Ben Stiller. He's hilarious :)
That guy in the lower right corner at 2:52 XD, I just play it back and back and back.. can't stop laughing XDXD
He put makeup in his eyes as well 🙏
That one dude won an oscar on his anniversary night and made note of it in his acceptance speech. Home boy got soooooo laid when he got home. I bet he walked sideways for a week.
0:20 Put on the captions!
You all thank me later......
That's so funny yet cool!
oooh thank you! i didnt recognize him at first.
He's great! Love the tail (so hot right now) x
2:41. It was at that moment he realised, he really should have worn his Spock ears.
This was fucking brilliant. Absolutely hilarious!
My guy needs to go to a cosplay event, he’s in the wrong building.
