The bait may be great, but these fish finders are changing the wonderful mystery of fishing into a video game. It is just not the same. No opportunity for personal reflection or introspection, just a fixation on a fish finder display. It is great technology but I will not use it unless I need it to feed my family a fish dinner.

Yep, problem is the Electronic companies push it, the pros need to use it to compete, and they in turn advertised that product. Reason why you see lot of new comers that could not compete in the Pro level, but can sell product well, get 50K electronics from Bait company to compete in the Pro level, and likely why KVD retired.

If you pay more out than you have coming in from fishing, you are not a pro fisherman. Pros get paid to fish, enthusiast and hobbyist have to pay, just like 2/3 or more of the so called "Pro Fishermen"
