  • In this video I will show you how to troubleshoot, disassemble and repair a 2006-2011 Toyota Camry seat heater. 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid XV40 (Canadian version) will be an example. If your seat heater is broken, not working, you can fix it. You can do it yourself (DIY)
It might be the same procedure in other cars like:
Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac, GM, GMC, Dodge, Jeep, Lincoln, Opel, Volkswagen, BMW, Mini, Mercedes, Audi, Hyundai, Kia, Renault, Volvo, Saab, Ssangyong, Acura, Datsun, Honda, Infiniti, Isuzu, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Scion, Suzuki, Toyota, Subaru, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Citroën, Jaguar, Land Rover, Range Rover...

Nice! Expected to see a heating element replaced, not repaired. Pretty cool.I hope mine is a relay or fuse thought...

Most Toyota and Lexus leather seats with heater are made about the same, and this fix will work with all of them.

Thank you for recording the complete process from investigation to upholstery works. I will start soon to repair my driver seat and hopefully I’ll make a video to be shared with all others. My car is a Skoda Superb 2012, and the electric resistance in the passenger functional seat I get 3,5 Ohm. The electric resistance for the driver seat is 15 Ohm in backrest and cushion measured separate and is heating very weak, when is on Max. I don’t know what to expect when I will get there :) Any idea why the resistance has increased similar in backrest and cushion? I have tested the main single module, by cross connection to passenger seat and is working

Are you a technician? Where do you live? My Toyota Sienna 2018 has a seat heater problem too, it's warming, when a switch is off.

Hi thanks for the video. I have a 2014 outlander. The fuse is ok but the switch to turn on heated seats does not power on and seat does not get warm. What could I check before disassembling seat

Check if power comes to the seat when you turn the heater on. If there is a power that means your heated seat is no good. If there is no power, the problem is somewhere else.

I have a 2011 Toyota Venza, there is a controller module under each front seat that connects to the heater element. The driver side heated seat no longer works, i swapped the controller module with the passenger and the passenger seat still works. The light on the center console lights up. I will need to check if there is power to the element, but i think it's the element. Is the repair the same if it is the element?
    great video BTW!

Thanks for this vid. The seats i think are the same as the 2011 Toyota Venza. I did manage to take the seat apart and access the seat heater element. I didn't fine a visble break in the element. i did check the power coming to the seat, and i do get power according to the meter. Also the power controls work. I wasn't exactly sure how to check for continuity on the connecters for the element. It seemed to indicate that there was continuity. Could it be the heater sensor in the pad?
i will have to take the seat apart again to replace the element if thats the case.
Could it be the switch? Wasn't sure how to check the switch was actually working cause there is only 1 connection to the seat. I wasn't sure which connector was to the switch.
    thanks in advance.

Hi I am also looking for the repair for a Toyota Venza driver's seat, did you ever find how to repair it? Was it a new heater element or the switch?

Too much work. Too difficult. I'll leave mine as it is. I'll turn it on and pretend it's working.
