He is the only artist I can relate to. There is no other artist I know of who couldn’t care less about a signature style and just creates whatever he feels like creating. We are often told to stick to a signature style and that would make our work stand out. Richter is proving that theory wrong. I cannot say there is something I don’t like about his work. It is all impeccable because it stems from his soul.
Exactly, he just does what he wants and these work seem to have a special beauty because he seems to be doing it all for his own pleasure. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for posting this as I doubt I'll get to London to see the exhibition first hand. Loving those new pencil & ink works, not seen anything like those before from Richter. Richter is one of my favourite artists (even though I haven't managed to get to some of his later shows since the mid 2000s). I've seen many of his works and solo shows in the past, both in the UK & Germany. I always come out of his shows (or after seeing his work in collections or group shows) feeling all the better for seeing his work. Whether it be his political works, colour or monochrome blurred photorealist works or his abstract works. He is truly one of the greatest artists of the 20th and 21st Century. Thanks again for posting the vid/tour of the show.
I really agree - Richter is capable of lifting the spirits and it brings me great pleasure to bring them to a fan like yourself (via David Zwirner, of course). The pencil and ink drawings are gorgeous, aren't they? Thank you for watching.
Thank you very much for the exhibition walk through. Here in Australia it can be difficult to get exposure to such exhibitions. Very big thank you from Sydney!
Thanks for the tour for those of us here across the pond. I thought the music perfectly matched the art. Such incredible diversity! I agree, Richter's works look like they could have come from several different artists. I studied him back in the '80s, and I confess I was not aware he was still working. Amazing.
Thank you for watching and for the comment about the music. I always get nervous when choosing music because it can ruin it if a viewer loves the artist and hates the music! Yes, incredible that he is still creating works of beauty at 92.
@@artgalleryexplorer keep reinforcing the viewers lens, by that I mean so simple, cohesive, and lengthy, which is how Gerhard Richter comes across. He is a don't miss legend. People like me, stuck at home, thank you artvlog4778.
Thank you for watching. The music is from Epidemic Sounds and the second piece is Tulipi - Dew of Light. I am really glad you liked the music because it is so hard to fit with some artists and I sometimes get it wrong.
Wow, thanks for bridging the Atlantic once again George. I was frustratedly squinting at DZ London’s instagram and you’ve made a Victory for me once again! Your musical score is inspired. Richter, is extraordinary.
an artist of his stature and age must feel they can do whatever the bloody hell they want, abandoning any need to conform to expectation. it feels like he just wanted to please himself enjoying a process with the water colour drawings. they have a sense of ethereal freedom and subtlety.
That is exactly what I felt too. The works were dated like a diary. I imagine he doesn't give a damn about making money from them or what the wider art world thinks - he is creating for personal pleasure.
I’m glad to see new work by him. I worked on glass very early in my career and it inspired me a lot. I just didn’t like the fragility of the support.🧑🎨♾️🎭
The commercial before this tasteful documentary was gross. This woman was carrying on about how satisfied she is by her husbands “tool” filling her up; enough. And there was imagery of creamy paint or something being squeezed onto… a dish? Back to the drawing board in that advertisement.
Thanks for showing. AWESOME !
Thank you so much for watching. A memorable one.

A wonderful presentation of this artist's later works.

Thanks so much for watching. I hope some of these works come to Australia at some soon!
Fantastic! Liked the music too.
Thank you and I am so glad you like the music - always a bit nervous about placing music with well loved artists.
Beautiful works! Thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the work.
Thank you❤. The music is perfect to accompany Richters extraordinary serene emotional works. I adore him.
Thank you for watching and for the kind comment about the music. I'm a big fan too and these works are, in my opinion, beautiful!
Brilliant art !!!And the music....perfect.
Thank you and thank you - always a bit nervous about the music so that means a lot!

Thank you for watching. The David Zwirner gallery presents these beautifully!
Great cimera work. Also , the music is pleasant. THANX ❤
Thank you for watching this vlog!
Excellent video. Excellent commentary.
Thank you very much for your comment and for watching.
Richter with a pencil is a menace. I love those works so much.
'Menace' is a great word to describe him with a pencil. They stick with you, don't they?
Great video, the work smoothly presented with stunning music and no commentary until the end. Can anyone provide the music playlist?

@@artgalleryexplorer Pround thumbs down, artists work goes with all sounds. hahahaha
Great art, video and music !!!
Thank you so much for watching.
The collages are a total surprise.
I didn't expect to come across them at that scale. Thanks for watching.

Thanks again for watching, James. DZ presented these beautifully and he is is still producing fine work in his 90's!
Gorgeous!!
Thank you for watching!
Nice film work, really appreciated it.... subbed.
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing. I'll be aiming to show some more contemporary art soon.
Really well documented. Thank you.
Thank you for watching. A lovely show!

Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thanks so much for watching. Great to see those works.
Cool 😎✌️
Thank you for watching!
Looks like a painter’s floor mat after several uses.
I was taken by them but not to everyones taste!
I love this last year's work best of any of his previous works.
I am really pleased you enjoyed the latest works. Thank you for watching.

Thank you for watching. I can imagine glass is incredibly tricky to work on but it must be so satisfying if you get it right.
Candy for the soul.
It was a lovely, intimate glimpse at an artist free to do what they want!

To own a work by a prestigious artist even if his work has no relevence for years... That's what it's all about. Yeah... he used to make amazing work.
He did but some of these still set the fire going for me!
Who is the commentator in full blown I’m de man strut? I know who the artist is but this guy, what the F_ck?!
Credevo che l astratto fosse passato di moda, invece non faccio che vedere artisti di questa tendenza. Personalnente mi ha stufato un po'.
Really? I guess Richter is beyond fashion, just doing what he wants. Thank you for watching.
L astratto geometrico non mi dice niente, preferisco le macchie di colore. Esprimono di più.

The art business is a joke. Once you made yourself a name as an artist you can present any BS.
I liked a lot of the work but by the time you get to 92, I guess you can do what you feel like on any day.
Terrible sound. You’re on the mic too
Much!
extremly bad camera work and overvalued artist....
Personally, I feel his art is way over-rated.
horrible kitsch
