I need like a 2 hour special of Drew talking about Scream
10000% yes!!!
Right!! These lil clips do nothing for me. It be dope if all the original cast did a special about the movie. Or has that happen and I don't know about it?
Yes pleaseeeee
For what her 8 mins of screen time? Lol
maybe in that special she can give some credit to Janet leigh who was the source material for her Scream scene, as shes avoided on purpose.
The marketing for this film was genius. They pushed Drew up front and center in every promotion picture, every poster, and every interview making the audience believe she would be the main character, only for her to get killed off in the first 10 minutes. Audiences were left stunned because it was such a big plot twist
Yes so good and so wes craven
Prob one of the best opening scenes in a horror movie.
Didn’t the trailer show her not in it as much though and more of Neve being the main character?
They were mimicking what Alfred Hitchcock did with Janet Lee in Psycho.
@@jamesedleymusic Kind of, but Psycho was different in that the audience was invested in this story of this woman and we got to know her for half the movie. Casey Becker was not that. She wasn't the main character, they just pretended she was.
Drew's scene in Scream is so memorable but I also think it's one of the saddest/most heartbreaking scenes from a horror movie, with the parents arriving and their reaction when they realize that something has happened.
Yea that scene is horrific
I agree!!!
Yes! It's very rare when a horror movie moves you and makes you cry, and I have always cried when the mom hears her on the phone. Heartbreaking.
That scene still haunts me till this day
I’m so desensitized to the scene because I’ve been rewatching Scream movies since I was a kid.
But I watched it with some friends who 1: aren’t horror fans 2: haven’t seen Scream and I felt bad because I never realized how intense and scary the opening scene was until I had other people around me experiencing it for the first time.
I wish I could watch that scene for the first time again.
When you think of Scream the most iconic moment is with Casey. Drew sharing she helped produce it is an epic drew’s secret that further solidifies legendary status. So so so EPIC!
Idk the ending is pretty frickin iconic with Sidney, Billy, and Stu man.
I thought it was common knowledge that she was involved in producing it...
@@oreoreo1534 it wasn’t common knowledge. I’ve been a huge lifelong fan, have met her twice but only knew she chose the part of Casey over the main role of Sydney, had no idea she helped produce it.
Also so cool to know that she championed the idea of a “major cameo kill” where your favorite actor/character isn’t safe. Makes me think of the unexpected deaths that followed- like Sam Jackson in “Deep Blue Sea”! ❤️
@Fuss Guss
It isn't a Cameo, a cameo is very brief.
That intro scene in Scream will forever be iconic!!! 🔥🔥
I love how Drew talks about Scream constantly....I live for it!!! Also, I'm so excited she kept the wig! Casey Becker ICON!!!!!!
I love how passionate and respectful she speaks always about Scream. She knows she played an iconic and memorable role (even though she’s only 13 minutes on screen) and that the fans love it and she embraces it! She’s a legend!
Will there be a 25th anniversary reunion on the Drew show?! PLEASE SAY YES!!!! PLEASE!?!?!
Can't wait to see Drew interviews Courteney, Neve and David any time soon
that would be Epic
@@fernandabluntkrasinski9026 What about Skeet, Matthew, Jamie and Liev?
I believe that when the movie comes out,she will definitely invite them for an interview
You need to calm down
Drew’s performance in the opening sequence of Scream was one of the most intense and convincing scenes of being in complete terror that I have ever seen. Her performance is what made the movie worth continuing. I would love to see Drew interview Matthew Lillard, he’s so entertaining and they would be hilarious together!
I love that she takes her show outside! It’s brilliant!!! No one wants to be stuck inside all day.
100%% one of the best performances of all time
Gotta love Drew. She seems like a sweet, modest and down to earth person. I could listen to her talk about Scream forever.
Drew NAILED it. Because that's _exactly_ what I got from that scene when I first saw it so long ago, that feeling of... who else is gonna get killed now if that just happened?
The movie The Ring also took from her idea I believe, because they have a very similar beginning.
You're iconic character Casey Becker will always be a favorite of mine
Mine too
Casey most def set the bar for what we came to expect from SCREAM
@@TheeOGBobby She definitely did ,no question
@@TheeOGBobby agree 100%
It is hilarious that Scream was originally called Scary movie considering that was the spoof!🤣
Scream is a much smarter spoof. That’s why it’s so great.
Makes me wonder if drew also produced that movie.
@@redeye007 she said she silent produced it!
@@quinnaddison420 scary movie? I’m talking about that since the original scream title was scary movie and that title was used for the parody movies
It's crazy how her character is only in the movie for like 15 minutes but is also probably the most *ICONIC* character of the entire saga. 🔪 💀
Her performance in Scream was on point! And that wig... Man she totally rocked it!! Love ya, Drew💖
The opening scene in Scream sparked my love for cinema and all things horror
I never heard ANYWHERE that Drew was helping produce this without a credit
That opening is so iconic!
25 years, my god. I remember going to see it in the theater.
Me too..I think I was 16
That would’ve been compelling and amazing to see if Drew had continued to play the Sydney character. She would’ve knocked it out of the park. At the same time when you think of the Scream franchise, her performance in the beginning stands out as one of the grand highlights. Even Michelle Pfeiffer admitted to being inspired by Drew’s performance to prepare her for “What Lies Beneath”. To bring that fear and emotion to it.
Reese Witherspoon was going to play as Sydney but she decided not to do it because she also wanted to star in the movie “fear” 1996
And we’re so glad for Neve Campbell
@@quinnaddison420 ik thank god
I can't imagine anyone but Neve playing Sidney sorry.
@@EtcTwilight same here
I still remember that moment when the rest of my family was shocked when Drew died in the beginning!
Same here!
Shocked huh? Wow
Yeah, that was so unexpected and so brilliant.
Sometimes I wonder whether Drew knows just how much of a LEGEND she is through her filmography 🤩🤩🤩
Awww! I loved this! I love Drew's vision for the original Scream. It would be a totally different movie if she survived that opening sequence. I love that Drew and all of the actors from the Scream franchise have a great love and admiration from their time on those films. It makes me happy. Scream is my all time favorite movie. And people always tease me about it, but it came out during a very specific time in my life and even with the sequels, I can clearly remember just being so excited to see each one of them. And Drew is just an amazing human being. I loved this.
I saw that movie with my friends originally in the 90s. So much fun.
I’ve always loved drew 😂 that’s dope she seen how iconic that scene was on paper
I have always been obsessed with the wig! Actually I might take a photo of Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface to my hairdresser as well 🤣
Drew has such a great energy, I'm always smiling at the end of her videos
She’s the bomb 💣 diggity
She’s so smart & cool
Through everything she’s been through in her life, she reminds me of my older sister❤️, such astounding souls
PERIODDD
@@maydavalle nice ❤ you’re lucky !
Scream is the reason I love Drew so much. What a ballsy decision
Didnt knew Drew came up with that! Super brilliant lady! For me that decision made the movie, incredibly creative and smart.
Most iconic and real feeling opening scene in horror history! Shoutout to the mom also, her scream still haunts me 😩
Please do a 25th reunion with the cast of Scream
Opening scene was so good! You don’t expect Drew Barrymore to die in the opening scene!
I ♥️ DREW BARRYMORE!
Drew should dress up as Casey Becker for her Halloween show.
Yes
Hell yessss
We can rebuild her, we have the wing lol
@Jeff Erckert No it’s not.
I remember that she did do that last year, but I agree she should def do it again this year. I'm going to dress up as Casey and I can't wait! Such a classic
She’s so smart and thoughtful discussing her behind-the-scenes producer role. Very interesting history.
I love that she still gets so excited about Scream.
I had no idea she was a producer. She’s right about the script.
Everything about Scream is genius
Dang I didn’t know she was so involved in the process. That’s epic.
"Can I wear the wig?"
I love him!
I love this woman. And she kept the Casey wig!! 💛
I always thought her character dying so early in "Scream" was a nod to Janet Leigh's early death in "Psycho". Whoops!
Probably the best opening kill in any slasher genre. Craven, Williamson and Barrymore delivered a pitch perfect kill that just hooks you in.
Drew is so precious and genuine! We need to all protect her at all cost! 💕
Maybe a special edition episode with Drew talking about the Scream movie that would be cool!
Drew is just brilliant talking about this movie, I love it
I love that her little idea of killing the big star changed the culture of horror as much as the movie did!
the opening scene of Scream 1996 will forever be a classic. i always think of her and her hairstyle when someone mentions Scream.
I love all the things that Drew can telling us. Casey Becker's scene is one of the most iconic of the all times! A fan from Spain ❤
Spaniards think their white?????
Ur english isnt good
The opening for the first scream always gets me I can’t imagine the horror that drew Barrymore (Casey ) was enduring !
I started buying Jiffy Pop...again after Drews scene! Its fun and😋
They need to quit calling 5 a reboot. It is a DIRECT SEQUEL, not a reboot.
It's technically a sequel yes but it's also a soft reboot with new writers and directors. A continuation but a new beginning. Otherwise they would have title the movie Scream 5.
I consider it scream 5
@@shaungerald23 it’s Scream 5. They called it Scream because they’re stupid.
@@n2nother LOL OH-kay.... Whatever helps you sleep at night.
This is the first one without Wes Craven, so technically it is a soft reboot.
Call it whatever you like and whatever makes you sleep at night, but at the end of the day this is a soft reboot.
Her scene in scream ranks up to Johnny Depp in Nightmare on elm street
I LOVE YOU Drew! and I love how you support the new movie! ♥️ Scream wouldn't be the same without YOU!!!
I’ve heard and seen everything about the behind the scenes of the 1st Scream movie, what hardcore fan hasn’t but I would like to hear you talk about…
Ever After, with a behind the scenes commentary, honestly, out all the Cinderella movies, THAT one was the best live action telling. That movie must have an anniversary coming up.
I wish she had my kids! Drew Barrymore! Still as beautiful as ever! Love you Drew Baby
I hope Drew gets invited to the premiere of Scream 5, it would be so cool if she was to show up in her Casey Becker wig and costume, that would be epic
I could listen to her talk about Scream all day long.
I just love listening to Drew, she seems like such a great person to be around!
The funny thing is Drew still looks nearly the same as she did in the movie. She could totally still rock that wig and play a 17 year old Casey Becker, just like Danielle Harris played a high-schooler in RZ's Halloween reboot back in '07! 🎥 📷 🤳
Drew! You’re such an amazing woman and a delight to watch and you bring light and joy to this world ! Also! Hello! Scream is amazing !!
Drew doesn't get enough credit for producing some of the most iconic movies of the past few years.
please name one iconic movie she produced except for scream lmao
@@scubasteve7936 Charlie’s angels 1&2
@@ACinemafanatic lmfao
I love Scream and her scene
Love Drew. Awesome actress and person
There was always going to be a sequel if the first film made money. The first 10 pages of Scream 2 (then known as "Scary Movie 2") was included at the back of the script for Scream ("Scary Movie"). It was created to be a franchise.
...and Scary Movie 3.
I love that I've been searching for the perfect wig for my Casey Becker costume for hours now and then I come across this video lol
So beautiful Drew with a bubbly personality very infectious! 🌹🌹
When I was a teenager in the 1990s everyone was going to the theater to see this movie.
There was no RUclips or anything so not a lot was known going into a movie except word of mouth and trailers on t.v.
The first scene with drew Barrymore was shocking...no one was expecting such a big name like Drew Barrymore, and she was huge at the time, to be on screen for only like ten minutes, opening the scene and then dying...
I love the amazement over the wig (so happy she kept it) and her enthusiasm and pride 25 years later. Drew is who got my attention which led to my discovery of that AMAZING cast, crew and my FAVORITE movie of ALL time. Stories like these makes me miss Wes even more so bad because everyone blended together so wonderfully. Seen the re release in theaters a week ago yesterday on the big screen and Casey’s scene hit me MORE for some reason and Drew’s performance is so amazingly heartbreaking that you actually feel bad for characters in a horror movie, which is kinda rare. The talent all around in this film shows it was meant to be made with the exact people that were involved. THANK YOU drew and everyone so much for making us scream still all these years later 😱
For real, the one horror movie that makes you feel bad for ALL the characters, even the principal and hilarious cameraman. All other horror movies I really don't feel bad when a character dies.
@@bradywest3116 EXACTLY. Everyone was so spot on and hit their marks PERFECTLY 😱
The opening was such a good idea. Having a famous actress die first. Same thing happened in Psycho in 1960. It really works.
Would love to talk with Drew, Neve, and David about Scream. And just have a good time together!
Ughhh I LOVE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING SHE TALKS ABOUT. ❤❤❤🙌
Fascinating! Love learning this behind the scenes stuff!
OMG I'm fanning out right now!!!!! Love the hair choice Drew 😍
5:33 did she just gave away a cameo in Scream 2022?? Sure hope so haha ! Love u Drew xo
They’ve done so good with the Scream franchise. I hope the new one is the best one!
omg thank you so much for this drew, i´m a huge scream fan !!! i love you so much !!!!!!
One thing I loved about Scream was that they put all those cliches in but turned them on their heads.
Prior to SCREAM I was a teen complaining that horror and the slasher genera was starting to fade and as a huge horror fan I felt like I was losing one of my favorite things. I'm so grateful for this movie and I can't wait for the reboot.
I was Nine watching Romeo and Juliet and my sister was 13 in the other room watching ‘scream’ with her friends. When the phone rang in the movie, the phone rang in our house and you heard a scream. 🤣
Back in 1996, I walked into that movie completely believing that Drew was gonna be the star or at least have a larger role. When her character is slaughtered in the first ten minutes, I remember thinking that it was just gonna be a free for all. Throw out all expectations. Drew's idea was brilliant. Made the movie very shocking and memorable.
So cool to hear her personal insights.
The most iconic moment in horror history so far is drew barrymore's opening scene in SCREAM.
Please do a 25th anniversary special Drew!!! Oh my gosh that would be amazing!!😊😊❤❤
She nailed it in scream
DREW BARRYMORE in SCREAM TRAUMATIZED ME. It was the LOSS OF INNOCENCE FOR ME. I was 10 years old and a 3rd grader with a rented VHS tape of the Uncut version of the movie.
DREW BARRYMORE was my HEROINE from CHARLIE'S ANGELS... She was a BAD ASS FIGHTER... Seeing her in CHARLIE'S ANGELS I was a kid and I always knew she was going to save the day. IT GAVE ME CONFIDENCE AND TO ALWAYS BE WITH THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE like your FRIENDS...
But then seeing her in SCREAM butchered, murdered and slaughtered...
IT WAS THE DEATH of ALL MY CHILDHOOD HOPES and DREAMS and HAPPINESS in LIFE.
And it's also a representation as well CASEY BECKER is this INNOCENT albeit GULLIBLE and NAIVE GIRL. She represented those 90's kids, CAREFREE and Clueless from the harsh reality of the world. Seeing her being dragged bloodied and dying it's like those fleeting fading childhood memories being dragged away from you.
DREW BARRYMORE'S SCENE BROKE ME. 💔😭😢☹️🥺 I'M 30 years old now but I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER MOVE ON FROM IT.
Hell yes. Being a horror fan, always thought that Drew's death in the first film was a nod to Psycho and Hitchcock. Killing the beautiful blond early in the film. Loved it
Loved watching this even though was short clip Drew Barrymore talking about scream she's legendary and opening scene was just so iconic never knew it was wig was she wore though interesting 👌❤️
Love youuuuuu drew. I hope to meet you someday!
Very, very interesting. Kudos Drew.
Anyone else kinda want the original cast to get together to watch the movie and do a cast commentary over it? Would be amazing 🙏
Ultímate favorite ever!!!
I remember when I was 13 my best friend at the time was obsessed with Drew and she goated me into watching Scream with her knowing I was a scaredy cat. The opening scene traumatised me and even though it is in my top 5 fav movies of all time I still can't watch the opening scene
Drew seems like the sweetest person
Drew ended up having a vocal cameo in Scream 5 as the principal of the high school over the PA. She definitely kept that under wraps here 🤭
The sacrifice that had to be made ☺️💗
Considering the fact that they never explained the significance of Stu and Billy killing Kacey and Steve (Other than Randy saying Kacey dumped Stu for Steve) I feel like the killer in Scream 5 might be significant to the story that Kacey's death created because obviously if that was real life it would have effected her whole family and the public as well since that year's massacre started at her house.
Maybe because in the trailer they said that the attacks were made on people related to the original killers.
@@blancarosales3400 right, and the killer looks tall and buff so it's not a girl
She was killed because a) it’s a revenge plot for Stu and b) Casey sat next to Sidney in English so it would be a good way to get her shaken up and terrified
That poster for the first Scream movie. The advertising was brilliant. She was on all the posters, just about everyone was expecting her to either be the main character herself or a big side character. And everyone was just as shocked to see her die, viciously, in the first ten minutes. Not many people saw that coming. Her character's death is what sets everything into motion. And I think that was genius. Drew Barrymore dies in the first ten minutes. That means no character is truly safe. Not Courtney Cox, not Neve Campbell, nobody.
I love Danny Pellegrino!
