Please subscribe guys! Thank you! (you might have noticed I've put a little bit more content out there, thanks for the support)
Thank you so much for working harder and harder. We love you Ola
Should I unsubscribe and then subscribe again?
The room mic adds loads of mid to the tone, which will blend pretty well with the closed mic.
You have the best looking Stealth Ola. Thank you for always keeping your guitars clean. It satisfies my OCD.
Ola , I know dimes signal chain was often a Shure 58, not a common 57 and into a MCI JH-500 pre and there def were room mics going...and I'm pretty sure he started using Vintage 30s around 94' in the cabs...along with Jaguars...pretty close tho man! \m/
I first met Dime when he was 16 or 17 at a music store in Garland Texas. Of course I listened to him play and was like WTF this kid is skinny, young but can fly across the fretboard. I can to know Dime as a follow guitarist in the area (and of course fan). He even called me the "Tone Guy" because I obsessed about tone and his in particular. I watched him play through a Yamaha combo amp in the early 80s and sound AMAZING. I bought the same amp and sound (well you know). After that I did end up using Randall 100s with Marshall JMC 800s combined (and the Randall gave me the dirt and sing qualities). I remember when I was talking to Dime on the phone about a recent recording they had just completed. He told me his new "Magic" was to add an amp in the mix that was totally clean and with just a hint of volume brought great clarity to his sound. Anyways, I love that he made his mark in this world. Always the NICEST person you could meet. He really interacted with everyone sincerely even though I probably bugged the sh#t out of him at times.
Jack Lynti probably not he’s just trying to get attention
@@confusedsponge4013 the story sounds believable... dimebag did lots of guitar competitions in that area. Lots of people know him personally because he was a very personal guy. He wasn't the rockstar archetype. He was a regular dude and loved music. He never turned anyone away.
Randy 8800 idk man but I doubt it is
I’m hoping this is true
@@confusedsponge4013 ive heard dime was one of the nicest people to be around this story really isnt that far fetched so i believe it
R.I.P. Dime (2004) & Vinnie (2018) Abbott brothers.
#PANTERAFOREVER
That's right brother pantera 4 life for me
0:59 i wish someone would say that about me ;___;

Love you hommie!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Love you too bruh! +rjmcdade
heret1c __ I'm just happy You're alive, nothing more. 😂
heret1c __ How does it feels to be Alive?!
Damn I miss Dimebag... :( Great tone, Ola!
Do your neighbours even say hi to you when you see them outside anymore?
They probably just flip him off and throw stuff 😂😂
You forgot to do squeals, now you have to make a part 3. Looking forward for that one :D
coming...
It’s been 7 hours. I can’t wait any longer.

Jizz Harmonics?
Kickass!! One little overlooked secret: Swap the Furman & the MXR in the signal chain, Dime always had the MXR after the Furman. Grady Champion has confirmed this on the Dimebag Sound FB group. I also have a pic from Grady's notebook he shared depicting this if you would like it. Guitar => Furman => MXR => AMP. Brings out that last "Dime" characteristic of the tone and harmonics.
Great to see you experimenting with the settings, I too ended up playing around a LOT over the years to get it to sound how I thought sounded best in person. I agree it's definitely difficult to capture what you hear in person with a mic, It's just phenomenal to hear when you're in the same room. Good job!
DAMN dimebag had such a brutal tone. Brutal.
Sounds awesome!!!
I met Dime in 1989/1990 at Backstage in Houston.. saw them 5 times before Cowboy from Hell came out.. Got to Rowdy for them at Joe's Garage in Ft Worth/Dallas area.. that was the craziest 48 hours of my life!!! Had no clue they were going to blow up.. I have hearing loss to this day and non stop squeeeeel in my ear.. worth it!!
Dude this is SPOT ON Dimebag! Great job! Love your videos, Ola. Been watching for years!
Dime managed to always achieve a rich cabinet sound on the recordings. Great tone vid Ola!
Holy crap dude! You nailed that tone on the M160 mic. Spot on. Great job.
Just about nailed it!, thats as close to his sound that i ve heard on youtube, another channel tried, even with a shop full of equipment, they didnt sound the close to his sound. Great work matey. All the best.
THAT SOUND! Nice Job Ola. This Washburn is killer. Never been a big fan of this pointy shred axes but this one kicks ass. St. Dimes would be proud
that sounds really cool !! loved that tone!
One of my biggest influences and reasons I started playing guitar years ago. Rip 🤘🏻
I love that you played the riff from Bullet Hole. That was the song that got me into The Haunted and melodeath back in like 2000 or so when I was in 7th grade. I was pretty excited when you joined them.
Well done Ola, this video is pure joy \m/
Spot on with that M160 mic!! Sounds much better than previous performances.
Maybe a little more settings in tone and gain, but it was awesome mate. Good wok!!
The only video I've ever watched where the room mic sounds kick ass sick!! That doubler def is key with dime
Oh man.... I remember hearing CFH for the first time. That intro blew my mind....and still does. There was nothing that sounded like that back then. I totally get it, Ola. :)
You made my day with that tone, good job! \m/
Beast sound
CHEEYEEEAAHHHHH!!!
After watching your videos since 2011...i literally have finally subscribed Ola!! sorry it took soo long! ;)
Thank you Ola awesome video, awesome tone... Man i missed Dimebag.
Dude...that tone is just amazing...
That's a pretty good guitar tone imo when trying to resemble Pantera indeed. Dimebag was one of my influences, so this is a cool gear tutorial for me. Thanks man!
Fu***ing awesome tone Ola!
Just subscribed after watching this video. I love your gear vids you have been doing man, keep up the kick ass work!
Hell yeah, sounds pretty close, this shows how unique and dedicated Dime was to his tone. It's one of a kind I would know his sound anywhere
Oh man that tone is perfect!
Your videos are awesome man !🤘
at 1:54 the noise gate moved
The F is going on there?
And at 4:16 was removed
He cut the video, also called EDITING!
Dirty, filthy, solid stateliness legendary tone. Legend missed, not forgotten. Rip Dimebag. Well done on the awesome tones Ola.
Dime used kranks for years after Randall and kranks are tube amps
I still think that Eddie Van Halen has the best tone of any guitarist ever. What I loved about Dime's tone is that like Eddie, his tone was unique and you knew when it was him playing. EVH and Dime could hit just one chord and you knew it was them.
Excellent Ola!
If Feared ever covers another Pantera song, please use this beautifully brutal rig. Nailed that tone.
Im loving the tone !those old grindy tones from back in the day sound so heavy and brutal 💪
Nice work bro, you nailed it!
You got it spot on with the m160 mic
Here it is ! It sounds exaclty gnarly massive like Dime himself
This sounds killer. That close mic sound is almost perfect. There's an instagram page I follow called dimebag-rig-project which is basically a guy looking to recreate the exact gear he used at various points in his career which is interesting.
You're videos are always cool. !!!
I could listen to this all day
I completely missed this upload!
very nice sound axactly like Dimes sound...amazing !! good job !!
Good that you uploaded the last vid, sounds way better then the last time...although I liked the splatty fuzz like sound in the end of the broken amp video as well. ;)
You are the first person I’ve seen on RUclips who plays Cowboys From Hell correctly! It almost brings tears to my eyes. I salute you!
For dime being the only guitarist in pantera, he needed a big, chunky, brutal tone.. i think for him and his band, his tone is pretty neckbreaking.. and it sounds like you pretty much nailed it Ola! Glad to hear people do their own thing even tho this isnt the norm today.. thats what made him and his tone/guitar playing what it was.. and people either love it or hate it.. not much in between... cheers!
A blast from the past.. 30 years! this was the tone.. that's three decades! Forward thinking..
Fun shit Ola. Nice playing and great fun.
That M160 microphone freaking NAILS IT 🤘🤘🤘
With all the love for Dime music AND TONE - I have some assumptions that Dime might have some hearing loss/loss of high frequencies. I've measured myself and my hearing stops at 14,5kHz and I tend to love shrill Randall/Valvestate tones. From interview with Erik Rutan I read that Pantera really used all those fuckin stacks on scene, there was no dead spot for guitar and it was loud. In Pantera era people didn't care so much for hearing/didn't used in-ears or ear protection.
Łukasz Klat Ive always had that issue, my ears have a built-in treble scoop. I had tubes in my ears as a kid to help drain fluid.
I can hear very well after yawning which is weird. Maybe my ancestors lived in a different altitude than I reside now Heck IDK.
i'm worried about about my hearing loss , when i see dime talking on the home videos i can't understand a word he says.
my hearing is fine btw :p
I've got hearing aids , and when not wearing them one ear doesnt pick up high freq and the other doesnt pick up low freq
Only one whos actually nailed it man that sounds exact to me great job !!!!!!
It is really amazing how the tone is in the hands. I think it sounded a LOT like dime's tone, but the "Ola sound" is undeniable. Cheers from Brazil, and I don't think you are David Guest haha
that m160 sounds like gold and i love it
Nailed it unlike most people can’t. Some come close but this is nailing it.
Your a great human Ola.
That's a brutal tone! I like it!
Great sound and yes sounds a lot like dime's tone :)
I play in a pantera tribute myself and use an old Randall RG100es head with a furman PQ3, still searching for a mxr eq but i am simulating it with a boss equalizer (GT100) as the doubler function as well
awesome man !
This sound pretty good to me!!! Sounds great!!!
This tone is insane!!
Using the M160 mic was brutal.
Flippin' awesome!
Nothing broken this time but the tone screams I'm Broken!
Nailed it dude! Dimes sound was so visceral, it's like rubbing your face with sandpaper!
Fan mannen! Du nailade det! Vet inte hur nära man kan komma utan Dime's magiska fingrar! 🤟🏼💀
Awesome man ! You are a monster HAHAHA Joking
This is really incredible !!!!!
amazing sound!
I think you nailed it!
AMAZING DIMEBAG TONE!!!
I think you nailed it! I like it!
That sounds awesome!!!
you nailed the tone dude
Hell yeah man killer tone.
Very Very Nice Video! Thank you!
Holy crap this sounds great
Chunky AF Ola...Glad you mentioned the UAD MXR flanger/doubler. Great work..If only Dimebag could be on your channel for black tooths with Ola
Sounds so fucking bad ass dude!! Amazing job! 🔥🔥🤘🏻
Hell yeah killer tone man.
That was fkn awesome, brother! Keep on slaying \m/ \m/
I used to have to plug a patch cable in the effects loop of my old Peavey Valveking VK100...made such a tonal difference.
You should have a million subscribers. You are awesome.
Jeez, man. I think you EQd the tone perfectly. You don't even have to switch to another amp to get a different tone for leads, just switch effects off and on, change pickups from bridge to neck, and maybe mess a little with the guitar's tone knob. Plus a second amp for clean tones. Well done, sir.
Really cool video man! *hits subscribe
Very enlightening. I wanna try out this noisegate business. Never thought about it. I've been playing for 20 years, but only recently got a half stack. So it's like I'm a whole new plain. Starting to explore effects and this video has pointed me toward what I want to achieve.
That washburn stealth is sick. I always thought dimes snakeskin was one of the toughest looking guitars ever
Good job man, after the mxr doubler I thing you got it, or at least it's very close.
I prefer your sound 1000 times Ola!!!
Pantera solo much needed Master \m/♥
7:32
I love bullet hole !
Filled up with killer riffs!
I think all amp/modelers should have a room mic comparison. Way to go brah!
Sounds badass!
Ya nailed it brother!
Glenn Fricker has a video about a trick Dime used in the studio with two 57's going through a small mixer. I'd love to hear this tone through that setup. You crushed it here, OIa. I knew he used a lot of gain, but never realized it was that much.
Tom Williams That's the fredman technique through the Mackie mixer Dime used, right?
mo gain !!!!!!
Guess you could say he had that gain knob.....Dime'd out.
Colt Halvorson BOOOOOO...
*throws tomato*
Tom Williams. Watch the krank amplification video when Dime set off a car alarm outside playing one of their amps its insane loud.
Bad ass man. Sounds almost as good as my Randall Century 200
I like the way it sounded through the room mic best.
i love that finger point during a new level, makes me laugh everytime😂
Miced cab sounded great!
Fucking hell this is solid. Great job dude.
