After watching this again, I feel compelled to tell you all of the raw fucking awesomeness that was this moment. For those that weren't there, this was an actual, true ENCORE. This was the first of two nights they were playing in Oakland before heading down to Coachella, so after the show and the two, planned encores, the lights came up, and the stage hands came out to remove the mics, but not the equipment (as it was to be used the next night). About half of the audience had left the building, but a few people were still hanging around, talking with friends, finding rides, basking in the awe, and whatnot.... For whatever reason, someone controlling the house lights dimmed them ever so slightly (it was still relatively bright in the concert hall, certainly not a cue that the band was coming back out), and that minimal change in atmosphere set the remaining fans into a stomping, clapping, cheering and shouting bout, which went on for several minutes, until (to the crowd's surprise) the stage hands came out and started replacing the mics. This of course lead to even more intense screaming, cheering, stomping and shouting, and after about 5 minutes from when the lights were dimmed, Thom and the band came back out! They looked incredulous and honored/touched that this was happening, and we watched as Thom dropped the tuning, and went around literally showing the rest of the band how to play this rare, unreleased Radiohead gem (upon which those that recognized it went even more ape-shit)... It's my guess that only Nigel knew the tune, so this was even more impressive of the band. In the 3 decades and well over a thousand concerts and shows that I've seen, I have never witnessed anything like that. It was a truly special moment and you could tell the band felt it as well. Such a joy to behold... :)
@@hisgrinningskull2122 According to Ed, there was a version attempted for HTTT too. My guess is the band weren't and aren't satisfied with any other version they made. Since the studio version we got with Kid A_mnesia is pretty much the Toronto 2000 live debut version but longer and with no more dated lyrics.
nah, but we got the Wall of Ice EP... Only it's and LP and it's called Wall of Eyes (sounds simuler when you say it) and it's an The Smile album, not Radiohead... and we got Follow Me Around (studio), but it was kinda meh, compared to the expectations. That's how life goes...
@Annaa97 its his song, he wrote it and composed it, the rest of radiohead haven't contributed anything to it, so it's not really a radiohead song... just like gagging order.

superb
thanks for this.
Thanks for the story, bro.
It's all true. They did the same the following night with a cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart.
chills hearing the crowd screaming in the beginning, esp that one lady. FOLLOW ME AROUND!!! i love radiohead fans
And a short 7 years later we have the studio version and it sounds... nothing like this
i was waiting for it to kick into something like this 😩
@@hisgrinningskull2122 ME TOOOOO! Kind of a let down after all these years, but at least the wait is over and the song's mystique can be alleviated...
@@coleberggren1346 yeah i was disappointed! especially with it being from the kid a sessions i thought it’d be a more interesting version. oh well!

@@kwizzehDamn, I'd like to hear that.... Maybe down the road.
I was there... 3:43 was one of my MANY highlights of the night.
Yo master Warren. You got the tuning for this?
@@elijahtheshirriff7331 Drop D baby, simple
Omg i would've ascended into heaven, if Thom and flea would've sung and played "Pop is dead"
lol "BODYSNATCHERS!!"
Having to teach Flea aside and dismissing the handheld 5mp camera phone footage, this is my favourite version on YT by far.
i love the girl in the beginning shouting "OH MY GOD!!!"
This should have been the studio version.
How come I never found out about this? It's amazing!
I love how the band pretty much improvised the whole song.
what an epic evening. my first true encore. house music and lights turned on, but the crowd let out a roar and thom came back to us
Each version of FMA I've heard so far just blows me away, and they are all so different.
"The whole song is only two chords, Flea."
Thanks Issrider for the upload!
this is the definition of epic. that's it, i'm addicted.
saw this live in toronto.. best evaR
THAT KICK!!!
great job!!! I forgot to tape it cause i just wanted to watch! Thank you thank you!!!
it was the best night of my life. i knew it would happen as soon as they came out for the 3rd encore. wow.
Oh man so stoked to have been there for this.....
this has to be on The King of Limbs!
guess we'll find out
Well at least its on kid amnesiae
HELLO babes who is here for the release tomorrow???
I knew Thom was going to play it the moment he dropped tuning. What a great show!
you can't hear me, but as soon as he dropped D i called it out ;)
thanks!
Thanks for posting this. What an amazing show ♪
Hopefully it's on the new album!
you were sort of right
Coming soooooon! NOVEMBER 5th, 2021!!!
In Kid Amnesiac bro xd
I will love in Kid Amnesiac dudee
so so so awesome
i love how the song builds up to 3:43
AWESOME
Coming back after the official Radiohead release. Not that I hated it, I just wish this version would've made it
I like the line with Tony not Thatcher’s Children
@@jackchristensen5370 I don't like any of them. Thom and his first year college know it all politics :/
i love nigel´s guitar!
lovely bubbly
Follow Me Around feels like it would fit better as an AFP track than it would Radiohead.
An electronic FMA would be awesome. I'd love that (Jonny and Thom may be playing it with strings in an hour lol)
Haha I was about to comment the same thing here :D
I really hope it comes to RTV soon
@ToolisARapRockband
my guess is getting him up to speed on the chord progression.
@ToolisARapRockband I'm assuming Thom was telling Flea what chords to play.
The lyrics are different than the release... anyone sort this version out yet?
@ToolisARapRockband think they just hadn't ever rehearsed / played the song before & given it's a b-side, it's likely flea hadn't ever heard it.
@RuleTheRadio23 Maybe on the King of Limbs Part 2. If there is a part 2.

Huh is that flee from RHCP on the bass?
David B Hahahahaha derp! I totally know Atoms For Peace, love them! I somehow misread the title of this video as Radiohead so I was confused :)
Man O war did get the studio treatment?
WTFRawrtube Boy, do I have news for you.
