I had an episode once where my mind was wide awake but I could not move any part of my body, open my eyes, or speak...it was as if I was totally unconscious but my mind was awake.
Paramedics came + I was positioned on my back + suddenly I couldn't breathe. It took everything I had to turn my head to the side + then I could breathe.
What I realized later was that my level of consciousness was so decreased that on my back my tongue was falling back + blocking my throat....my airway.
I am into watch MMA, Multiple Martial Arts, and I've seen fighters unconscious after suffering a strong punch or more to the head.
But many of them are left on their back. That's fine if they have an oral airway in but otherwise the recovery position is the best.
You are helping me to pass my exam , thank you❤❤❤
I like how he "passes out" and the doctor guy just explains it will he is just on the floor and if it was real, that guy would probably be dead already
but shouldnt you first do a full assesment bofore considering putting him in recovery position?
if patient is unconscious but breathing you put in him in the recovery position, ABC is more important then doing the assessment, or the secondary head to toe assessment
He stated in the video that if you checked the limbs for fracture and injury and find nothing you are free to move them.
try looking at red cross and st.johns ambulance version, this is wrong on so many levels
ok thanks. i am trying to do an assignment right now
This information is helpful
Loose cables makes as much sense. Really stretching to say the tool with an exposed wire is the cause. You didn't check to see if it's even plugged in. That should be done before your gloves and mask in 'your' scenario. You don't suspect a spinal with an electrocution and fall. That's pretty poor. You should not have used this situation for this example there are to many variables that need to be addressed. If he's truly unconscious the arm he's laying on will not stay folded, unless there is severe muscle skeletal damage.
No. You are all missing the point. If it is electrocution (as can be observed at the start of the vid) then this scenario becomes a low voltage rescue which has a procedure to follow. No opinnions or assumptions. Just Procedure.
thank you for the information!
