She should have taken this case to a higher court, not small claims. His actions were so egregious, more so because he was drunk, he deserves more than a small fine. He cut down 2 mature trees, 37 feet from the property line. Even he says the trees were at least 25 feet from the property line. She deserves at least 10k to replant 2 trees which are not just "saplings". He is one of the worst litigants I've seen on this show. An absolute a-hole. He's not even sorry for what he did.

You can't necessarily just cut branches overhanging on your property up to the sky. Depending on your state or city, you can trim branches that impede the use your property as long as it doesn't damage or kill the tree.
