The Defendant was beyond prepared and articulated her points perfectly (while looking lovely!). The Plaintiff had absolutely no case and was clearly confused from the start.
Seems the plaintiff makes the threat of suing and past landlords would just give in but this time she had one that called her bluff and had the evidence to back it up.

I thought the same thing. She obviously had a good command of her vocabulary and even knew the proper legal terms and concerns. When the judge asked her why she was worried that the tenant had so much junk in there and then if something happened it would be her own fault, the defendant responded that “we live in litigious society“ and care has to be taken. That was fantastic.
In the front door and out the back door... she was going to drop her paperwork off to the judge and leave. I guess she'd wait on the judge to call her after she made her verdict.
JM always mentioned how she's the daughter of a contractor but got irritated at the defendant because she had mentioned that her dad was a firefighter...🤨
I just think JM got irritated when the Defendant didn’t “connect daughter of firefighter” and “fire hazard” to how those facts entitle her to compensation given that the fire hazard was caused by the Plaintiff and not her
Hoarding is for a potential fire and injury. People in the audience is laughing at the plaintiffs. No landlord in their right mind want to have to deal this. Im with the defendant.
Lol I think when the plaintiff kept saying "chip out" I think it was a accent misunderstanding. I bet she meant plugging in things would TRIP OUT the circuit breaker

@@Cubanflowers What she said could only be understood by people from the Caribbean, especially the English-speaking Caribbean. There’s no way for the judge to understand that. There are many phrases that we use in the Caribbean that are not understood in other places. I was hoping she would rephrase, but…
You dont even need propane in the house to be a fire hazard. That much stuff against heaters are a problem, it's also a huge load to burn if there is a fire.
Come judge you know that’s a lease violation! Covering the windows and piles of clothes hinders the fire fighters from getting to you if a fire happens!
I’m a FLSD….. and YES, it’s a fire hazard to the occupant and to the people that wants to save her. If it has a fire by the door, the next means of egress are the windows, and they’re blocked.
As a landlord myself. The plaintiff is just plain nasty. She's definitely a hoarder. The problem with hoarders, They don't see or smell the filth. They're use to living in filth. The plaintiff was probably evicted from where she was living before, because of the same problem. If she lives alone. She doesn't need a "Deep Freezer" filed with rotting meat 🍖.
Sorry judge, i live in small apt complex for last 12 yrs and we have had many hoarders that blocked windows,2nd exit door and the wall ac/heat.its a huge no no in our town regarding these issues with our fire inspectors.1 tenant brought in cockroaches in boxes that haven't been unpacked for yrs, another hoarder brought all kinds of broken things home and the furniture was full of bedbugs which spread thru to neighboring apts.if a fire started in one of these hoarders apt it would create an inferno
did anyone else notice that as soon as the plaintiff told a lie out of her mouth, the defendant said aww hell nah and then put on her glasses and proceeded to skewer her and her messyass apartment lmao
Loved the defendant she had it going on !! smart , attractive and so well prepared !! The Plaintiff apartment was a fire hazard as well as a ideal place for insects & rodents to habitate . Heck i don't even know how she found the outlets with all that stuff.
Boy, the defendant did a marvelous job. The plaintiff was a total mess. And I think that she was lying through her teeth. It wasn’t like the defendant tried to kick her out for one violation. There was a myriad of violations.
Obviously she hadn't packed her belongings. She probably had her friends just grab her belongings and dump them I wouldn't be surprised if they don't live with her. People need to read their lease contracts.
Fire hazard affects the whole building! Blocking windows is a hazard for firefighters trying to take care of an emergency. All the items piled on top of each other is kindling and again a physical hazard. And even if it was a DETACHED HOUSE, it would still be a defendant’s business because it’s HER HOUSE!!!!! If you cause a fire to be worse than without all the hazards, it’s her home that would be ruined!
Girl BYE! I was still unpacking two months after we moved! Everybody in the house works, I had more days off, so it was basically just me unpacking everything! You can’t say how long out takes someone to unpack! The nerve!
You cannot put a deep freezer on a regular electrical line. 120 line is not enough power to support without blowing fuses. That belong on the same line as washer & dryer.

I figured she'd lose when she walked right past her station towards the bench.🤣🤣🤣 Wow, her place was a mess!!! The defendant was on top of her game! One of the most prepared defendants that I've seen here.
It's purple lips day 😂 The plaintiff seemed overwhelmed. I wish she had some help. I sympathize for her, because I don't believe she actually lives like that. On the defendant's side, she's smoking. 😁
How can the plantiff walk in, like she was the coolest thing ever, and totally miss where to go? Don't tell me she had no clue about this program; otherwise how would she know to get on ? Should have just turned around and walked out.
As an electrician I was told there was no power upstairs in this rental unit. The landlord had three bedrooms rented out as well as rooms in the basement. He could not understand why the fuses kept blowing. It was simple. Each girl in each bedroom had a small baseboard heater and was using a hair dryer. So the landlord had too many tenants living in a place that was designed for an ordinary family. Landlords typically buy a place where they can rent out lots of rooms. But when a tenant uses a small heater or air conditioning unit the buses blow. It is not the tenants fault.
Plaintiff walked in and thought she was going to sit in the judges seat 😂

Firehazard: it's unsafe for the people, and unsafe for the FIRST RESPONDERS who need to be able to get OUT if there is a fire.
