Taking a break is one of the hardest things to realise you need and to have the discipline to actually do.

I forgot to mention - The runes at the end are great fighting runes, but you can also go Resolve 2nd with 2nd WInd + Demolish. And that is best for outsustaining + stealing some tower plates.

I have a slight gripe, I think VI’s E actually wasn’t designed to kill camps, it was actually meant for top lane poke back when she was released. Riot meant for her to be a top laner back in the day. It’s been balanced around the jungle though, so it’s half right :P

Even since season 4 I think she's been in JG mostly and yeah Riot are not even thinking about her in Mid that is for sure.

Vi was definitely designed to be a jungler. People just picked her top lane.

@@panzerswineflu I don't think Riot moved her there, it was just the organic role for her high-mobility and cc kit. She also got outlaned by the meta top laners at that time.
Another key note about vi mid being a safe laner is that she is tied with Darius for the highest base health regen (highest at 18) in the game. Combined with her shield, short trades are almost always in her favor
The player buys long sword refillable every game
Garen mid is insane cheat code thanks to passive as well, health regen is a secret op stat
Believe it or not @5:20 Vi E AOE damage autos were designed to poke in lane thru minions as shown in her champion spotlight that came out before her release. They (riot phreak) mostly showcased her as a top laner and using her E her to poke from afar thru waves so coming straight from riot that seems to be what they had in mind for her originally till she was shifted to jungler
Hopefully Riot turns Vi into a viable laner. Maybe bring her back to Top, her real role before getting shoehorned as a jungler.

The only way to do that is if they make her W dmg do True Dmg, most meta tanks has either true dmg or a higher % ad/ap dmg, she's also more vulnerable on top and if she loses lane on top it's over for her but if she loses mid, she can roam to set up kills for the team.
ive played almost 300 games of e-max vi mid, its super good and im glad you made this video. i might go back to it, my one issue is that a lot of the time without a solid ap threat you can get a bad team comp, but thats all ad mids.
I once saw a video on Vi building duskblade and i have loved the item on her since but this is just next level
I play a similar build on Vi mid for like 2 years now, building only crit after duskblade with IE as fourth Item, it was even better before the durability patch, enemies just exploded from a simple combo ^^
Very fun play style, hyper aggressive and just feels good. Even if you get flamed for the pick sometimes
Is it still playable right now? I was thinking that maybe building assassin or even bruiser Vi mid might be good because burst mages and mid assassins feel so weak right now
I'm gonna guess that with the preseason changes, you now rush Ravenous Hydra.
Even if it weren't as OP as it is right now, it makes your wave clear even better, gives you even more sustain, so you can roam quicker and with more HP, and also gives you a lot of damage with all the flat AD. After all, Vi has good AD scalings and lots of AA resets.

I think you still rush Duskblade or Eclipse. Reason being your item purchase times are so favorable against mages that you want that high damage immediately before they can buy defensive items and snowball early. Perfect CS, you’re buying a Dirk after 9 waves, and since you’re shoving the enemy mid, they probably aren’t going to have perfect CS. So you can kill 3 waves, back for a long sword, kill 3, Dirk. As long as you’re managing the wave properly, you should be able to make it back to lane without losing CS after every recall. You have that inherent item advantage, and the opposing mid will likely be stuck in lane without basing for items and low resources, so you have massive kill threat. You could go Dirk>Tiamat>Ravenous, but Vi falls off late if she’s only buying damage, so you need as much early game gold as possible. After you get Dirk, if your have the 875 or 1200 gold to insta buy Pickaxe/Tiamat, you can, and probably should pivot to Hydra rush. But unless you’re hard snowballing, just stick with mythic first into Hydra or Reaver.

Rush Dusk (mythic) or Eclipse (mythic) because of gold efficiency in build path. Long Sword (component) start means Serrated Dirk (component) in 6 waves. You can rush Hydra (legendary), but only if you are snowballing and go Dirk (component) into Tiamat (component) finish Hydra (Legendary). Otherwise it’s still better to go Mythic into Hydra (legendary) or Reaver (legendary).

I actually play an off meta build with my friend, (we don’t use this in ranked)
But it’s stupid effective. Basically I take vi bot land and he takes pyke support, I start off with my e and we immediately jump into a bush, he yanks them in and I pummel them to death, we are also able to get out of fights easy because of our dashes, same with engaging. He yanks them in then I knock them up and they are dead. Then we start to roam, patrolling the drake and making sure nobody has a chance to do anything, thanks to pykes ULT and all of the kills we get, we are stacked with gold. We both get insane early game damage and working together becomes very tough for the enemy to try anything, we also clear wave hella fast because of Vis e, so there isn’t much of anything that the enemy can do, it’s super fun and it helped me get the last few Ss I needed on vi to level her up
Great video! My only problem is at 6:40 you say he takes demolish for turret plates, yet at 12:30 the build you show is sorcery secondary.

ive been going assason vi from jungle and loving it for a couple months now
i have actually been trying something similar with my significant, but Assasain bot e max vi. by the time i had collector i could jump on the squishies and clear wave really easily, im not suprised someone got so high with vi mid
I've been playing Vi mid for a while (similar build). Mid to late game is very difficult, as Vi has great engage but no disengage, and can't take much damage even with defensive items like Eclipse and Edge of Night.
Two questions Chime!
First you talked about using demolish but on the rune page he has no demolish, so I imagine is another page.
And second why do he wants essence reaver?
I remember I used to take Vi mid when Yasuo first came out. I wasn't very good at it but it was my personal counterpick to that stupid windwall since the rest of my champ pool at the time consisted of mostly ranged champs
I play her mid when I am smurfing.. can confirm it’s really good on mid if you play her well.. zed and vlad are a bit strong vs her though.. Eclipse and Duskblade are both good on her.. electrocute/hail of blades are good runes.
Love this pick. The build in the video is valid, but i tried the buffed ghostblade(as of oct 28 '23) so it mitigates her slow. It helps a lot with lvl 3 roams
I've been doing VI mid ever since. My team always doubt me, saying it's a troll pick but carrying the game differs so, yeah.
I have been playing jg Vi for 4 seasons now, but back when Qiyana was released and was a menace in mid I tried Vi mid against her and had so much fun. Vi against all assassins is free win in lane.

Vi mid was mostly used a counter pick in higher elo against poke laners because of her e and shield although all of them used the normal build so I'm happy to see an assassin version because I love deleting health bars

Thank you for saying that vs tanks you have to go LDR. In the olaf vid you didnt mention it and the most frustrating thing to happen in a ranked game is get a crit olaf that builds collector vs 3 tanks xd

I've played against this as an immobile mage and it's utterly miserable. Her E keeps you far enough away from cs that she can just starve you then trade whilst you desperately try to clear minions. The one I faced used eclipse though.
honestly the best thing you can do is be outside the Q range, when i play vi mid, if enemy is in Q range its a 95% guarenteed giga burst, its very hard to miss Q
So he basically made Vi an AD version of Malzahar, nice. I like malz, i might wanna try this some day in bronze
Anyone who was around for Vi's release knows the E was designed as a lane poke tool as well as clear. The champion spotlight highlights it. Its easy to forget since its so long ago, but its true.
I'm so glad vi mid is getting clout. It's super strong. I've usually go for an eclipse crit build. Shreds literally everyone and everything.

Hey can you help me make a build? Been trying the drakktar "replacement" (the one that gives ms on takedown) and essence collector and my damage doesn't go up. Meanwhile the other assassins get profane hydra and smash my team with same lvl and kda
Can you flash backwards on Vi Q and change the direction?
You should be able to flash in any direction changing your q knockback direction. There are even some insec mechanics with galeforce and flash and so on.

IMO Vi is the best champ in ARAM right now as she hits % dmg on those heartsteel tanks. PLUS, herself can build a heartsteel.

Last was the durability patch.
Imo most patches are not important for off meta. The styles work reguardless of the meta, only huge item changes would break them

Vi's clear isnt slow at all, infact her Q does more for her then both her Es for early clear. And the W AS and max hp dmg sre the MVPs of her clear
Did not say it was slow, he said that Vi JG doesnt max her best clearing ability(Her E) - she maxes her Q - which is mainly for ganking.
Vi could be a faster clearer and beat other junglers if she did E max, but her ganks would then be worse.
More nuanced than just the speed of the clear

Main way he beats armor is by winning faster than enemies can buy it

Vi mid sounds like a low-key big brain pick into immobile mages and it feels like it would be pretty decent into assasins
it is good into assasins that dont have blink, a decent zed or katarina are annoying, since without Q you cant really have a combo
Zed is easy, you know after he uses R where he'll be so u can Q him. And when he uses his W again you just R him. Just never R before him, because he can cancel your ult. If you don't mess up early he'll never be able to one shot you but you can one shot him.
Kata is a bit more annoying tho and if you miss Q she'll kill you. And it's easy to miss her with her insane mobility.

If you wanna build a Mythic for the dmg Eclipse/Prawlers would be waaaaaay better. Duskblade is so shit in that regard and only good if you actually make use of the invisibility
I've seen AP support Vi's reach Diamond. She is not a weak champion in the slightest.
