Tiger JK is pretty much one of the biggest reasons hip hop is accepted in broader Korea media currently. He and his group really blew up and popularized rap and hip hop in the 90s and helped transform it to better fit Koreans audiences and history. So big deal that he collabed with skz for this 😊
Tiger JK is a iconic legend Korean rapper. Here one of his videos that was about 11 months ago: ruclips.net/video/w9iLeRf0xyo/видео.html Another good performance with Tiger JK and 3Racha was a live stage performance on the 2022 MAMA.
Tiger JK is a Korean-American artist significant enough in the industry that he's often referred to as the godfather or father of Korean rap. It could be well argued that because of his foundational presence in and effect on K-rap, the entire k-pop industry wouldn't exist in its present form without him. As for guns, they've used them in multiple MVs and stages when that imagery fit. But Korea doesn't have US gun culture -- guns aren't "cool" or some kind of flex or penis substitute there, not the way they are in the US. Basically every non-disabled man in Korea is or eventually will be a trained soldier, experienced with firearms. That takes away most silly mystique.
Tiger jk really is a legend and very well respected in the industry.
