I got rid of a lot that was worth money! I was so tired of handling, dealing, waiting, while it is all in my life! Forget the money, just get it out! Save your time and energy on your real "now" life!
Yes, same here. I even gave my violin to the local charity shop as the £50 I might have got would have been less than the value of my time and emotional energy.
I do re-sell but for a modest price, just because it is more convenient than donating. However, I do agree it takes a lot of effort. :( Worth it for the joy the items bring to new owners, but so time-consuming, I agree :(
I can't believe that kitchen and craft room are considered decluttered- If those "after" pics were the "before" pics I could well have believed it! Still so much junk!
I understand that it is still very messy. I think the idea is that it is much better than it was and is functional. Before the decluttering and organizing, the items were inaccessible and the rooms were not usable. To a hoarder (I have some in my family) these rooms are EXTREMELY clean and organized.
If you think this is good.. Look up the Filth channel, it has people with OCD going into hoardered and gross homes to help those who need them tidy up. It is quite interesting and is quite satisfying
And better helpers on Filth's episodes.... It's as if this guy is just not really trying to sell the valuables... Which is supposedly part of the program...
I would love to have someone help me clear out ALL of my junk. I could say stuff but after years and years of having it in my life it has become junk to me, but I’m physically unable to do it alone. Trust me when I say this, get rid of it now while you are still able so you can enjoy your life while you still can. ❤
I have known this first hand while growing up. It's hard to deal with people who hoard. And,it affects everyone in a negative way. I, myself, am very clean and neat...i hated growing up like that!!!! Prayers for all!!!!
@@krs4607 I was going to say that too! Never tell the dealer what you want for something always ask what they would offer for it. Then you haggle. Can't believe this Curtis bloke doesn't know this!
These shows are sooooo much better than the American ones. The hoarders are doing the work and realize how much effort it takes to clean. They spend months decluttering, so they dont want to fill it back up. Doing this for months ( instead of days) creates new habits so they can continue to declutter as the mess comes in.
Those programs definitely should have been sold separately. Sold as a lot means that they didn't know that many of them were signed by the original bands.
After watching this show I think these people are not hoarders but only lazy enough to clean their home. Lucky for them to have a permanent home. And here I am having a general cleaning every week in our place. Here in south korea we move every year. Hopefully this year we can extend our contact for 1 more year.
I think the criteria for hoarding includes not being able to use your rooms for their intended purpose and not being able to access doors and windows. So this would be hoarding for sure.
Once again Curtis spoils the birthday party and runs off to a dealer with his tail between his legs taking the minimum. Remember never sell to a dealer Curtis! R U listening Curtis?
@@kathryndalton9867 These people are free to sell a boot sales or whatever they are called in the UK or on eBay or at their house. This show doesn't tell us where most of it goes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 the reveal of the craft room was the most unimpressive. They hardly did anything, the lounge is still a mess, the kitchen is the best out of all rooms. She loves having all her stuff around it brings comfort, so I guess the little bit they did do was alot for her. But if was still unimpressive.
I am afraid although they made a good start the AFTER photos are incredibly cluttered eg they could have had nothing in the garage or just a lawn mower and a bike but it is still very full of stuff she does not need. Same with the first couple - far far far too much craft work. Even the kitchens are just totally cluttered. I try not to have much out at all. They have about 100x more than I have. Anyway good start made.
People saying they should sell this and that and get more money. BS, these people need to get rid of these things, if they really wanted to get money they would sell themselves, they would never do it, that's why the houses are so full. So that's what they get, someone comes, sells cheap and get rid of the things, that's it.
Homes in the UK are so small. It don't take much to clutter them up. Most homes in the US are much larger and when they get hoarded, it's a way bigger mess. I could probably fit 3 of their homes in my one house.
the big difference I see is that these are cluttered but not filthy. The american homes with few exceptions are filled with literal garbage, animal excrement and rotting food. That's what I don't understand about the "disorder." Also, the American shows want it all done and completely transformed within a few days. These cover months with the "hoarders" taking their time but getting it done.
I try not to judge people… everyone has addictions, poor coping skills, or something. I learned in my 20’s I hated Knick-knacks as I hated dusting. In my early 30’s I went through divorce. I lost everything… it was the best thing that ever happened. It really made me realize, you need very little to survive. You can’t take nothing with you when you leave the world…. And 99% of the time, no one else wants your stuff. They have their own stuff. I’m not a minimalist by any means. I definitely don’t have any excess either. Since my current husband has a bad memory it’s easy to get rid of any excess because he doesn’t remember anyway 😂. If his kids bring in knick-knacks, I leave around for a few months and throw them out. They never remember anyway. Not in 5 years have they ever missed any dollar store item they given us. My rule is buy things I use … not things I have to find a home for. I’m happier with paper towels and cleaning products than something I have to dust.

Absolutely agree.

Love how the dog is resting on him so comfortably

100% agree. I would cry if this was "finished".

Shes disabled but sure
You don’t know how much I would LOVE to help hoarders clean their homes 😫 this show just partially scratches this itch, but I’m OBSESSED!!
Put up a note in your local grocery store :P
Me too

44:01 ohhh my god, that dog is TOO precious!! 😭💖
I like how modest the items to sell were, and sold for. It was refreshing.
The reality of it all is important
Keeping things to maybe sell one day is also not the solution so knowing when to just let it go is really important

I love it at the end with the dog snuggled up to the host
There is so much love in that couple's life , that there is no room for so much clutter .
Can't believe Curtis sold the Royal folder and memorabilia for only 20 pounds.
That guy jumped too fast at that price.

Kurtis’s bartering always gives me mad secondhand embarrassment
😂
He has to respect the owners wishes .. plus it shows real vs unreal expectations.
I find it hard to believe that curtis is an expert! I'm no expert but I know more about collectibles than he does!

Homie has a bunch of cat walking leashes and his wife has a cat face “hat” he put back in the bedroom 💀
Now now, no kink shaming
I really found that so funny XD Thanks!

Curtis gives up too soon or he takes things to auction and gets nothing
Or, perhaps he's in cahoots, with the dealers and makes money himself. The antiques , are worth a lot more.
At least this show doesn't traumatize seriously mentally ill people in a depressing spectacle.
Awesome 👏 Both families have seen what clearly out can do…physically and mentally!!! 😊

Sickness is not laziness.
I wouldn't call them Hoarders, just unorganized and sloppy house keepers.

Trauma and mental illness more like it.

Knowing where to sell is the question not a dealer auction just as bad

Me watching this cause I need motivation for house inspection LOL

I think it's sad to leave the furniture in the small garage, it's a waste of nice furniture.
Well done, i did think the chairs in Annes garage could sell
Not to be rude, but theres still too much clutter!
They should sell all those stuffs online. They can sell it with less work to do and at higher price.
If you watch this show then you haven’t seen anything compared to the USA shows hoarders.

Curtis needs another job. He maybe knows what is worth to sell but he is not a sellsman...
To cute seeing her swoon over Bruce
Why is this guy selling this stuff to sellers?? Lol
Of course they'll low-ball and try to get the best deal to profit the most on the resell.

The leatherbinder alone ist at least 40 bucks on the market
Yes, very big improvement.
An auction house told me there was no such thing as a reserve. They took Dinky toys I GOT NOTHING NIL
Curtis! I try avoiding episodes with him in them. I just can't stand him and his ignorant "knowledge"!
No wonder he did not want the dragons.
Those aren't dragons. They're fu dogs.
When in doubt throw out 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
It's junk get rid of it
Bong spotted on 13:33
