So this is another patreon exclusive video that we just HAD to share (funny how the previous one was Miroh, and we actually compare this one to Miroh) because it's just THAT good.
The way they experiment with Trance sound, going full EDM in the chorus with no top line, and combining different types of sounds in a brilliant way to create one integrated piece...it's just beautiful.

Side Effects is the King. It is the song that still stuns me every time I hear it. It's the song that converted me as a first ever full-blown stan.

Side effects made me STAY, it was so uncommon to have such a heavy edm song in the kpop scene, it really made me pay attention to Stray Kids
Miroh made me stay, but side effects.... 🤯
Side Effects for sure, musically and to a certain extent lyrically, it is really heavy and very experimental for K-pop. I love it 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️
This song was not well received when it was released because of how different it is. To this day, it’s one of my favorite skz songs. I loved your reactions! 😆
This is actually the song that got my notice of Stray Kids. I’d listened to Hellevator & just couldn’t get into it. It’s grown on thru the years tho. Side Effects is still on of my favs, along with Levanator. I love the choreo.
So many of my very favorite skz songs are the ones that aren't well received. This being one, N/S, and mixtape #4, I listen too daily but they are so overlooked.

As I always write people who react to this song: I love how Side Effects represents the cycle of anxiety (mental health problems in general) & not only in the lyrics. It builds up & gets louder, faster and a lot of optical stimuli that feels kinda crushing come into play ... until you can't take it anymore & it errupts in screaming & letting out the frustration. Than it's a moment of silence & you think "It's over", only to start again right after.

FACTS. Since side effects, skz has established the fact that they always translate the message on the music itself so even if we cant understand the lyrics, we can at least feel it.
Side effects is still one of my absolute fav songs from SKZ. It just is so perfect for my brain for some reason.

This is the song that convinced me SKZ is going places. Miroh was a landmark. This song is the war declaration, SKZ battle cry to challenge listeners to Stan them (for releasing a title track as crazy as this).
i miss skz doing these huge performances for their title tracks. like the dance wasnt just a fun dance to the beat but it was a whole performance artpiece with other dancers, telling a story. Its one of the reasons I love side effects so much. The list of side effects being read in the chorus is also so good its incredible. Skz were so daring to make this a title track but I'm glad they did

Yes, Stray Kids chose to perform this on Kingdom 1st round mixed with God‘s Menu as it was the round as it was their introduction stage. At the Kingdom, I don’t know if you have watched the full show, but the SKZ staff are recommending Hellevator and God’s Menu, but all the Stray Kids members said they want Side Effects and it’s a song that only they can do. It was so cool to see the SKZ members pushing through their staff for what they want to do. I guess that’s how they’re keeping their identity and uniqueness.
This song showed SKZ’s willingness to experiment. And to pull it off!
MIROH will always have a special place because it was their first song to get a show win and you can see by their reactions how relieved they were - the hard work was FINALLY getting them noticed. But for me, SIDE EFFECTS is top tier - play it loud at a stop light and see the reactions you get from pedestrians crossing, regardless of age!
I remember when I first listened to this song, I was like, “okay, weird. Don’t think I like that.” And now it’s one of my favorite SKZ songs😂 it’s so cathartic tbh like I loved blasting it in my car after a bad day at work

Thanks for adding this one to RUclips. I LOVE this song. Even with all the incredible things they’ve released in the last 18 months, this one is still high on my list of favorites. It’s so unique and yet so indicative of Stray Kids sound.

Side effects was one of the first songs i heard from stray kids and i loved it right away which was one of the reasons why i wanted to get to know them. It's still one of my favourites that never gets boring to listen to 😍🔥

This song was like the start of their hugeee hate train sadly.. but honestly it also makes me proud because the more famous you get the more haters u will have mad abt every thing you do. I’m glad they do what they want and make music how they want it to be, they don’t follow trends and they don’t listen to people who say their music is too “noisy”. Really there is no group doing it like them, I’m so proud of how far they’ve come.

Yellow Wood era was really something else. I hate having to remember all the hate they received during this time and that very hate growing each and every day but the bangers from this album that exist today and the impact they left on the kpop industry as well as the pathway Skz created to make way for their own genre of music just shows how far Skz have come and how much they have endured to get to where they are today. Side Effects, TMT, Road Not Taken etc, these songs that came from the Yellow Wood album will forever and always be iconic

This was my 1st ever SKZ song, I heard a snippet of it in a Korean language class short (the teacher was talking about body parts 머리) and I was like, oh that sounds awesome, who's that? One Shazam later and I was hooked for life. It's still in my top 3 SKZ songs.

I think Felix's part was what I heard in a short on Insta and had to look it up, and realized they could sing really well. Before that I had just been following all of their funny clips from their challenge videos.

Side Effects is my fav of theirs. I love all of their music, but there's just something about Side Effects. The beat, the crazy beat drops and Felix's voice, and I think it's rare for groups to talk about mental health issues. I just love it. Makes me want to dance. How could you not?
I don't listen to a lot of skz early work, but this track is one of my favs to this day. it holds up so well. wish we had a whole album like this

This is one of my favorite songs by StrayKids
They did a mash-up between Side Effects and God's Menu for their first full Kingdom: Legendary War performance. (Before that they did a 100 second performance of Miroh). Not only is the mash-up performance amazing, it is also really interesting to watch them working with the JYPE staff to decide which song or song to perform for that episode--Skz and staff had different ideas and it was interesting to see how that was concluded. The Kingdom performances and episodes are super interesting, but since it's an MNET show, it tends to get copyrighted on RUclips.....

They did this song in kingdom, but they did it as a very dark remix. It was soooo good. This song wasn't received well but it was the first song I heard from them and it blew my mind! I am a 2nd Gen kpop fan and I had never heard anything like it.
