I was on korths site last night looking at revolvers I’ll never have one unless I win the lottery but I’d get the vintage 6 with the high gloss blue barrel and cylinder with the color case hardened frame

It’s a hard choice between any type of Colt Python or S&W 586 or 686. I own all of these. The S&W I believe are more robust more sturdy. The Pythons are strong but not as robust. I believe the S&W can take much more abuse where the Pythons are more fragile then the S&W. I’m not saying that Pythons are Fragile they are just not as beefy as the S&W. A good analogy would be a Colt 1911 Gold Cup and a S&W 1911. One is more accurate then the other one is more robust than the other. I believe the Python is more accurate than the S&W but the S&W can take more abuse. The S&W can take a lick’n can come up tick’n.
Define what the “Finest is” if it is the most accurate it would be the Python, if it is hard use then it would be the S&W
    Just my opinion

What about Ruger?... They're claimed to be the strongest of the mainstream revolvers (although with a much rougher action). But THE absolute strongest and most durable might be the Manhurin (I think that's how it's spelled) 73.

Hi Terry. That’s a tough call. In terms of appearance, the Python wins. The Korth has some very nice features, and Nighthawk will provide service. The 2020 Pythons have factory service, but I don’t think that’s the question here. 👍👍👍👍

Mine is a 1969 blue in 6". I have converted it (with factory parts) to a patridge front sight. The blue is as good as people say. One thing... the Smith L frame is really a cosmetic and size copy of this gun. Sorry Smith fans (of which I am one) but it is true The size.. the underlug... the rib.. the hammer... all are blatant copies (and for the better) recently their was a Korth and it uses the Python hammer but shorter.. shorter is worse. The python hammer is perfect. anything different? is not perfect. mine is like 98%? who cares? I am gonna shoot it till I die. if that means it is then 80%? I am good with that. My Smiths are K frames and N frames. Honestly? I have a Trooper and a Python so no need for an L frame Smith. But the L frame is a perfect revolver for a first .357 that does not cost a fortune. Colt is 'quirky' in that they rotate the correct way (imo) for accuracy. They lockup correctly (imo) You want perfect lockup? expect wear. no free lunch in revolvers with the possible exception of the old 1851/1853 Colt single action which are dead simple and lockup and time easily and perfectly. I do own some Colt duds... I mean not a great design... that would be the 1900 and 1905 and I can make em function perfectly but only when I am anal and have the time. Again.... IN MY OPINION... from shooting revolvers for half a century or better... MOST people will not be able to shoot better than the groups the worst revolvers turn in... that is not to say they should by below par revolvers. if they shoot 10" groups with a crap revolver? they will shoot say 8" groups or better with a good one. for me.... for me. that translates to a gun I can't do better than 3" or so groups to say my Python or Kimber 1911 that turn in groups of.. well a cloverleaf at an inch on a good day with good loads. IMO... that is not really that important to most people who buy and shoot handguns. But it is to me. I handload. I keep binders with gun/load/conditons etc. From that I 'develop' a load that shoots best in each gun but am mindful to find a load that shoots really really well in all guns of that caliber. An example would be a 45 acp load using a 200 grain cast and coated SWC. The bullet is one that was exclusively used by bullseye shooters in the past... I have 'hot rodded' it a bit to 1000 fps but... it still shoots as accurately in almost any gun as it did at target velocities.

Very good information. You are correct. Most people can not shoot as well as the handgun they own can perform so no need in buying something more expensive. Same goes for golf clubs. I can take Tiger woods equipment and still look like a fool. Thanks for watching
