Cool video. I had wondered for a while how a New Anaconda would compare to a super high end revolver.
I have an 8 inch anaconda and I have to admit, even that one makes my teeth rattle when I shoot it. I enjoy the recoil, but I'd be nervous to try shooting .44 magnum in the 4.25 inch anaconda, let alone the much lighter Kroth.
(Worst pain I had ever felt while shooting was from a 1980s Smith and Wesson model 37 air weight with its original grips. And that was just in 38 special!)

The anaconda does balance put the recoil pretty well but as you mentioned all 44 mags have significant recoil. I have an original model 60 from the 1980s. It is very similar to your model 37 you speak of. Thank you for watching

Hey Terry, good presentation. I also have a 6” Anaconda.I got one of the first ones when they were first available. I must have lucked out the action on mine is pretty good. But I think I will eventually get a 4.25” Anaconda too.

Yeah I bought a 6 inch one when they first came out also. When the 4 inch came out I just had to have one. Lol

They’re both pretty sweet! Colt has supposedly tightened the rear sights, and the 2.5” Pythons I’ve seen were much better in that regard. 👍👍👍💥

Both revolvers are fantastic. Since I am a dyed in the wool S&W fan you know my real opinion. Just upgrade the standard grips to better grips from many grip makers and a trigger job then you're golden. So give me a S&W-29 or bust.

The new Anaconda is where Colt really hit it out of the ballpark. The new Anaconda is a much better revolver than the older ones. With superb fit and finish and a much better action. As for the Korth in 44 Magnum it is in a class by itself and I own both. If I had to pick one it would definitely be the Korth. How about a side by side range review.

I will do that one day. I have been wanting to do range reviews on alot of stuff. I have just never filmed anything at a range and will have to figure out how to do it. Thank you for watching

Nice enough revolver, But after you pay a bunch for it ,You have to replace the rear sight with a pricey replacement sight from Wilson Combat

I agree. I have two of them. The first one horrible. This one is actually not that bad. It does not move around. I am going to still replace it. Just have not had a chance to do it yet

Great vid as usual. Both guns are very large. As is my Dan Wesson. That being said... if you are going to have such a large frame revolver... 4" is not a great barrel length. LOL.. so 5" is... kinda sorta. 6" gets the job done for most things. 4" is ... limited. 5 inch is sorta the sweet spot but very few revolvers are 5" these days. The DW has the advantage of interchangeable barrels. Sooo for concealed carry or compact I can have a 2.5" or the 4"... Or for most other things like target and bears whatever... 6" or 8 3/8" But.... What I did was have a machinist on the DW BB (guys is fantastic) make me a 5" barrel ... seems like a lot of expense for one inch one way or the other but the gist is that I never take that barrel off.... it is a be all do all (or close to it) Soooo the 5" DW for huge frame 44 and ... my 629 in 6" for smaller frame. The 629 in 6" is probly the best compromise for a medium frame 6" If I am explaining well.

You explained it perfect. I also have a 6 inch 629. That is cool about the DW

j'aime beaucoup la longueur du canon 4.25 de l'anaconda pratique pour le porter sur soit. si j'avais une collection j'avoue j'aurais les deux comme vous merci de se partage vidéo cordialement

I stopped by my local fun shop and fondled a 6" Anaconda and you're right...super nice gun and it was so very smooth, glassy smooth. They want $1500 for it, I'm very tempted. I don't need another 44 Mag, but can you really have too many?

    • @TerryBenton

A heavier action is not always a bad thing if reliability suffers with a lighter action. I handload so I use Federal primers only on my revolvers. They go off easier. Nothing worse than having the coolest woot light double action on the planet that only goes off half the time with factory ammo.
