My dad, to the day he died at the age of 60 in 2017 somehow never saw a single Star Wars film, good or bad. As for me my earliest Star Wars memory was the scene where Chewbacca tries to fix C-3PO but he has his head on backwards. In 1996, at the age of 7, when I first went to Disneyland and went on the ride Star Tours, I thought Star Wars was already under the Disney name. Turns out I was off by 16 years. I guess the Simpsons aren't the only ones who can predict things without really trying.
He is not who he appears to be. In 2015 I first met him, with my then six year old son, for our three day private signing with him and the other legacy Star Wars cast members. He would repeatedly say to us as he autographed customer comics and other items: "People actually pay for this rubbish to be signed by me?" He had absolutely nothing nice to say about his fans behind closed doors. When I asked him, as he continued to sign "rubbish" for his fans, what he thought of being in Star Wars he said: "It's a fucking space fantasy and not real cinema." "How it has been successful is a complete shock to me". Afterwards, we did a group photo op. My six year old son stood in front of him while I was immediately behind him over his left shoulder. When the photo was done being taken, my son turned to his right and accidentally brushed Mr. Daniels two hands that he had clasped together held at his waist height. Once my son brushed his hands, Mr. Daniels said (and I will never forget this) "Who's fucking child is this?" "Gets this thing out of here." "Photo is done, we are done". I leaned over him and said "Excuse me?!" "That is my son you are talking about and he's only six!" "Have some respect!" I then mentioned out loud to my other business partners that "I'll never pay this scum again". To support my claim on Mr. Daniels lack of decency and respect, there will be a book soon to published from the late Gary Kurtz on how Mr. Daniels had returned to him and George Lucas the bonus they had sent to him and the other core cast members from Star Wars A New Hope back in 1977.
No wonder the actor for R2-D2 hated him. He said Daniels used to call him stuff like “little man” and he would belittle his work and allude to his career as being fake and constantly acted like he was superior compared to the R2-D2 actor. The feud rumors were true
