I’m so glad Hyde started going to Soto in high leverage spots going into the post season. I know he’s struggled, but his stuff is nasty and you can see he’s confident on the bump. Perez with all the walks it’s definitely gonna be needed to make a deep run
I’m afraid the O’s are toast against Detroit. The Tigers have been hot throughout September and their no-name bullpen is extraordinary. The O’s bullpen is as Conner says are cracking. Only Soto and Seranthony are in my trust category. Soto, the ex-closer for the Tigers, will be highly motivated. Maybe Akin, too, I guess. I wish they’d bring up someone from Norfolk. Coloumbe and Webb are mostly reliable. Cano and Perez both look shaky. The others well, there the others. It’ll depend on the matchups.
Dont mind losing but i do wish they wouldve hit the ball and scored some runs to keep the offensive momentum going. Once again the offense was shut down by good pitching.
Id feel better about the Tigers facing Burnes a 3rd time when we havent got a look at Skubal yet if we actually took advantage of not seeing Skubal and won those series. But now its just advantsge detroit in that regard
No matter what happens in playoffs the O's have to bring Burnes back next year.Even if they have to overpay it will show the fans and more importantly the players they are committed to being relevant in the present and future.
Perez's walk-rate of almost 12% is AWFUL. The bullpen is always the most fluid part of a MLB team, should go with who's hot and forget the track record. The minor league seasons are over so they should also consider one or two guys who could help them. The way Tigers are playing right now, you don't want any part of them next week. Better hope KC finish in front of them.
I assume it will be the Tigers, considering who both teams play this weekend. There's no reason to fear any team or hope for anyone, tho. It'll be a tough series for whoever wins it....but it's the playoffs, it's supposed to be. The O's certainly aren't helpless and are a lot healthier than they've been in some time.
Taking Burnes out after 69 pitches was total BS. Ruined a good pitchers' duel. Am i the only one who thinks we should have done our best to win THAT game? Sweeping the Yankees should always be top priority.

Seriously. You can SEE the difference in him. 🧡🖤

Glad Burns is locked in. We aren't guaranteed more than one playoff game yet.
@@hidesinlonggrass3229 well we’re guaranteed at least two
Folks need to rise above their level one baseball thinking. Burnes pitching on Tuesday is more important than another inning against the Yankees.

They can offer Burnes the most money, but he will likely sign the most competitive contract that keeps him closest to his Arizona home.

@@drewc771 Well if they had beaten Tigers last Saturday like they should have then they probably won't have to face them again next week.

I am torn, I feel like you do, but I understand that Hyde is trying to rest him for the playoffs now as that is our path to the WS.
Nah. It was the right move. Playoffs are what matters.
I don't think so in this scenario. There's no way the Pirates are sweeping the Yankees and might as well get everyone ready for the playoffs
Chayce McDermott is another option for this weekend. Would also like to see either Trevor Rogers/Brandon Young
I'm glad they pulled him. God forbid he came back out and got hurt. Too close to the playoffs and he's a hugely important guy for that game 1
