I had this song stuck in my head the day I survived a school shooting. I was in band hall at the end of the school day as usual. Just me and my band director chilling and chatting about music theory. All of a sudden the intercom came on and just said "lockdown now." It felt like my heart had stopped. He jumped up and locked all the doors that entered into the room we were in and then he locked the two of us in his office. Shaking, I asked "is this a drill?" As he turned all the lights off. He didnt have time to answer, the sirens coming down the road cut him off. We sat there in silence together, his arm around me. At this point i was in a state of panic: crying, shaking, and heavy breathing. I thought i couldve died. After about 30 minutes of sitting in the dark together i started to sing songs in my head, and this was the one i sang. I could only remember the first few lines so i just did those over and over. When the police arrested the guy that broke in about an hour later, we were finally allowed to leave the room safely. Thank you, Mr. ____ for keeping me safe ❤ (hes still my teacher) Thankfully, nobody was injured or killed in this shooting.

Exactly. This is why I love them, you can feel different emotions while listening to them, all at once. Coffee and TV is another example for me of that, especially towards the end with the contrast between the distorted guitars and jangly piano bits...ahhhh this band is just something else
