My definitive playthough of the StarCraft 2 Campaign Collection trilogy and Nova mission pack. Each mission video will be a walkthrough explaining and executing strategies to succeed and obtain most achievements on Brutal difficulty. All dialogues, cinematics, and story-related material will be at the end of each video.
In some cases I omit completing Mastery achievements that would require a separate playthrough detracting from a full showcase of the mission in question.
Achievements completed this video:
Semi-Glorious - Kill 250 additional Zerg units in the In Utter Darkness mission on Normal difficulty.
Blaze of Glory - Kill 750 additional Zerg units in the In Utter Darkness mission on Normal difficulty.
One thing I always thought was funny about this level is that it's: Raynor's vision of Zeratul's vision of Tassadar's vision of the Overmind's vision. It's four levels of nested visions, or five if you include yourself, the player!
Except it was not actually Tassadar.
@@Kishimpl Quite right! Turns out in LotV that it was... a Xel'Naga guy? I don't recall if they gave him a name
@@dkwh1986 Ouros was his name. Fulfilling prophecies with Terrans is his game.
Inceptin' did just as much layers. But this one doesn't suck donkey kong.
Honestly it really felt like people were complaining about blizz bringing even tassadar back so they just changed it last min. to tge xelnaga. Who was boring. Also the reason they kept him alive was pure bs.
Me: Time to sleep.
*New Jayborino Video pops up.*
Me: Plan changed. No sleep for me.
Thank you for all the videos. I can not say it often enough: Your videos are great, the way you play and commentate is awesome and I do like your voice. :D
Props to that single gas probe from the gold base that booked it back safely to your main nexus.
One thing I noticed is in Lotv, during the final battle on auir, the base set up is like this map but inversed. Idk if it was intentional but it probably was and it's a nice touch.
I'd think it's more of a callback to the final mission in Wings of Liberty, with the Artifact and all.
15:41 that one crazy probe returned with his gas after destroction of his base.
''May day may day! Aw this is-
*oops wrong series*
This mission really reminded me of that except in this one nobody survived
Shiet. First time I played this mission, I was crying at the end, I shit you not. If I'm not mistaken, all protoss heroes shown here are part of the Twilight Council. Mohandar is Nerazim and I think Urun speaks for either the Furinax or the Auriga. Selendis is the Executor, or a military leader, right hand of mah main man Arty, and I think she's from the Ara tribe. Sad and epic end for the Firstborn... and Jay couldn't help but pitch his Playthrough of Starcraft Universe. Good thing your content is free, or I'd be broke af by now.
The true threat was never the hybrid, BUT THE CORRUPTORS
I wish that units on "Hold position" became stationary (like siege tank) so you can F2 with still having observers in place.
edit: yes they add stationary function for multiplayer, doesn't help for campaign.
Kerrigan is the key to all of this. Because she is a funnier character than we've had before. If we can get Kerrigan working...
It's like poetry, it rhymes
The great Sith Lord cometh !
Man, this one took me a few days of trying on Brutal. I didn't manage to save the archives but managed to squeak out about 3000 kills. I could have done better with better micro, but I was happy just to see the end of this one and move on. I love the set up and the feeling of utter despair you get; really mimics what the Protoss in this timeline would have felt. But it's not really a great mission in the end and it always bothered me it asked so much of a player who had not (by this time) gotten good with Protoss yet.
So many different ways to do this mission, including a Dark Templar wall, but I liked your method because it felt less cheesy and more like just holding out. Tough to get the right balance of purchasing units to cannons. Sheeesh i got wiped so many times because I focused too much or too soon on one versus the other. Keeping Zeratul alive I found to be key for the late game!
What I found weird about this mission is that all the heroes except Zeratul are air units. They should have made Zeratul pilot the Void Seeker in this mission (provided it's not yet destroyed at this point in the timeline).
I'd think it makes more sense for Jim to meet Valerian _after_ he finished this mission, so that his "bigger than any of us" speech hold more weight than just misled optimism it seemed to be.
But there isn't any real canon, is there?
The real canon is the friends you made along the way
Thanks for the advice! I beat this on Brutal with the following stats:
Enemy Units Killed: 3360
Hybrids Killed: 155
Waves Sent: 67
Admiral urun sounds just like tassadar
i love the way you have been playing this series and hope you countinue in the next as well!
Wish I had a bottle of jaggermeister near me when watching the video. A shot for every "momentarily"!
Anyway, I'm enjoying the series even though I played the campaigns a bunch of times and watched your other playthrough! GG Jay!
What’s funny is right as I was watching your outro for piercing the shroud this video pops up in notifications XD
That Probe was the Probius of that timeline.
So that Probe is Probius
you helped me out a ton, thank you very much :D
Honestly it's good that you spared the last zeratul mission until just before Char. Narrative-wise it doesn't make a lot of sense for Raynor to tell everyone Kerrigan is the key to stopping the end of all life in the universe only for them to later go "Oh you just signed us on with our mortal enemies because you can't get over your girlfriend." It's like, NO DIPSHIT I ALREADY TOLD YOU! I WANT HER BACK FOR PERSONAL REASONS SURE BUT ALSO REMEMBER I TOLD YOU ZERATUL SAID THAT IF SOMEBODY KILLS HER THEN WE'RE ALL PRETTY MUCH FUCKED! DID YOU SOMEHOW FORGET THAT DETAIL IN THE LAST FEW HOURS??? BECAUSE IT'S PRETTY DAMN IMPORTANT TO WHY WE'RE DOING THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE MATT!
I don't remember how I learned it but I spent years, when playing this mission, just making a dark templar wall on all three entrances and flying around in phoenix's killing the overlords before they get too close. It always felt so cheesy. That being said, Jayborino still plays it way better (kills wise) than I am capable of. lol! I definitely only did Blaze of Glory once. And I don't care to relive it.
Years later I still don't understand why Kerrigan had to survive to prevent this. Yes we needed her to KILL Amon, but the Protoss were able to banish him to the void and foil his plants all on their own.
no. Because in the timeline they kill Kerrigan, i believe that kerrigan die at the end of the Wings of liberty, Raynor did not take the bullet for Kerrigan, without Kerrigan the zerg swarm will be leaderless and will fall into Amon's hand. I should remind u that the swarm is extremely dangerous, even the protoss have to run with tail betweem the leg when fight against their full strenght. In the game timeline when Raynor save Kerrigan, she got stronger and control the whole swarm, and with the swarm, she hunt and destroy Amon's right-hand man (Narud) and most of Amon's hybrid-breeding facilities. That's why in the third installment (Legacy of the Void), Amon has to rely on take control of the Protoss through Khala, and a ragtag Mobius soldier bunch and a few renegade zerg group that kerrigan miss and not bring in the swarm which he can control. Basically with Kerrigan alive, Amon doesn't have the most powerfull army in the Sector but has to rely on the bunch of last minute gathering soldier

Possibly my very favorite mission in all of Wings, in Legacy of the Void, i felt these heroes were sorely missed. We only say Artantis, Zeratul, and Selendis. Where were Urun and Mohandar? Urun was likely part of the golden fleet, but Mohandar is dark templar!
Urun fate was changed after Hearth of the Swarm. He was send to protect the Protoss under attack by the brood of Niadra. You know her in the Metal Gear Larva mission.
Sadly he die protecting some Terran Marines and for that the relationship between the Dominion and the Daelaam worsened.
Mohandar was the second in command of the Nerazim (Dark Templars) and a long friend of Raszagal.
After she die by Zeratul's hands he become the leader and during the events of Hearth of the Swarm, he along with Vorazun, have to deal with an uprising from his own people that refused to side with Artanis and the Khalai, blaming them for all that happened during the Brood War events.
Ironically he die by his own people's hand.
So sad I wanted see more of them.
I just realized, the Enemy Slain counter doesnt go up from Nydus Worm drops
That used to be an exploit to get crazy high numbers that has since been patched. In any case, I could've used more specific building placements to block and more ground units (the enemy waves are based on your unit comp) to go much longer, but I wanted to have a video here that was impressive, but not insufferably long.
I wonder what line will Raynor say if he's still alive and joined Zeratul on the fight against the hybrid.
I think I got up to about 4k kills one time, but yeah, it gets real hard after 3k. With the amount of units streaming in at that point, 4k means I probably only lasted about two minutes longer than Jay. :P
Man. Fenix would be turning in his grave if he found out that Jim had to save Sarah's life.
Which grave??
The first one or the second one??
@@Covolsky The one that he actually stays in.

I think the highest kill count I've seen is something like 12k or so :)
You talking about this one ruclips.net/video/hGM3wuVs440/видео.html
What is the name of vid timeline where kerrigan dies and you must find the archive?
StarCraft Universe
How do you move so fast? How do you toggle through different task so fast?
Funny, I think it's different phrase today, than "I love it when a plan comes together"
Artanis looks different here.
If you are talking about him dressed in all that could Royal Armor? Well he started as a junior Executor to become literally the full ruler of the Protoss.
18:29 "69, that's fantastic." No, that's nice.
Imagine if you could do this map, but with a co-op commander. Who would you choose?
"I love it when a plan comes together" ...A-team? Hannibal was behind this end of it all? LOL
Queue the music!!
How about having some fun on the Arcade machine in the Cantina?
It is destined.
with all those video for speed runs, shouldn't there be a bunch to see how long one can last on maps like these
Damn the Hybrids don't look too tough in this battle...
If this is vision of the future, how come Zeratul and Artanis are both alive and not under control of Amon?
Possible explanation: In this timeline Zeratul never really found out about Amon and never had to worry about him warning Raynor about Kerrigan's importance or Artanis about Amon's plans. With Kerrigan dead and the Protoss clueless he was free to take his time and take control of the Zerg to destroy the Koprulu sector. It was Zeratul getting the Terrans to save Kerrigan and warning the Daelaam that forced Amon to accelerate his plans and brute force his way into the Khala, letting him control the Golden Armada in lieu of the Zerg Swarm, at the cost of opening himself up to seasoned Khalai templar like Rohana. Without any of that hassle, he's free to leisurely take his time absolutely overwhelming the Terrans and Protoss without any risk to himself.
Possible behind-the-scenes explanation: Blizzard were making this up as they went along.
Once you vortex, first thought: Where's your archons?
And this is the point at which the SC2 plotline jumped the shark :(
Sorry, what do you mean "jumped the shark"?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_the_shark
If zeratul dies before the 2.5k mark the other leaders would take turns discussing what the *dark voice* was talking about...
You forgot vikings upgrades for hel's angels /cry but well played m8 that was a nice playthrough and i almost thought you were gonna forget to cash in at the lab hehe but luckily it came to you.
?? I already paid for both
i wonder how long you could hold on if playing terran...
Hey if you had the entire Daelaam army. Corsairs could destroy that muta wave easily
Too bad I can't beat this mission on brutal huhuhu :(( Like I'm about 1000 kills away to finish the main objective :((
16:04 the robotics from reaver menace would disagree
3:00 amon is going to wipe out entire universe, who the hell will read it?
You're right - Raynor should stop drinking. What he needs is some terazine.
I'm not so sure. Look at Stetman after being stranded on a Terrazine planet.
