Mr White had a kind of cool charisma. To see him perform live is to witness a seemingly effortless mastery as front man and bandleader. And of course "effortless" takes many years of work!
Classic for Me, My first time was the Head to the sky album , but if course it's still My collection, it's all about positivity and I reluctant didn't do that Fifty some odd years ago,it was Me struggling with My sexuality , pretty much , I allowed Myself to be consumed by everything but Love, which is what Jesus only asks Us for ,I'm going back fifty some odd years ,if You've got or think that might have that issue please just Love on that person❤

I was in the high school band at Milwaukee Juneau, our favorite band in 1978 & 1979 was Earth, Wind, Fire. Because of the blazing horn section, the tight and on time lead and bass guitars our band members listened to them day and night. On top of that the girls like them too.

Heard an HBCU band playing this 2 years ago.......nobody knew what song they were playing......even people in my age group (50's).....the band sounded pretty good and it was the best part of the game.
You are so right bc on the album this song plays right after "After the Love Is Gone" and it transitioned to that intro with the saxophone leading off and then the drums with the lead and bass guitars then the horns, and wow; you felt like jumping up to dance! They were some really great musicians where you could tell they had some training to have learned music!!!

I think it went double platinum: Boogie Wonderland and After the Love is Gone were the big hits, the latter winning a Grammy. I think In the Stone and Star were lesser hits/singles. But I still think this is the best song on the album.
This song has some of the essence of ewf when they first came out!!! Saw them in a concert in Charlotte NC back in the 70's and they did something in their music that made the crowd on the floor lean back from the front row to the back. I was on the floor in that crowd shaking my morocco; you know the thing that has beans inside like the shape of a bowling pin. Whoa, that was a hell of a show!!! I finally went to my seat and still had a great time watching the rest of it. I will never forget that show!!! They always put on a hell of a show. I saw them twice and loved every minute.

@henryhawkins1194 I love that intro too bc of the drums which has the sound so E,W,& F an african beat that was in a lot of their earlier songs as well as the kalimba. They were the best band of trained musicians that ever were which explains why they had so many hits as well as the voices of Maurice White and Philip Bailey and Maurice's lyrics.

@henryhawkins1194 I love that intro too bc of the drums which has the sound so E,W,& F an african beat that was in a lot of their earlier songs as well as the kalimba. They were the best band of trained musicians that ever were which explains why they had so many hits as well as the voices of Maurice White and Philip Bailey and Maurice's lyrics.
