Watching this triggered my Google mini. Music started playing in my kitchen
Thank you! I almost had it working....I practically have, except for mentioning the name of the device Chromecast Audio is attached to. Cool!
Can you get the music to play through both the speaker connected to Chromecast Audio and over the Google Home at the same time?
yes, create a group as i have 5 speakers in mine including my chromecast audio
The problem I have is I can get my Google home speaker to connect to my Bluetooth speaker for it to play out of it the problem is it loses the connection after a while and the default speaker is back to my Google home how do I keep the Bluetooth speaker as a default speaker all the time
Can you get the voice from google home to play through speakers?
Yes. The speakers would need an either an input (to connect a chromecast audio device) or would have to support chromecast audio embedded. We are going to do some more videos on this this week and hope to release them soon. I am currently testing google home with an Onkyo Receiver connected to speakers.
The Handyguys I know Chromecast can play the music through an amp controlled by google home. What im looking for is the voice to reply through the speakers.
Ah. I don't think that would work. The voice response would have to come from either a google home or Google Assistant on your smart phone.
Finally! :-) Looks like you might be able to help me with my setup. I'm moving into my new home in two weeks and because it was a model home, there are speakers built into the ceiling on every floor and in almost every room. (there are 4 in the living room, for example). (I know, right!?).
We've been using 1 Google Home and 3 Google Home Mini's plus two chromecast devices in our existing house and we love it. But I wonder how we can integrate the ceiling speakers in the new house into the Google home network. All of the speakers tie back into the basement in a central location by the electrical panel, fyi but they're not powered (since I don't live there yet. :)). I have a pretty good receiver that I could use but not sure how I'd get it to work.Is there a way to do this using chromecast audio?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm afraid you wont be able to use something as simple as a Chromecast. Something like this system is what you will need. www.russound.com/products/audio-systems
Thanks for the quick reply Brian.
Yeah, that likely will never happen for me. the XZone 4 is almost $3,000 in Canada. I'll have to find another solution.
Does it work with Google Home Mini?
Yup
