The strategy you mention about 13 minutes into the video is actually why it's best to NEVER have Alphen in the party, as his boost attack is by far the strongest part of his skillset. Combine that with the buffs he gets when his hp is low, the fact that using his boost drains his hp, and that he'll never go below 1 hp with the boost attack, and you maximize Alphen's damage output by never using him in the party.
I would argue that using his boost attack every 10 seconds or whatever the recharge time is, is actually less DPS than controlling him on the field and being able to spam Reigning Slash and/or Incineration Wave.
@@ThorsShadow But that would mean using him instead of the other, significantly stronger characters. It also allows him to die, which he will almost instantly because his skillset revolves around sacrificing his own HP to deal marginally more damage. Him having the 2nd lowest DPS of the 6 makes putting him into the main team a waste in general. Optimal seems to be Shionne-Rinwell-Law-Dohalim for basic use, swap Dohalim or Law for Kisara if you need to survive.
@@ThorsShadow Reigning slash spam is a bit too broken. I guess we could say that Law or Rinwell would be higher damage, but it takes setup and time whereas RS you just need a buff and you're doing a little less, if not the same, amount of damage as the other two over time.
I played the base game shortly after watching you do the challenge run of the base game, and even though he may be a glass cannon, the second I got Law I played as him throughout the rest of the game, with the rest of my team being Dohalim, Rinwell, and Kisara. Needless to say, I couldn’t see anything with all of the Artes that Rinwell and Dohalim were doing. Great video and keep up the good work!
I was in the final dungeon when I saw this was scheduled for this evening. I had to finish the game myself just so I could watch this video. Glad I did!
I think I mentioned this in one of your previous videos but I would love to see a challenge in a Shin Megami Tensei -game (not necessarily Persona, though those would be awesome as well. I am thinking more in lines of Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga! Especially Nocturne since it is pretty widely accepted to have plenty of "noob killer" moments and really tough bosses!) As for this challenge, I thoroughly enjoyed this! I've not played the DLC, as you mentioned; It is tad pricey, but the challenge was really fun to watch! Hopefully we see more Tales of... -content in the future as well!
I dont even like the tales series but oh boy I do enjoy the quirky narration and well written/paced scripts. Kudos my friend, hope the numbers will just go up!
Awesome content as always. Still not regretting that I found your channel ^^ Hope you'll have an amazing Christmas, New Year and a lot of fun on your holiday 😁
I got a challenge you can try of your interested it's called the Greed Challenge and in any Persona game of you're choosing meaning spending no money at all and when you have the maximum amount of money you have to beat the game to compete the challenge. Because spending money in persona is kinda crucial at some points for personas (Fusions) or Items.
My first experience with Tales of Arise, and the Tales series in general, was playing on Unknown difficulty. It's brutal, and really highlights just how well made a lot of Arise's combat mechanics are.
Im currently raising the arms weapon points. Probably 1000 each then I'll do new game plus. If i had to rank the game in tales i did i made a tier list. Tales of arise......i like the gameplay bur story snd item list lacked for me.
@@RPGchallengeruns honestly if the gameplay was a bit better I wouldn't mind the story so much. Graces for example hit gameplay perfectly with how it flows perfectly

Pretty nice to see the gang once again up for a new challenge.
Definitely!! I've still got my fingers crossed for a Tales of Arise 2.

Thank you! And you're right, this DLC is definitely on the pricey side. Worth picking up if it's ever on sale though!
another fantastic video man, I love all the videos you push out and the work that goes into them. Keep it up! il be here!

I have another challenge btw
“Can you beat persona 5 tactica with only the starter guns”
Thank you for doing this! I was hoping you would do this!
Bruh, why would anyone complain about your runs? That’s so funny XD
Getting hate is part of running a RUclips channel, I suppose. I just like to mock those people because their comments are hilarious. 😂
@@RPGchallengeruns That’s true. Getting hatemail is almost like a rite of passage in the Gaming/RUclips world.
Should try for a Legend of Legaia challenge run!
Ooh an old one! I don't think I've played it - is it worth trying?
@@RPGchallengeruns VERY good PS1 RPG.

It might be a time consuming run, but Final Fantasy XVI without any Eikon abilities or magic would be entertaining.
You're evil...
I like it.
@@RPGchallengeruns I'm not that bad. I wouldn't even make you do it on Final Fantasy mode.
Would you ever consider doing Unknown difficulty some time? I think that's even harder 😱 - fun video as always, your patience is incredible 🥳
Would love to! I have one more idea for a Tales of Arise challenge run if there's enough demand for more.
My first experience with Tales of Arise, and the Tales series in general, was playing on Unknown difficulty. It's brutal, and really highlights just how well made a lot of Arise's combat mechanics are.
You got TIRED?!?! I thought you just went Zen Calm Mode haha.
Experience... Tranquility. ✨
Good stuff gg
Have you done a Lost Odyssey playthrough?
Not yet! What challenge conditions would you recommend?
Dare you to do Berseria!
Nice!
you’re next video should be a persona 3 reload challenge run
Where are you man? Hope everything's ok. Miss you're videos. It's doing MMMMAAASSSIVVE DAMAGE to me. 😪
Where are u?

I think the graphics and gameplay are massive positives for Arise, but I agree the story can be weak at times. I'd still give it a 10/10!
