Did you know you can use kinesiology tape instead of frownies? It does the same job, just cut strips to size and they are way less expensive. One of my favourite priducts this year has berb the Inkey List 15% vitamin c and EGF serum. I love it. Very affordable too 😊
I love that Gold Bond Retinol lotion! Even if it didn't have retinol, I'd still use it. My skin feels sooooo soft the morning after application. It's mind-blowing.
I love your hair today! I’m wondering if you have a video showing us what you use and do to care for your hair… if not can you please share with us? Or maybe even just update us on what you use/do currently if you have an old video up already?❤
This is off topic, but I so appreciate your review of the EltaMD Pure! I’m allergic to most sunscreens (even vanicream) and when I heard other reviews of eltaMD Pure I hesitated. The white cast is minimal and has given me 0 reactions. It has been a god send.
Love the video. Next year can you add in: eye creams, day/night moisturizer, shampoo/conditioner, & scalp detox budget products? Love your content a lot.
Love your channel! I’m 59 years young & I’ve recently put together a morning & night time skincare routines, based on your videos. But, I get easily overwhelmed & confused by how many ‘favourites’ you have as well as what the ‘must haves’ that should be in a skincare routine are. Would love for you to tweak my skincare routines ❤ Currently I’m using the following products: Night time - L’Oréal Revitalize Lift 10% Glycolic Acid, Avene A-Oxitive Peeling Cream, La Roche-Posay Toleraine Sensitive Moisturizer. Daytime - Neutrogena 20% Vitamin C, Elf Holy Hydration with SPF Face Cream
I’m 60, and a retired licensed Esthetician. I too used the Neutrogena Vit C. Then I did a deeper look into the other ingredients in it. I switched to the Vanicream’s Vitamin C. I can’t say enough great things about it! I highly highly suggest you switch! It’s a lower percentage than Neutrogena but a better, far more stable C. So you get more bang for less strength. If that makes sense! Plus the other ingredients are just so much better, your skin will thank you! It’s also less expensive (under $20) You won’t be disappointed! And no, I don’t work for Vanicream lol lol I did work for Estée Lauder at one point in my life. 😊 Funny thing is I still used Olay! It looks like you’ve made some great choices in your skincare routine 😊 keep up the great work! Consistency is key! You can find Vanicream’s Vitamin C at Target and Walmart. I paid $18
I am a new subscriber and LOVE LOVE LOVE this affordable video!! If you haven’t and can possible do…. I would love to see a step by step on how to use,how much, what areas to concentrate on the face, and what order to put these in. I also have a hard time figuring out the order to put the products in and when to use them (day or night). An how long to let each product sink in before adding the next. I went thru a really bad abusive relationship and I am done with all of that and let my skincare, hair care, nails and just beauty all together go downhill! Now I want to get back to being the old me so don’t know what to do to get my clear clean radiant skin back that I use to have. I have a lot of hyperpigmentation on my face and body and don’t know how to get an even skin tone back so would love to see some videos on how to get back well kept healthy skin and beauty! Please help! I M always told thinnest product to thickest but a lot of them are the same and I know you shouldn’t mix some serums together and use some in morning and some at night but it’s very confusing!!! Especially when I have all the products just don’t know how to get the great results everyone says cokes from using them! New year and want to be NEW ME!!! Help please!!! 😀🤗👍💄Thank you for all your videos again they really are way more helpful then you can probably imagine and make hard beauty days easier and to push thru even when you feel so ugly so your awesome chic!!!! 😁
Forgot to tell you that I started using the Cetaphil sun 50 sheer mineral sunscreen stick with vitamin E and I have sensitive skin and this is the only mineral that doesn't buy and peel me, I'm loving it and sticking with it because is very hard for me to find one that does good without hearting my face and is very affordable is small but last 0.5 onces
Hey Dr Maren- I found you last year about this time and purchased all off your suggestions as your best/ favorites of 22. I used the the Timeless Vitamin C about 3 purchases- using everyday as you suggested. You did talk about other brands but made comments some of them had droppers in them for dispensing and you didn’t advertise that- the exposure to the air would soon lessen its strength. But I decided I wanted to try another Vitamin C … Timeless was so watery and just didn’t like the smell. I spent a bit more a bought LaRoch Posay ( love those products) vitamin C with the dropper. And sure enough… about a week ago I noticed it was beginning to smell a bit different and alot of dark stickiness on the edge of the dropper. I just bought this in Sept… and have a good bit left. Guess I will have to discard it. I kept in my bathroom cabinet because it was dark and i loved this serum… and it smelled so nice. I just had to report my experience… you were right. The exposure to the light/ air caused a big loss for me. I just loved it. Merry Christmas!!
I also tried timeless Vit C serum and loved the product and the package, but somehow it was leaking :( I used also LRP, and had same experience as you, I've tried CeraVe, and still did not work due to packaging. Now I've found Medk8 their serum which comes into 2 small bottles of 15ml each, with dropper but so far so good, it is a bit strong. Will see how it goes, might go back to my first choice from Avene A Oxitive serum
What an amazing video! Nice to know that there are good budget friendly skincare product out there. Soo frustrating when you can't afford high end skin care. Thanks to you, even if you have the budget but don't want to spend a fortune when there are reasonable dupes is such refreshing news. I do have one question. Wondering if you have tried the Frownies Facial patches? Looks like such a great product but heard there was a horrible smell that was intolerable. Sometimes these problems could just be a bad batch or expired batch. I would love to try them. I am interested to know your take on this. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to help all of us. Appreciated for sure by many women!!!
In Canada it's getting to the point you can't even buy drugstore. Most creams and serums are $30. Which isn't so bad, but then you need to buy a cleanser, serum, moisturizer, eye cream, face masks, etc. 3 things for $30 is $90. 5 items for $30 is $150. Most olay and L'Oréal products are $40 each. 5 years ago I use to buy olay cream for like $28 (on sale) to $35 but now it went up to $40 because they are a "house name brand" and "well known". So now the only people buying olay are house wives or rich people who can afford it.
Hi Dr. Locke! I LOVE your content! I am a footcare nurse and was wondering what moisturizer you would recommend for the very dry skin some diabetics get on their feet? I've tried urea products....not sure about their efficacy. Thanks!❤❤
I love it! HOWEVER, does bakuchiol actually do anything? I've read Dr Natalia Spierings peer-reviewed study to suggest it's not that special an ingredient, more hype than anything else.
I’ve been searching for a more affordable dupe for the retinol serum by Necessaire. I like your recommendation for retinol lotion/cream but I’m looking for a serum. Thank you!!!
What do you suggest for crepey skin under the arms? I have tried so many products that haven’t worked. I would love to wear short sleeved blouses in the summer
I was looking into the Gold Bond product Dr. Locke was showing (for my husband) and saw they actually make a crepe corrector as well. It seems to have many good reviews, too!
I just got on the waiting list for the last video that you did about the new serum that has so much in it. I forget what it’s called right now do I need all of these items now with it for my face?
I tried the versed antioxidant cleanser and it was a huge flop!!! It stung my eyes, left my face tight and stripped. As a reference I have sensitive skin. Also tried the exfoliating stuff and it’s so harsh! My goodness thought it was going to tear the skin off me! I’ll stick to the aveeno exfoliating product.
I love the gold bond anti aging retinol body lotion . Great pick! I have gone thru 3 bottles already i just slather it on after i get out of the shower. Anything that has any type of retinols in it i am in ! I just purchased an extra few bottles of fhe gold bond to throw into some of my christmas gifts as an extra little bonus. The price is unbeatable 😊
I just found your channel and am loving it so far! Thanks for all the budget finds! I haven’t had a chance to go thru a ton of your videos but was wondering if you had budget recommendations for young girls. My 12 & 14 year olds are getting into skincare and I don’t want them to harm their skin. Any suggestions?
I don't think she's talked about them but channels like Doctorly and Dr Dray have. Dr. Idriss has talked about retinyl esters but not the ordinary ones. Lab Muffin has also talked about them.
I'm surprised Peter Thomas Roth didn't make it onto this list 😏 its fascinating sometimes how big brands are able to even convince the most "budget" type of dermatologists to have their products on.
Paula's Choice has lip peptide (I think Dr Dray has recommended that one). Rhode Skincare has peptide lip products including flavored ones (even though some derms tend to prefer people use nonflavored ones though Rhode does have an unscented one). Kopari has a lip peptide product as well.
Sorry but 40€ for a serum is not budget friendly! Vichy mineral is cheaper and works fantastic (I've tried both). And the best budget friendly moisturizer is Geek and Gorgeous' hialuronic acid! It moistures better than Avene. If your channel is called 'budget' you should stick to cheap and good products, especially when you choose the best ones! Happy New Year🎊 I hope you go back to real budget friendly videos!

I never comment about people's hair since I usually don't care but yours look so radiant and soft. Just love it ❤
She probably goes to the blowout professor channel for hair care lol
but girls dont like blonde hair tho

@@suepreece7946 yay! 😊 It’ll be a great addition to your routine! You’ve already got great products! Have a very Merry Christmas 🎄
I love the Neutrogena Gentle Cleanser, it truly is gentle, effective and budget friendly. I also love the Eucerin facial moisturizer with SPF
Love your videos, you’re down to earth, honest, and I appreciate that.Iv been using three ships skin hero, recently started using vanicream vitamin C .
Loving the ordinary eye peptide serum. So hydrating. I am using a lovely foot cream from Eucerin too. Thanks for some great recommendations❤

I purchased CosRx peptide eye cream that's nice.
You have beautiful hair! Can you please do a video on best hair products?
I use kinesiology tape i cut into patches for my frown lines. Works just as well and costs a fraction for way more
Great video! Have you tried prequels vitamin c? I think you’ll love it!
This video is awesome, thank you for all your excellent information this entire year. Love your channel. Have a lovely Christmas 🎄 ❤

Whats better, to have the skin barrier in a serum or cream/lotion?

What foundation do you wear on this video looks like nice coveragex
What should u use on an aging neck?
Yes! I have the dermelect nail polish and it last.
Hi thank you for your videos! When will Avenue go back on sale?
I love it! HOWEVER, does bakuchiol actually do anything? I've read Dr Natalia Spierings peer-reviewed study to suggest it's not that special an ingredient, more hype than anything else.
It's an antioxidant. I've seen other derms say as long as you use it as an antioxidant and don't expect it to act like a retinoid, it's fine.
I’ve been searching for a more affordable dupe for the retinol serum by Necessaire. I like your recommendation for retinol lotion/cream but I’m looking for a serum. Thank you!!!

Short of cosmetic procedures, most videos on this suggest a body retinol, moisturizer, sunscreen, occasional exfoliation, etc.
I was looking into the Gold Bond product Dr. Locke was showing (for my husband) and saw they actually make a crepe corrector as well. It seems to have many good reviews, too!
Sunscreen more and more 😊 Thanks 👍🎉
I can't find the Inkey List Tripeptide Plumping Balm on Amazon. Do I have to go through their website?
I just got on the waiting list for the last video that you did about the new serum that has so much in it. I forget what it’s called right now do I need all of these items now with it for my face?
Do you use the blue base coat first then layer over the other ridge filler? If you could just choose 1 of those which do you think is doing more?
Great video!!
Can the eye serum be used on the eye lid?
How would you layer these serums and actives when you use metrogel 2x day for rosacea?
Thank you, thank you thank you❤❤❤
Great video, thank u!

Thank you! ❤

Nice job!
Live in the u.k do you know anywhere here i can get vain cream ?
No budget moisturizer for the face? Didn't notice that in the video
I'm surprised Peter Thomas Roth didn't make it onto this list 😏 its fascinating sometimes how big brands are able to even convince the most "budget" type of dermatologists to have their products on.
Hi lovely vlog skincare 🎉 😊 xx
I wanna use peter thomas vitamin c but they are more expensive than Prius😭😭😭
good stuff
Thank you i lovw you
That peptide lip treatment tastes so bad, I had to return it! Bitter and like plastic
Paula's Choice has lip peptide (I think Dr Dray has recommended that one). Rhode Skincare has peptide lip products including flavored ones (even though some derms tend to prefer people use nonflavored ones though Rhode does have an unscented one). Kopari has a lip peptide product as well.
