Shooting through a snipers scope with an air rifle?

- Attempting to shoot clean through the middle of a rifle scope with an air rifle.
we have heard the myths and legends about shooting back through a snipers rifle scope, can it be done with an air rifle?
i had a selection of hi penetration pellets , the H&N hornets and jsb exact in .177
the rifle used was an Anschutz 9015 and an optisan cp rifle scope.
If nothing else you have no doubt increased the scope clarity. Top job !
absolutely great video mate cracked me up . down our club we have a scope mounted on an old rifle and have it out at 10 metres the scope has no glass a plate on the back with a hole and a bell behind it . 5 shots 5 points for a bell ring . great fun with open sights 👍

Great video, would like to see an fac pushing a heavy slug, to see the difference, I was target shooting at 100 yards with my maverick 22 fac, 30g h&n slugs at 960fps, the board behind is over 2 inches thick and the slug were passing through like it wasn't there

Should have edited out all but the first and last shots and made it look like a hole in one !
its the shape of the lenses that made it so difficult to get through the glass the pellets deflect off the convex multi layered glass and the force would deflect to the outer edge rather than stay in the center of the impact point
I was really surprised when I watched the slomo footage of how they fractured. I've got to say though, for a budget model of scope it was really alot more stout than I expected it to be.

To be fair mate, after the first shot they were exactly what I wanted to use but didn't have any with me.i bet they would have done a great job on it.

Yes mate not good,but surprisingly stout for a budget model.gotta give it a bit of credit for that..
Perhaps you should use something rather than a air rifle. Be lucky if that's got the power to go through a tin can 🤣
