In this video, Lore Keeper tries to debunk the big lie that Insomniac Games has tried to tell us in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, and even is the foundation of the entire game: that Ratchet and Rivet are dimensional counterparts. Could this possibly be a lie? Could both Lombaxes have nothing to do with each other? Could it be that Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart has much more depth than you may think? I think the fact that Lombaxes only existed in Ratchet’s universe, making them unique to that universe, is the only way to explain the massive plot hole of the great Lombax migration to a new dimension after fleeing Tachyon. If Lombaxes existed elsewhere, there would be several more dimensionators, and copies of Lombaxes we already know, which would complicate things tremendously. But most importantly, Lombaxes being unique to one universe would explain why Rivet is an orphan in her dimension. It makes more sense than another entire civilization of Lombaxes having their own existential threat and retreating to the same universe as the other Lombaxes did.
But at the end of the day, Rivet still met Kit, eventually, and she did fill the same role as Ratchet. So could she be a counterpart by fate even though she wasn’t born there? The only difference now is her history and her bloodline/genetics.
Yeah, totally agree on the Lombax being unique part.
And about the last bit, yes. At the end Rivet fits the role of "A Ratchet that hasn't met Clank", but that's why she fits why all the "Ratchet counterpart" thingy, at least in a narrative way.
I would like the new part of Ratchet and Clank to be released as soon as possible.

@eperVG what if he didn't get rid of them because he realized still need them so mutated them to be docile and can retcon 3 fingers because not be dumb so maybe if retcon them or some live underground in fear
Also in the last Lorb Mags says “I hope you find your way back to us.” This pretty much confirms this.
That Azimuth and Rivet thing is what I was thinking. Imagine they go to the Lombax dimension and they find out Rivet is an Azimuth and they don’t want history to repeat itself.
that would be an awesome sequel.

We know from the Insomniac leaks that sadly there’s only one Ratchet and Clank game slated for the future, nothing Resistance related, and everything else is just Marvel stuff. They have several interesting IPs that unfortunately aren’t being used. Let’s hope with the runaway success of Helldivers 2 on pc Sony starts porting over a lot of their older games. I’d be willing to fork over money for collections of their older games.

In addition to enhanced collections it would also be awesome if they were to give us Dead Space/Resident Evil style remakes of their older games. If it were up to me we’d get remakes of Killzone and Resistance, and/or collections of the originals. Both IPs have a lot of genuinely interesting lore. Plus, they’re both some of the very few good “Halo Killers” because they for the most part had their own identity and weren’t trying to copy something else while lacking a basic understanding of what made their inspiration work.

I wouldn't say "it's a lie", but more a misunderstanding between Ratchet and Rivet.
Btw I had the same theory when looking into the games.
I mean, the "lie" part is to give the video a little more pressence, but yeah.
@@LoreKeeperVGyea, I wrote the comment before watching the video, later added the "btw" part and decided to leave it as is, even tho you pretty much said everything already.
very interesting theory, i myself had a similar thought awhile back like "so, if rivet's dimension doesn't have native lombaxes, and we never see any morts in ratchet's dimension, maybe the morts are the stand-in for the lombaxes.", but you went into a lot more detail and parallels, especially the part with how the first thing we see the morts do is fix a ship.
but also, here's something i think you'd find interesting. awhile ago, someone made a compilation of ratchet's voice lines from rift apart, and this compilation featured some rather interesting cut dialogue, specifically two lines where ratchet reacts to the first and last lorb entries.
for the first one he says: "kaden? meaning dad? how long ago was this? and who's the voice?'
and for the last one he says: "thanks mags, whoa, so did rivet get left behind? i need to talk to her later about all of this."
both of these lines also have two separate recordings, one where ratchet sounds hurried, and one where he sounds calm, which might suggest these lines were meant to play during gameplay, as in insomniac's own spider-man games, when peter and miles are on the phone, they can sound either strained or relaxed depending on whether you're swinging or walking.

Ratchet is my most love instead I been in love with ratchet every sense I was a kid . I would die for him.

Thats fair but the concept art for rivet one of her designs is similar to alister color scheme and maybe why alister never mentioned having a daughter because he thought she was dead and never wanted to talk about it but also the reason he wanted to go back in time not only prevent his mistake but to also save his daughter

My headcannon is that all Morts are clones of each other with very slight genetic quirks making them slightly different from each other. That is the only sane reason they all have the same name. Whenever Rivet referred to a Mort, my immediate question is: "Which one?!"
I mean it's pretty obvious.Mags stated that the lombaxes were scattered across dimensions and if she was a opposite gender version of ratchet,why wasn't captain quantum,Emperor nefarious,Pierre female versions of Qwark,Dr nefarious and Pete.But I do think that the Insomniac devs knew that she wasn't a dimensional counterpart of Ratchet because she said she didn't know that it was possible for her to meet up with the lombaxes.So basically the the Lombax council exiled Azimuth and sent his unborn daughter to another dimension like how kaden sent Ratchet to Solana.

Who are dimensionally locked? The lombaxes are clearly not.
And no, that's a pretty poor and misleading summary of my theory. First of all, I don't think I even talk about physical similarities between Rivet and Ratchet (who aren't that similar tbh), and Morts having 5 fingers (along with other things) isn't just "not looking like the lombaxes" in a world in which literally EVERYONE has 3 fingers unless they have any kind of relationship with Ratchet and the Lombaxes. I recommend you watch the theory again.
