Frustrating that we didn’t get much of the distortion patches, because that weird digital distortion is something I want to get more samples of.

The distortion is the weakest part of the unit imho. Very thin, very digital. :(

I had a loan of one of these from a mate, it had great sounds. Unfortunately his screen crapped out, I'm not sure If he fixed it.

I sell these on after I make a few vids with them. This one will go on the block soon :)

When the screen breaks down you can replace the memorie battery. After that you can control the contrast mode again. The screen should work properly again. You can also do a total factory reset. After al this the screen will pop up again for sure but your prests will be lost.

Are there lots of programmable parameters you can save or is it just presets?

Wads of programmable parameters!! I didn't go in to them in this vid, just running through presets :)

I like the time based effects (delay, chorus, reverb). Surprisingly there are a few overdrive preset patches that sound more than decent (Tube Singing etc).

It sounds like a step filter set to random filter params each step. Bit of chorus and possibly ring modulation in there too.
You'd probably have more luck finding it as a plugin in a DAW.
