Would you be interested in covering the concept of adjusting volumes of elements, gain staging and achieving tonal balance in hypnotic techno? I hear use reference tracks, but I feel this advice is the same as always mono your bass… How loud for the kick before mastering stage, how loud the other drums around it, how loud for synths/sequencers, ambients and noises, fx… I use Izotope Tonal Balance Control which helps a lot, but I notice some of my mids focused elements lack in volume when played on different systems.

0:33 - these ain't mastering tools mate, Neve is great for colour and used in recording/mixing situation, Pultec is mono, SSL saturation and Culture VUlture Limited Edition, as well, both could be used in mastering, but those are tools for production/tracking/mixing. Dangerous Music 2bus ain't compressor, and the one on the top, it looks like ssl 4k, but I could be wrong.....Anyway, def, not a tools for mastering, where usually the tools are high end EQs and compressors/limiters.....and certainly mackie 1604 ain't mastering grade mixer, but rather lowfi noisy old mixer:). I mean, this is all hype to use any expensive outboard when dealing with the noise.....you could use old casette player/recorder and can get similar lo-fi effects....come on we talking about the noise, ain't we?
