Thank you Ron this helps alot bud but your previous video hit it right on the mark for me. I got the Tgz 380 and that basically is a beastX clone since I can't afford a beastX I went budget lol. I like the beastX because you dont need a computer or Laptop to configure or program the gyro. It has a very user friendly interface but then again I am new to cp helicopters. I am building a 450 trex clone by hobbyking its called The (HK 450 TT Pro FBL). Heres my layout of what I using Ron. Align 1800 kv motor, Esc is Align 45a 3s to 6s. Ec3 connector. For the cyclic servos I am using Turnigy Tgy-90s digital metal gear micro servos. For the tail servo I am using Corona micro digital servo. My gyro is a Tgz380 my reciever is a walkera Rx-701 and my Transmitter is of course Devo 7 which by the way I will be changing because it is absolutely horrible and impossible to program. One of the worst interfaces I have ever seen. I am Thinking about using Either Radiolink or Flysky. What's your opinion Ron? am I using the right gear? I cant seem to bind the servos when I am programming the gyro I am lost and I need any advice Can you please help? I also own 2 other CP helicopters a Walkera V450 D03 and a Alzrc 480 devil which by the way is gorgeous.
Ron- Your video's are excellant. I am using the Microbeast on a Align Super Dominator 470LP__ I have been flying it for several months now. All my settings seem to be ok. I have yet to run into someone who can advise me on -when swash is all the way negative & I cycle servos they bind up with bottom of servo/frame-they make contact because overextending? I have bound to DX9. I'm no where near the level to go full neg. & spin yet so it's not a problem yet. It can't be good for servos though. I suppose the Micro Beast would be where I would adjust it to stop before binding but not losing the throw?---Bob
That would work also. When I do it this way, I am assuming that the rods are the proper length already. I changed this to Microbeast when my CGY750 sensor failed, so I knew they were because it had already been setup. That is a good point though. If someone were careless with their measurements, this method could make a mess.
Love how you make it simple Ron. I bought the laser levelling tool and I must say its perfect. Just wondering can you do one to cover smaller helis like Align 250 DFC?
I like yr laser method...imagine u will haft to make sure the heli it's self would haft to be on a perfectly level surface before using this method mind u?...
awesome tip on the laser really... one question. shouldnt you first find perfect 90 to the rods (as you do nicely with that clear print) and then adjust ONLY the rods to achieve level swash and be ok leveled at full pitch also? (ok this is exagerrating but you know.. :) )
you say, it's important that you adjust your pitch to zero before you change the status light to off. what did you mean exactly with it ? After leveling the swashplate, setting zero pitch on the grips first before exit the microbeast step G setup menu? should I pre-levelled the swashplate mechanically, before I fine tune it over the microbeasts setup step G, or is it not necessary ?
Hi Ron great video, hoping you can help me out i have interaction on full positive and negative stick, half stick its dead level,no trim or sub trim, all end points are 100%,max pitch is 11 degrees both ends,is this normal on the Beast X,Thank you.
Ron I don't see any movement on the servo when I move the elevator stick... that is on all of the servos. I ended up setting the swash plate level mechanically. Any idea why the elevator stick would not move a servo?
Hi there Mr Ron, Just want your opinion on this. I already pre-levelled my swash (new mini protos) using a swash leveller with some subtrims on 2 of the servos to get 90 deg. That is before the my bx came. Now, do I need to zeroed all back (subtrims) when setting my beastx later on?
Hi Ron, you're doing it wrong. Step 1: center all servo arms to 90 degree ***electronically*** in Microbeast Step G. (btw. great idea to use a template) Now all 3 cyclic servos are perfectly in sync. Save the setting. Step 2: Enter Step G in the Microbeast again, but make sure you don't change the settings from step 1. Step 3: Level the squash plate ***mechanically*** using the 3 linking rods. You will need to adjust only two of the three linking rods. It's a lot of work because you might take the links off several time to adjust the length. Or use a small 2mm wrench to adjust the linking rods in place. Step 4: exit Microbeast menu and check the squash plate at minimum and maximum pitch. The squash plate should now perfectly leveled in it's highest and lowest position. If you omit step 3 the squash plate will probably have some deviation at minimum and maximum pitch. The sqash plate is fine in the middle position but not at the min. or max. position, because the angle of the 3 servos are slightly different. Only if all cyclic servos have exactly the same angle the squash plate can move straight up and down without any unwanted tilts.
I'm sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. You started off saying I was "doing it wrong", however, if you watch the all of the videos, you will see that we agree. That is what the template is for. I only use step G to make the finest adjustments.

Ron I and everyone want you to keep making these great Videos!
Thanks James. We'll see. These things evolve so quickly, it's hard to keep up.
Great detailed job! Good channel you have created. Thank you.

Very, very profesional tutorial video.
Good tips

You are awesome man I wish you could come over and set this HD cell 500 up for me this is a pain in my ass
great job!!!!!! keeep it up ron....
Yes. Reset the transmitter before you do the setup.
Love how you make it simple Ron. I bought the laser levelling tool and I must say its perfect. Just wondering can you do one to cover smaller helis like Align 250 DFC?
Can someone tell me the name of the laser level and where I can purchase it?

Could you us show how to reset the Microbeast to the factory setting?

What about the rudder servo? Can i add subtrim to it? Regards
