Glad you found Taproot. When this came out Taproot was on tour with Linkin Park and Papa Roach! Your timeline is on point sir. Check out more Taproot one of the best numetal bands!
The first line of the Chorus explains what the basis of the song is about. This is like a mantra for himself to be able to live life. "This song is a Poem to myself. It helps me to live..." But the lessons and story/words can resonate with others personally for the same reasons.
That grisly BREAK that you mimic'd is something Stephan is known for. You'll hear it in many of their songs. Typically it's used as his way to set up a hard instrumental followup.
If it's Nu Metal, it's Nu (new) Metal to Lee😂😂😂 I could tell you liked this song, you were talking fast which is cool by me 😁😁 Great reaction👌 This is what I grabbed from Wikki about the video/song: Taproot worked with directing team Brothers Strause, whose other work includes Linkin Park and Godsmack, on the music video for "Poem." Shooting took place on August 8 and 9 in Los Angeles wth broadcasts beginning in early September 2002. The "Poem" video has Taproot performing inside a crumbling old house. A young man and woman are seen intensely kissing and groping one another amidst the chaotic destruction of the building. Vocalist Stephen Richards unpleasantly bears witness to the couple as he sings, giving the impression of a bitter history between them.
@@michaelburkhart4207 Thanks Michael. For so many years I was teased for the style of music I like to listen to. It's nice to be with ppl that love this style just as much as I do. Your words have put a skip in my step today. Thanks😁😁
New band for me Daphne. Got me! Need to hear more of them to get an overall feel of their music. On this track, I get a mix of Queens of the stoneage, Red hot Chili's, and Korn.
For a lot of Taproot fans from the early days, Poem is one of the songs that they enjoy least. (At least during this time period) This song got the most mainstream acclaim and play including being in a video game, but for many older fans the song was too poppy/cliche compared to what Taproot was known for previously. If you want earlier Taproot, then Something More Than Nothing, Gift, and Upon Us. If you want a little more evolved Taproot, yet still having a bunch of songs that have the older feel then Welcome, Our Long Road Home, Plead the Fifth and Blue Sky Research. And yes, a lot of Stephan's songs are about relationships and or family. Some songs to think about: Mirror's Reflection (Mentobe EP version) Impact Flatline Mentobe Negative Rein4sment Scapegoat Game Over What's Left Fractured Path Less Taken
Welcome album is very underrated, every song is great except like. But release me and again and again are also good, please react to one of these songs
The song doesn't make any sense, you look like me I am sorry for you, you sound like me I can't understand you, song needs more to it they have so many other songs but like.
@dvda9725 Whatever you say, man, it's pointless to argue over this. It's just a song, it's your opinion. One thing we got to agree on is that rock music is awesome, and us rockers shouldn't argue. Nowadays, it's hard to find people who like taproot, trapt, trustcompany, or any type of rock band, that's what makes us unique, I love rock music because it's different

Great band.
Yeah ! But that sudden scream vocal type remind me more of a Disturbed than LP

@@daphned.7489 I'm a LOT older than Mike, so he probably doesn't remember me, but I've followed them, and have been happy for their success. :)
