Very Japanese styling. Very intimidating knife. Done with care and pride.
Marek, this knife belongs in a high-end kitchenware catalog and/or retailer!
nice! I hope you have a really big kitchen to put it in!
That’s not a kitchen knife mate, that’s Excalibur😂
Great video though!
These knives have real personality! I have some great kitchen knives (Wüsthof, Messermeister, Shun...), but my favorite is made by my grandfather during the World War II, from unknown material. It's ugly, blackened, but still razor sharp.
That is a amazing job. Quality 10...
Watermelons don’t stand a chance now you can cleave them in two 😎 great knife 🥳😍👍
Caution
Please be extra careful in every progress u made
Well done 👍👍👍🇲🇾
AWESOME JOB! I got kind of squeamish when you were pushing down on the tang. I was like, please don't let his hand slide down that blade. Like how you reheated and used the vice for correct the bend.
Again, impressive work.
Bravissimo. Ottimo lavoro
Nice! Curious though; why such a long handle? Beautiful work, thank you for sharing.
long handle rof big knife :)
Such a big knife needs a big handle to have balance
Maybe he will use it as axe by holding with two hand
Superb, handle is very ergonomic. Good luck
Great job 👍🌹
Estupendo trabajo, quedo estupendo , like y suscrito
That's a great knife to cut a big tuna...
it looks a bit more like a sword than a knife :-). Good job !!! I think, it works pretty well.
I can call it kitchen Sword 🤣
Makes a sense :-) II think your work is excellent !
So cool!
Excelente trabalho. Parabéns 👏🇧🇷
I think you need to make it bigger...Haha. Very nice job!
Хороший нож для разделки мяса сволочей)))👍
I could use one of these. It looks beautiful, amazing process.
I like it,even though its on the larger size.
Pěkně, to už půjde držet obouma rukama 😁
That knife looks super awesome but it's not a kitchen knife... 😊
I like it! It’s a monster!
I would be interested in buying it
Sei un grande!
It's pretty good, but i'm wondering what will you cook with this
It's ok your knife, now, I am waiting to see the next vídeo cooking something with that knife. It is the perfect end for thus video
مرحبا ممكت اكون صديق
Iam simble man i saw hand planes and i subscribe.
buen trabajo, saludos desde buenos aires
Impressive knife. Did I miss it or did you not temper the knife? Won't this leave it brittle?
Its a differnt approach. Notice he only dipped the edge in the oil. Leaves hardness on the edge and strength in the spine.
Fan from Kerala☺
bro, great work again !
Thanks bro 👍
Very big nice 😃😃
Ι need a knife like this 😀😀
Parabéns, linda faca
Fantastic work, Marek! Beautiful knife! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Beautiful knife! If that's what you're calling it. Looks more like a short sword LOL
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Хороший нож получился 👍
Good job!
another great job thank you
next time you can use old ways like old time's blacksmits workers
Thanks 😊
Great work, turned out nice 💪
Very nice work!
How much would you charge for that knife
Beautiful knife bro ....it's very asome
Una belleza te felicito
Prior to quenching, would you normalize a blade cut from a circular saw blade? Assuming it is some form of tool steel other then that I don't know it's composition?
Thanks.
Good work!
But I have some questions:
Why would you heat up the metal? What is that for?
And why you left such a distance between the blade and handle? Even tho, the blade have 90* corner, so you cannot slip your hand on the cutting edge anyway.
Thanks.
Hello,
it is hardening proces.
.it's just a design too, and that's how I liked it :)
@@MarekTabi isn’t saw blade already hardened?
Handle pin support is must any knife
Капусту шинковать норм, арбузик нарезать...
Upea. 👍
Nice work
Is it possible to make a skillet out of an old sawmill blade or are they best for knife making.?
top! do you see a hamon on this one? because ot the differential heat treat?
thats a sword dude
Só não gostei desse cabo, com pouco tempo ele quebra, era para ter empurrado até o tronco.
Kitchen knife lol you could kill a grizzly with that sword
no kill, but I can cut it in the kitchen :D
Good jop bro..
So cool
Нехрена себе тесак, наверное картошку чисттить.
Combat knife 😊
On camera it looks slightly bend from handle side wondering how he couldn't got it.
Muito bom
To vám tam také veľké chleby pečú? Hmm... pekne. Len sa neporež :-) Pekná ostrá práca !
What was the thickness of the saw blade material? Really nice looking knife for big hands😉
Vary nice
I saw Diresta do this without heating the knife … is heating required?
Did you retemper?
Per la serie... Le dimensioni fanno la differenza
Kitchen knife? More like kitchen machete lmao.
Where are you? Any apprentice needed I would do it free!?
Your lack of safety goggles is disturbing, but that was a sweet ass job
Also using a table saw without a fence or miter gauge, and while wearing gloves xD great project tho!
Before i start my own , why did you heat treat it if it comes from a saw blade ? I mean could you just keep the hardness of the saw blade as it was ?
I have an old huge knife that i'm just going to cut it out and make a smaller , do i need to heat treat that ?
There's multiple types of heat treatments for metal, like annealing, hardening/quenching, tempering. Annealing and hardening both usually involve heating metal to glowing red with former letting metal slowly cool back to room temp in order to soften metal making it easier to shape and work (a file for ex: would be very difficult to work and need a grinder & impossible to cut with a hacksaw unless you annealed it first). And with the hardening the metal is rapidly cooled after glowing red by quenching. Tempering lowers the hardness to increase strength and decrease brittleness (an axe or chisel that is used with repeated impacts would crack or break if whole piece was fully hardened but if not hardened at all get dull so tempering reaches a balance. With the saw blade the metal below the teeth is likely not hardened so it doesn't shatter if blade hits a knot or large screw so the edge of the blade would need to be adjusted to hold sharp edge well. The tang is thin and a weak spot where it meets the body and doesn't need to hold an edge. It just needs to survive use so you'd want it tempered on lower end of scale. Heating also helps if you need to bend/straighten any area without creating internal stresses in the metal there (like how bending a paper clip back and forth eventually stresses enough to cause break)
