So for the past year and a half… the Steelseries Arctis 1 have been my go to gaming headset cause they’re very adorable, they fit great, they sound good and they are very convent to use. However, I do think that it is time to upgrade cause Micro USB charging is super inconviente in 2023… and these things aren’t super rugged… and since I solo Que apex, this headset has seen some abuse.

Hi. Great video.. Do you know the difference between eq fouca and smiley? I can't find anywhere.. They change the names I don't know which on its better for first person shooter. My old artic 7x has performance and immersion, performance for fps games and immerson for camping games..

The simultaneous connectivity is exactly what I’m looking for with a Mac/Console setup! Good for keeping discord on one device and still hearing game audio at the same time instead of changing headsets or moving dongles or moving to discord on the console

With the 9x you were able to connect to the Xbox without any dongle. I don’t understand why they decided to use a dongle with their newer headsets. With the 9x you were also able to change presets right from the headset itself. These are kind of a dealbreaker in my opinion.
As someone who has used both I see where you’re coming from. The reason for the dongle is a change in the tech, the 9Xs are purely Bluetooth whereas the novas are RF. I like to walk around my house for things as I’m gaming between matches, RF is FAR superior for longer distances. With the novas I can walk up a flight and outside before they stop getting sound. The 9xs I could barely get 10-20ft with nothing in between but halfway up the flight of stairs they’d Klonkoit and I’d have to re-pair once I’m in front of my console again. Novas are the perfect Headset for my Xbox imo. I’ll take a dongle over native Bluetooth any day now.
The 9x had connection issues and it was widely known. Just do a search for Arctis 9x and connection problems and see how many owners had problems. I owned a pair and had issues myself. The 7x with the dongle has thus far for me had a rock solid connection. They also sound better especially with a custom EQ

I have these, and it sucks that they market them as a Xbox headset, but the really good Sonar software features are PC only.
They're still really great tho, especially at a discounted price. But still...

i cant get voice and mic to work on pc one or the other im dumb
only thing is that I cannot adjust sensitivity of mic as it picks up everything, even the fan in my room,, cant adjust as Im using Mac which renders the software useless? really annoying!
Check to see if the program you're using has noise suppression or noise cancelation built into it
They have a strong bass? I am so confused these are really underwhelming and fairly quite even with volume limited turned off abs bass turned up using SONAR
You have a faulty one or is it your system? These headsets in particular has been proven to have an over the top bass. All trusted reviewers have equalized it because the sound signature kind of sucks tbh.
Even with the sidetone maxed, I can't hear myself on the 7x. It's a deal breaker for me.
That’s odd. I can hear myself just fine with the sidetone on low. You should return it and ask for a replacement!

@chef.ramesses because you naturally hear yourself speak in normal conversation. You lose ability to control your volume and some tone of your voice of you can't hear yourself. Ask a professional singer why they need monitors pointing at them while they're singing. They need that feedback to be able to perform.
It's been a while, but I'm looking to get a new headset. Did you ever manage to sort the sidetone? I will not buy anything that I cannot hear myself with 😂

my problem is that on my ps5 the mic is constantly on even when i disable mic related settings put the slider to 2 ...

I've tried on two Series X's and an S and none of them could charge the headset via USB when in stand-by mode. It would flash green maybe three times and shut off. I have to plug them into an entirely different source to charge them. I think its odd I can't charge them with the thing it's made for.
You might have to play around in your console settings to be able to charge things while you're console is off. Just an FYI
When you mention the headset can be used with both your console and phone simultaneously why do you mention other random things you can run on your phone and not the obvious which is discord?
I notice other reviewers do the same thing and it doesn't make sense especially when that dual use would be used in a game like dayz for example.

the game/chat volume dial doesnt work in ps5. Totally stupid decision from Steelseries. And the 7P for playstation have a sidetone dial rather than game/chat dial. Totally stupid decision and a deal braker. Bought them, returned them do to this lack of funtions in PS5.
