Every individual possesses an ego, and denying its existence indicates a need for personal growth. While most people are controlled by their ego, some have learned to master it. The ego is an inherent aspect of one's being that is always present. By engaging in a continuous battle with the ego, a foolish individual can transform into a heroic one. Personally, I find myself facing challenges with my own ego, but I find pleasure in this process. It adds excitement to my life and consistently prompts me to question my perspectives, leading to personal growth.
Yes. There are some teachers who claim to have completely eliminated their ego. I have seen or heard this from some individuals over time but am yet to see evidence that any of them actually succeeded. No matter how much work is done, there always seems to be at least a small bit of ego left. In my opinion, a truly sincere spiritual teacher will either not comment on their level of attainment, or admit they are still a normal human being with flaws

I’ve experienced this and still have trouble sometimes keeping myself from feeling like I failed the person who was “teaching” me. Separating yourself from it, even after you’ve left, is difficult and it helps to hear this. Also, I try to be careful not to do the same, because it can be easy to fall into people’s accolades and get a swelled head. I don’t think people have to start out as narcissists to end up this way. It can happen to anyone willing to deceive themselves which, if you are not vigilant, can be any of us. Thanks for this video.
That's true. Some teachers mean well but can occasionally exhibit some of these traits. This happens for the simple reason that we all have the ego alive in us to some extent. But if the person shows no remorse for having wronged you, and it becomes a pattern of behaviour, that is a big warning sign.
Great post, thank you. It would be good to balance the issue by a post on the troubles that spiritual leaders can be assailed with from students and others. Students can also be narcissistic, treacherous, or toxic too. Cliques can form as a result of mutiny or envy, rather than poor leadership, especially when the clique share a common intent. There can be sabotage from other rival groups. There is the pressure of comparison. There are the problems of everyday life to contend with too, like anyone else. Because spiritual teachers are only human, and some are brave enough to take up the spiritual banner to share their gifts, it can be incredibly difficult for them when running an organisation.
I almost joined a cult twice. They were hiding behind Christianity.

She is all those things, while pretending (In front of others) to be Holy of Holy. A typical Cult Catholic up bringing I had. Thank God & blessed I now see through all of them, incl my Mother.

There is no perfect group.
I've noticed one person who sells spiritual packages to extremely highly prices , you cant even imagine how ridiculous expensive this is. For example a 30 minute video 1.500 price.she had made a video of explaining why she cost her clients so high, because at her testimony spiritual guides tell her so to do and if she does not problems will accure to both of them, to the Client and to the therapist..
More fool those that part with that kind of money...
