My tip for beginners- there are sooo many liquidy products in k beauty and the best method ive found is to always use ur hands to apply! Granted if youre trying to remove makeup and want to use a cotton pad to see if you have residual that makes sense, but otherwise for me i always pour toner into my cupped palm, press my palms together, rotate my hands and swipe to cover my fingers (i think caroline hirons calls this the "therapist swipe" lol). It takes getting used to, but it makes my liquid products go so much further! And i get hands on (literally) with my toners to feel if the texture is hydrating enough etc and apply another layer if needed! Lovely products in this kit- your skintone is radiant today! I recently ordered that istnree sleeping mask for the summertime when humidity picks up (on sale of course) and that egf ampoule looks to die for- havent splurged on it yet but got a similar abib growth factor product from jolse a month or so ago, and cant wait to dig in!
This is such a great tip!! In the west, we almost always grab a cotton round (wait. No back in the olden days we grabbed cotton balls - olden days of the early aughts 🤣). Hands are indeed better as we lose less product!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Being a guy and having only gotten into skincare 5 years ago, at 31, I feel like applying with hands has become so much more widespread. It’s rarer to hear about people applying with a cotton round. I’ve noticed the only ones who do are ones who have been into skincare since the early aughts 😂
I absolutely love how you take small breaks to give little explanations of things like the regulations in the US that prevents that country from having access to newer skincare/tech as well as what PF/PA means! This was a really informative video and thank you for the Timestamps!
I think if you order stuff that says ships in 24 hours in tiny writing u will get it faster but if you mix up the order with all kinds of products that may not say that it takes longer. I may be wrong but I think that also has something to do with shipping time besides being overseas.
I think that’s a lot of it too. In my big video, I plan to explain splitting up orders. Just to keep things moving, I always make smaller orders (above the free ship threshold lol) just so I can make sure that if one item is OOS, I can get another order sooner. It is interesting that two orders placed on the very same day May arrive at entirely different dates!
The Stylevana order I placed on Black Friday, which then said “shipped” a month ago on the 12th, is supposedly FINALLY getting here on Saturday! I don’t know if I even want any of it anymore 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you so much for this! I'm just now starting to get interested in K-Beauty and just placed an order from StyleVana. Useful to know how long to expect it to take.
As an American with skin allergies, I was slow to make the jump because I always wanted to be able to return to a brick and mortar (hello oxybenzone!). But Asian sunscreen was my gateway and I'll never go back!
Yuuup I was slow for the same reason! It’s so funny as I don’t really even make many returns…but I admit I preferred to order with the “possibility” of making them. However, now I’ve discovered that I rarely have the kinds of reactions with KB that I have with western products (augustinus Bader - perfect example lol). And even if I did, for the low prices? Meh lol. It’s SOOO worth it!!
Ha .. I think only the US can you return sunscreen to stores so this was never much of a consideration for rest of us. It's fascinating that you can return opened sunscreens to stores in the US and other opened skincare products
It’s a blessing and a curse! It’s *wonderful* to get your money back after an allergic reaction/irritation from a product (feels like “at least it’s something” lol). But it truthfully makes it easier to justify purchases we don’t need as well…👀
I think that your video last year comparing Korean online retailers was the most helpful introduction I found for making the ordering process less intimidating. Thank you. Before your video I ordered K/J skincare from Amazon and paid so much more. I usually have more time than money and choose Stylevana for the better prices, Vana reward discounts, %off discount codes and low total needed to get free shipping. I have learned to pay attention to the notation of how long to expect individual items to take. If any one item in your order indicates it may take “up to 30 working days”, all of the order will wait to be shipped. I have ordered one of two items that said “usually ships in 24 hours “ and received them in 10 days; but there is no guarantee. I also shop Style Korean when they have heavy discounts on a number of items I want in order to meet the higher total needed for free shipping. Style Korean has fewer brands and/or items from a brand than than Stylevana, while Stylevana may not have all of the brands and/or items from a brand than YesStyle. I often find the best reviews on YesStyle even if I will ultimately purchase from another retailer. I don’t know why that is.
We’ve really had the same shopping experience in so many ways. Yesstyle has the most helpful reviews (have you noticed that some of the websites have really…unhelpful reviews?), Stylekorean is the best when you catch a wide selection of products you have been eyeing, and Stylevana consistently has the best prices/selection but indeed the shipping is slowest. Pros and cons with all of them, for SURE.
Very good products, very good ingredients. I too use korean skincare products, and since then I sow a significant change in my skin (for the better). Thank you for this video. And your skin looks fabulous after this skincare routine.
The the SAEM Derma Plan Balancing Moisturizer 130ml / 4.39oz is on sale on Amazon on a deal right now for 5.70$ from the actual brand. It’s on a 1 day deal for 68% off. I love when they do this. Just an fyi for anyone interested in a light moisturizer can’t beat Korean ones and fragrance free etc
I've been ordering from Stylevana regularly for nearly 3 years and I usually get my orders within 2 weeks! I live in the UK. The fastest I got my order was in 9 days and it wasn't a kit, a few separate products. I always make sure all items I order are ready to be dispatched within 24 hours. If it says 7-14 days, I leave it out and order next time.
@AliceintheRabbitHole lol I wouldn't mind waiting a month to be honest, as you said we get such good deals and you can always apply a discount code on top. But, if the package is here earlier, I'm not complaining😆
Amazon is also fantastic for getting Korean skincare. The majority I f the sellers are the brands themselves so far so it’s always authentic a tiny bit more but the deals they run sometimes are really good too. I just got the RNW shining emulsion for 5.60$ off Amazon I always keep kbeauty in my cart and then everyday I’ll scroll through the cart and see which ones go on sale or have coupons and there’s usually one. During Black Friday and all the way til Christmas everything was like 50-60% off. That’s if you need something in a day or so and can’t wait!
Hi Alice, it was a great discovery for me how to use Korean cleansers and thank you very much for teaching us, previously I used to run out very quickly. Thanks Alice and greetings from Chile ❤️
Great video and I definitely learned things from your video on how to order from Korean companies. But I have been a customer of these brands for about three years now without waiting more than a month at most. (I never expect to get product from Korea in less than a month), however, this fall I made two orders to first Stylevana and then Yesstyle and waited literally for 6 weeks before canceling one from Stylevana (placed on September 8 and canceled on November 8) and another one from yesstyle that I placed on November 1 and received on December 22 but only after loads of emails. I think the thing that made me the most unhappy was I didn’t get a single sample after waiting all that time. Right now I’m still licking my wounds, but maybe I will try again this year now that I know how to sort properly. I’m hoping that influencers might make an impact on how Korean companies process their orders and signal that a product might be back ordered before a customer makes their order. Anyway, really enjoyed seeing you use these products it’s a great box!
I do feel like this past holiday season was a level of mess that I haven’t seen since 2020! What I don’t know is if it’s Covid-related or unprecedented volumes of orders (or actually both). I’ve actually experienced a 3-month order myself via Jolse. But it was March of 2020 sooooo - I get that one 😅 This batch of November shipping issues felt like it did come out of nowhere, hence the frustration!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I know and as you've said, Stylevana has SUCH good prices and an epic selection, and incentives, etc. I ordered in September to get holiday gifts in time and found myself scrambling to get items months later. I wonder if international orders specifically have grown exponentially and maybe they don't have enough staff or their inventory tracking is inadequate. The worst part is not being able to reach anyone to cancel or alter an order. :-(
I tried the HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Moisture 5.5 Soft Cleansing Gel. OMG, the foam!!!!! Use the smallest amount possible! My skin feels clean, but not stripped. Many blessings💖💖💖
It’s such an exciting release!! I remember when ingredients like those were exclusive to the SUPER pricey product category. K-Beauty is really coming through 🙌
Great routine. Almost every product (ingredients)we use now were animal tested at some point. Then all other companies get the benefit. I can't use chemical filters either. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
Exactly. It’s a wild spot of having somehow too much regulation in some aspects (sunscreen) and not enough in others (WHY are some products named a “retinol” product without containing the ingredient retinol? And other goofiness lol) A lot to improve upon, but hopefully we get there! Hope you have a great week as well 🥰
I recall my first order of Corsx products nearly 20years ago and I should not have used the American brand too frequently as the content is far too strong 😅 The price point is also a huge plus 😊
Laneige, I did not even realize that was K-Beauty. I am falling behind. lol I have Laneige Lip mask, I do like it but not mind blowing as I hear IMO. :) This is a very interesting video, I am enjoying watching it. Thank you!
You aren't wrong about the cleanser size. I use a pencil-eraser sized amount and it's still more than enough foam to get my entire face and neck. They last FOREVER.
I also think that Stylebana has the best prices. However, Wishtrend has amazing shippinf times. I receive my orders in the US around 4 days later. They also have kits at very good price.
Thanks for explaining/defining ampoule. I think I looked it up one time and was more confused so this makes sense. Speaking of filters not available in the US, have you tried the Avene SPF with triasorb or the LRP UVMune 400? Looking forward to the follow-up on the k-beauty sites and ordering. Someone asked in the comments on another channel why their Stylevana order was taking so long as they were new to ordering from them, so the information is appreciated.
I haven’t, but I am thinking of getting back into the sunscreen reviews (come summer, as on 45 F degree days like today, it’s easiest to find me hiding inside…by a space heater 🤣)
Last time I ordered from Stylevana was in August last year. I placed a big order that never arrived to me. I have since then been trying to get in touch with them. They replyed once in november and said that they would get back to me after they contacted the courier. Never heard from them since. Their customer service is really bad. I’m very disappointed and I’m never ordering from them again.
Hi Alice! This video came right on time as I just got the Cosrx snail mucin from the ulta sale. I ordered my first order in November from stylevana but never received it. Should I call my bank to get my money back possibly? I’ve reached out to stylevana but no update 😢. Thank you for your content ❤
DM them on Instagram with your order number! I have heard that’s the fastest way to get a reply I would say you’re within estimates for a November order (especially Black Friday), but if you still don’t have it at the 2 month mark, that’s when I would start getting quite flustered myself. I think they’ll get back to you on IG though 😊
Can u do full brand reviews of iope? It's the most fascinating brand to me right now. Seems quite affordable too. More value for money than affordable i guess.
Can you recommend a good peptide serum for sensitive skin. I have been using Augustine’s Bader serum for eyes and face but it is far too expensive for what it is. Even though it works well with my skin type I think we are paying far too much for expensive packaging.
I totally have 🤐 However, I haven’t felt comfortable recommending that because it does contain some oil ingredients. It seems to work but it might not be working the exact same? Thus I would say it’s best to stick with oil-free gels/serums to err on the side of caution!
I have a question about the sunscreen- I am picky about the ingredients in my skincare because I don’t want to deal with cancer causing, endocrine disrupters, etc. I know that chemical sunscreens in the US are bad for you and also not Hawaii approved. Are these new chemical sunscreens bad for us too? Are these new chemical sunscreens (according to EU and Korea) safe? Or are they just as bad as the ones we have here but “work better” (meaning feel nicer and such)
Oh I absolutely think they are safe. One thing that I notice in watching clean beauty reviews is that products/reviews often point out how much more strict the EU is in terms of banning ingredients. And yet those filters are approved in the EU! It just makes it that much more ridiculous that the US won’t approve them 😕
I have wondered what the hell is an emulsion? What is it good for, or do I need it? I'm like do I really have to add emulsion as another step in my skincare routine?
Honestly it sounds like you might not need one? I think it’s a good rec for people who aren’t finding a light enough moisturizer but don’t like the feel of gels. Emulsions are the lightest moisturizers that still feel like moisturizers, if that makes sense!
@AliceintheRabbitHole Thanks. From High School Chem, I knew technically what an emulsemulsion was, but ur explanation was the simplest I've encountered for skin care. 🥰
Alice..or anyone....I would love some K-Beauty (or western) toners that can be used with (before) Tretinoin application.....Like after I wash, TONE , let dry and then apply Tret......Anything with AHA, BHA, green tea just burn like crazy..Am I crazy that green tea is irritating? Breaks my heart so I am hoping it's something else. I refer to you as the expert in what I am missing as for as reading the I-list..I am so very thankful for your help and expertise...
I was looking at the hard wonder egf ampoule and the sensitive version of the toner what do u think are they good worth it should I get them and try them. I am looking for a watery toner I just finished my cica toner I have some toners with body but I want another watery one and I don't know what to get the etude toner or idk it's so hard to tell which is watery and which ones have body.
Hi everyone. I saw a Penn Smith video where she stated there's a risk of pore blockage with lower molecular weight HA. Anyone read about this, by chance?
I haven’t, curious to see if anyone else knows about that (or which video it was?) I do know that there is concern that low mw HA could be pro-inflammatory. Generally it’s accepted as being used in small enough quantities to not cause risk, but I do understand why some prefer to avoid it!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole , I love HA. I was bummed out when I saw this. I'll find the name of the video for you. I saw it late last night. She was interviewing the creators of One Skin.
Isn’t there also some other ridiculous, confusing, loops that companies have to go through to get sunscreen filters approved in the USA? Someone explained it once, but I can’t remember it. I just remember that it made it nearly impossible, expensive, and it would take years to get a filter approved. I think La Roche Posay, or another company, got a filter approved here, and it took almost a decade or so. It was ridiculous.
Yeah after all the testing it still has to go through submission and approval. The entire problem is really the “drug” classification. Tbh I don’t have a problem with the long approval process in some cases, and in fact part of why we have it is as a result of the Thalidomide disaster (which the US actually got right!) But why on earth are sunscreen filters subjected to the same process. It just doesn’t make logical sense. I think it was Lab Muffin who talked more about how there needs to be a category between cosmetics and drugs - and I 100% agree.
Okay, tbh it annoys me that you don't have more views, followers, and likes. Come on, everyone, it's easy to hit that thumbs up button!! Sigh, I love Stylevana lol All the cleansers I use require a smaller than dime sized amount, even the e.l.f. Holy Hydration cleanser. Good cleansers just go a long way.
@AliceintheRabbitHole I really love the Peach Slices cleansers, but sometimes that dish soap smell can bother me. Since I have like 9 open cleansers to choose from, it's not a big deal. But, I'd almost prefer they'd add some kind of natural or gentle scent so I don't feel like I'm using Dawn.
I made a pretty large order on Stylvanna for black Friday and still haven't received anything? When I try and track my order it says its been packed but ups is still waiting for the package? Does anyone know if I will get my order? I tried reaching out via e mail with no response? Everything I ordered from the site said it was in stock and would all be shipped together? Please let me know if you think I am going to eventually get what I paid for?
I made two orders on Stylevana right around Black Friday that were also listed as USPS awaiting item for almost two months. I finally received both of my packages last week after I constantly emailed and dmed Stylevana on Instagram. I honestly think they had such a high volume of orders that they couldn’t keep up and some orders were shipped out before/after others. I’ve never had to wait so long for an order from them, it would take a month tops for me to receive it
I have never had luck with any tracking number from YesStyle or from Stylevana (though until recently I figured this was a “just me” problem). For me, it goes from “USPS is awaiting package” to “delivered” with NOTHING in between. DHL numbers track though, when yesstyle uses them to ship. Vana doesn’t use DHL so no luck ever there I do think you will receive it, but I also think the Black Friday stylevana orders were a record for slow shipping.
Have you tried Vegreen cica serum? I've been using it for the past month and so far it's helping my skin. I've tried so many products and nothing else really works. Dr syed's skincare is a scam video is really making me rethink buying any.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about that one! Tbh I don’t think buying more products is the answer, and I suspect that’s where a lot of the frustration with skincare as a whole comes from. I would say it’s more important to identify the problem, figure out what ingredients are right to both treat it AND that your skin agrees with, and finally to be consistent! (And definitely don’t apply products like RUclipsrs, you see my breakout situation LOL!)
I've watched that skincare is a scam video as well but I still use skincare. In the video he mentioned what actually had scientific evidence so yes use retinoids. However for me to use retinoids I also need good moisturizer, good hydration from a toner etc so eventually it's similar to my current routine. I do think it's good to try to streamline and minimize number of steps where you can...
Other websites I ordered many times from are wishtrend (very good customer service and quick delivery) and also bazzal. Bazzal sell curated boxes for amazing discounts and no shipping fees.

I also think that Stylebana has the best prices. However, Wishtrend has amazing shippinf times. I receive my orders in the US around 4 days later. They also have kits at very good price.
4 days is better than Sephora/Ulta speeds!! 🤯
I thought with foam cleansers in general (kbeauty or not), small amounts and foaming in the hands is how you’re supposed to use it.
I looked up my last Stylevanna order. I placed the order on Nov 27 and received it Dec 19. I'm in Canada.
Thank you, added!
I have heard that’s the fastest way to get a reply
I would say you’re within estimates for a November order (especially Black Friday), but if you still don’t have it at the 2 month mark, that’s when I would start getting quite flustered myself. I think they’ll get back to you on IG though 😊
It actually came today 😭 thank you for the advice!
Can u do full brand reviews of iope? It's the most fascinating brand to me right now. Seems quite affordable too. More value for money than affordable i guess.
Very heavily considering that!
Can you recommend a good peptide serum for sensitive skin. I have been using Augustine’s Bader serum for eyes and face but it is far too expensive for what it is. Even though it works well with my skin type I think we are paying far too much for expensive packaging.
Could you use the BOJ gel with the nuface and similar devices?
I totally have 🤐
However, I haven’t felt comfortable recommending that because it does contain some oil ingredients. It seems to work but it might not be working the exact same?
Thus I would say it’s best to stick with oil-free gels/serums to err on the side of caution!
I bought cosrx snail mucin 96 essence from stylevana. It is watery in texture . is stylevana selling fake products or product got reformulated ?
@AliceintheRabbitHole
Thanks.
How about fermented toners, will those work for you? Green tea shouldn’t be irritating in general though so I am perplexed!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I have a couple so I will try them in this scenario..and thank you...
Great job Alice I do wish we could get Usda going
Why can't cross border studies and approvals be used ?
That’s such a good question. We really need to make these advances on an international level!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I don't know why not. We have done medical across borders trained docs shared other medical studies etc. 🙄
I don’t get the regulations in the US when they are so slack with food ingredients 🤷♀️
Do u think Stylevanna can deliver quickly to Caribbean?
I’m so sorry, I haven’t gotten any responses on shipping to the Caribbean! My guess would be the standard 2-4 weeks though
@@AliceintheRabbitHole thks for replying

Sigh, I love Stylevana lol
All the cleansers I use require a smaller than dime sized amount, even the e.l.f. Holy Hydration cleanser. Good cleansers just go a long way.
That’s a good point tbh - and I’m glad you mention the elf. It doesn’t have to cost a lot to have a good formula!
Vana doesn’t use DHL so no luck ever there
I do think you will receive it, but I also think the Black Friday stylevana orders were a record for slow shipping.
hahahahaha... sure it was the tube! I cannot stop laughing. hahahahahaha
